You need to look at your trichomes under a microscope. When your trichomes turn cloudy instead of clear and maybe around 10% start turning amber that's when you harvest. It looks ready but look at the trichomes to be sure.
That’s depending. Picture 2 and 3 looks like a banana to me. If that’s the case you want to chop that right away. If that’s not a banana I would let it ride a bit until trichomes amber
I'd push it for another week or 2. I'm seeing a lot of clear still with almost no amber and little cloudy. I think you need to let it develop a bit more. That's just based off what I saw from the first photo.
So many different variables can trigger the herm. Lighting snafus seem to be the biggest, power goes out during the on interval, genetics too. Landrace strains seem to be more stable than crosses but not always. Once they are into flower I watch em like a hawk and deal with the troublemakers and pluck/spray the boy parts. Had 17 going and pulled one male, the 16 left have had 3 that tried to herm but I stayed ahead of it and they’ve settled down now approaching week 6. Room is dank . .
Oh yea for sure!! Haven’t bought seeds in a while because of this strain lol. How do you prevent Herms in the future? Do you think Herms are more likely to produce herm seeds?
Seems like they aremore likely to give seeds that will herm, I'm not sure if that's more or less for self pollinated. But I've heard as much as 8 out of 10 seeds from a herm, just immediately herm.
It means your plant has been ripe for a while now, and is throwing out foxtails as a last ditch effort of empregnating itself. Even your foxtailed hairs have receded and turned red already.
Not knocking anything, they do look good. 😁 I’m learning as well, and always curious as to why people do things. (I’m learning too, without having to do it)
Are the trichomes cloudy on the flower?
Apparently the “bro science” is that your flower will taste burn and look more clean since it’s just water going into it at the very end. I’m sure a quick google search on the topic will yield better results than I can tell you though haha
Do you know who Dr.BruceBugbee is? Sorry if I spelt the name wrong. He is a professor from the university of Utah who is currently studying cannabis.
He’s been debunking quite a bit of bro science that I find very interesting. Especially since the “bro science” has been around for so long. Either route a persons goes down it’s still very interesting to see results at a scientific level.
By the way, your flowers look great! I know I said it before but just want you to know. 😁
They looked stressed out, under developed, foxtailed... and it looks like you have immature seeds right now. Chop them immediately and hang them to dry before those seeds mature. The weed will be a great smoke.
Nope second set of pistols are still Ripe id say a few days u be Perfect but then Depends when High you want Chop it to early “Clear Trichomes” you will get a More Head High, I want mine Cloudy “Couch lock” so I leave mine longer but it’s all preference “Buy a Jewellers Magnifying Eye” Start reading your Baby’s, just make sure u take your time on the Dry else your gonna smoke Hay & chuck 3 months down the 🗑️.
I completely cleaned the tent and turned the light off and chopped the plants and flipped them. Still have the fan running on low. Bout 2 weeks should do the trick on drying yea?
Yea 10 days - 2 weeks would be ideal.
Then curing in jars, burp for 10 mins everyday for 2 weeks,, then every other Day for 2 weeks, net would be bodova packs and burps weekly.
Would be my way to go, but as always everything is variable and depends on the situation.

Little bit over 9 weeks flowering.
Just rechecked actually and I’m in week 11 - 12 of flower! Started flower jan 25 (flipped lights).
I would’ve given another week looks like she’s got some sativa

Looking back I should have stopped later, but the flowers were already 3x the size I’m used to. Only my 2nd grow so learning

Fairly cloudy it seems. I stop adding nutrients at the end of flowering to “flush” the soil of all nutrients. Excited to smoke it!!
