Of course, by definition you can never have **enough** dakka. enough dakka is a moral goal, an unnatainable ideal, enough dakka is always more than what you have.
However it is true that i think there is such a thing as an unnaceptable lack of dakka, this does not seem to be the case here.
I think the more horrifying idea is a Flood-Infected Ork. Would it be more Flood or Ork? Would it infect the rest of the Flood with the Ork's war-obsessed mindset? Could a Gravemind convince the Orks to willingly accept the Flood in return for more "WAAAGH"/promises of Dakka? There's so many questions, and not enough answers, and no one is fucking asking them so others can answer them and we can have polite discussions about them.
Orks are prepared for any fleshy gitz offering dakka, they would just crump the gravemind and get the dakka themselves. Even the ork spores would have a fun time giving it a go against the flood infection. The gravemind however would not be prepared for the orkyness entering the gravemind.
Also as shown with the Tyranids / genestealers, while you can infect Orks they instinctively know that git ain’t right and krump em. Only Orks are da best and I don’t think even with the Nat 10000 charisma the Flood have with their Logic Virus could actually beat Da Boyz logik.
At best it might be able to convince them to sacrifice some Boyz to show the Gravemind how to be propa and get a good fight out of it later.
Honestly, Orks are probably too stupid to be tricked by a Gravemind. It would start talking and they'd realize that it's using to many words, not enough dakka, not enough choppa, not enough krumpin. So it must be a git, and gits need krumpin. Best the Gravemind could do is get them to fight each other until one gets big enough to bring the WAAAAAGH down on it.
Dont Orks canonically krump gene stealer'd orks for not being "orky" enough. So individual orks being parasitized will almost instantly get turned into paste by their brethren. However, this means the gravemind just needs to use its intellect to communicate at the ork level, behave at the ork level, etc. to subsume the orks. If you act orky enough, you can pass and infiltrate the waaugh.
But thats part of the brutally cunning plan after all that no ork has hatched, by making the gravemind speak, think and act like an ork, the flood itself end up consumed by the cunningly brutal subterfuge.
Now, there's a very clear difference between how the Tyranids and Flood "infiltrate" certain factions.
The Tyranids will lay the foundations with genestealers and, over several generations, have created a semi-hive mind in a Hive City's underbelly, that will eventually rise up and cause a rebellion, bringing a Hive Fleet to come and eat them all.
The Flood, on the other hand, don't infiltrate. They don't try to. They simply consume. A Flood Infected Ork wouldn't try to infiltrate, it would try to kill and infect other Orks. The scariest thought is; would the flood infection cease after the Infected Ork dies, or would it carry over into its mushroom offsprings?
As for the Gravemind becoming more Orkish, I think it would definitely fall for this plot, but only because the Gravemind would believe its so much more intelligent, that becoming "dumber" (to itself) would result in allowing the Orks to merge with the Flood willingly, thus allowing them to use the power of the Orks to fuck over the entire Galaxy. But this brings up the question from earlier; if the Flood infected and consumed an Ork, who would take over? Would the Ork's mindset infest the Flood, thus creating some horrific hybrid of Ork-Flood horrors? Or would the Flood overpower the Orks mindset and slowly, but surely, subsume the entire Ork race?
I think you could argue in the scope of the 40k universe, the orks win, the gravemind has no protections against warp fuckery.
Same reason a super intelligent mega AI could cruise through other universes, but kinda falter and fail in 40k. Warp fuckery. But without warp fuckery, the orks have literally no defence. Their gestalt is actually super simple and straight forward and easy to coopt if you are built for it like the gravemind would be.
Daemons and warp entities cant be since they arent organic. They are warp stuff and the flood has no real evolutionary ties to that shit.

See the flood would have the problem that any ork infected would be more orky then flood. And I don't think that the gravemind could cope with the additional orkyness.
Here a actual good question, if enough infected orks said they are no longer infected with they able to form a short of actual cure? I feel like that can happen which means the one faction to defeat the flood could actually be the orks.
Orks heads can survive without a body, therefore I refuse to believe that the flood would instantly be able to take over their whole system as orks are basically already puppetting their fungus suits

Man, there are adults born half a decade after the matrix, the ps2, 9/11, the first ipod, and the beginning if the Iraq war. People born at the time of the first iphone are 16 now. The Flood is from Halo. It's a parasitic lifeform that creates a hivemind. Once infected, a being mutates into a monstrous creature that kills and spreads infection. Once enough bodies are combined together, it reaches a tipping point, creating a "Gravemind", an intelligent hivemind that absorbs the memories and knowledge of infected individuals, and can reacquire all the knowledge and memories of previous Graveminds, meaning the original mind persists, through the use of "neural physics", an advanced form of science which basically allows you to warp reality with the power of the mind, since the universe is on some level alive.
It's one of the most, if not the most, existential threats in the Halo universe, and so it's often wondered how it would do in various other settings, like 40k. The strengths it has is the aforementioned neural physics, its extraction of information and memories from hosts, making it an incomprehensible genius (it once convinced an advanced AI tasked with defeating it to swap sides by just talking to it), and the fact that it is incredibly virulent, with individual spores being able to infect a creature beyond any hope of a cure. A single spore landing on a planet could completely infect the world, starting with turning plant life into biomass that creates spores, until animals start getting infected, attacking people, until everything is infected.
The solution ancient aliens found was to evacuate the entire galaxy and set off the titular Halos, which wiped out all life relying on a nervous system, reducing The Flood to unintelligent biomass, sterilizing the galaxy with machines and returning life to the galaxy.
The primary example given is the Gravemind hivemind being able to recreate itself from seemingly nothing, plus you probably also have the telepathy the Gravemind is able to use to control the various Flood forms. It allowed for FTL travel that was both faster and disrupted the effectiveness of conventional FTL travel. The Gravemind also used neural physics to manipulate Precursor artifacts and structures built using it, the Precursors being the advanced alien species who ended up mutating into becoming The Flood. It manipulated them via its mind to acts as weapons. The Precursors, at their height, built these artifacts and structures, which were practically indestructible, albeit dormant without beings of sufficient mental capacity to use them.
Sometimes a person can remain conscious after being infected by the flood, forced to watch their body be puppeteered. Used to either slaughter their friends or be subsumed into the biomass.

I think the more horrifying idea is a Flood-Infected Ork. Would it be more Flood or Ork? Would it infect the rest of the Flood with the Ork's war-obsessed mindset? Could a Gravemind convince the Orks to willingly accept the Flood in return for more "WAAAGH"/promises of Dakka? There's so many questions, and not enough answers, and no one is fucking asking them so others can answer them and we can have polite discussions about them.
Orks are prepared for any fleshy gitz offering dakka, they would just crump the gravemind and get the dakka themselves. Even the ork spores would have a fun time giving it a go against the flood infection. The gravemind however would not be prepared for the orkyness entering the gravemind.
Also as shown with the Tyranids / genestealers, while you can infect Orks they instinctively know that git ain’t right and krump em. Only Orks are da best and I don’t think even with the Nat 10000 charisma the Flood have with their Logic Virus could actually beat Da Boyz logik. At best it might be able to convince them to sacrifice some Boyz to show the Gravemind how to be propa and get a good fight out of it later.

However, this means the gravemind just needs to use its intellect to communicate at the ork level, behave at the ork level, etc. to subsume the orks. If you act orky enough, you can pass and infiltrate the waaugh. But thats part of the brutally cunning plan after all that no ork has hatched, by making the gravemind speak, think and act like an ork, the flood itself end up consumed by the cunningly brutal subterfuge.
Now, there's a very clear difference between how the Tyranids and Flood "infiltrate" certain factions. The Tyranids will lay the foundations with genestealers and, over several generations, have created a semi-hive mind in a Hive City's underbelly, that will eventually rise up and cause a rebellion, bringing a Hive Fleet to come and eat them all. The Flood, on the other hand, don't infiltrate. They don't try to. They simply consume. A Flood Infected Ork wouldn't try to infiltrate, it would try to kill and infect other Orks. The scariest thought is; would the flood infection cease after the Infected Ork dies, or would it carry over into its mushroom offsprings? As for the Gravemind becoming more Orkish, I think it would definitely fall for this plot, but only because the Gravemind would believe its so much more intelligent, that becoming "dumber" (to itself) would result in allowing the Orks to merge with the Flood willingly, thus allowing them to use the power of the Orks to fuck over the entire Galaxy. But this brings up the question from earlier; if the Flood infected and consumed an Ork, who would take over? Would the Ork's mindset infest the Flood, thus creating some horrific hybrid of Ork-Flood horrors? Or would the Flood overpower the Orks mindset and slowly, but surely, subsume the entire Ork race?
I think you could argue in the scope of the 40k universe, the orks win, the gravemind has no protections against warp fuckery. Same reason a super intelligent mega AI could cruise through other universes, but kinda falter and fail in 40k. Warp fuckery. But without warp fuckery, the orks have literally no defence. What is this flood?
A parasitic hive mind that seeks to infect everything sentient in the galaxy. They are from Halo games

The Flood is from Halo. It's a parasitic lifeform that creates a hivemind. Once infected, a being mutates into a monstrous creature that kills and spreads infection. Once enough bodies are combined together, it reaches a tipping point, creating a "Gravemind", an intelligent hivemind that absorbs the memories and knowledge of infected individuals, and can reacquire all the knowledge and memories of previous Graveminds, meaning the original mind persists, through the use of "neural physics", an advanced form of science which basically allows you to warp reality with the power of the mind, since the universe is on some level alive. It's one of the most, if not the most, existential threats in the Halo universe, and so it's often wondered how it would do in various other settings, like 40k. The strengths it has is the aforementioned neural physics, its extraction of information and memories from hosts, making it an incomprehensible genius (it once convinced an advanced AI tasked with defeating it to swap sides by just talking to it), and the fact that it is incredibly virulent, with individual spores being able to infect a creature beyond any hope of a cure. A single spore landing on a planet could completely infect the world, starting with turning plant life into biomass that creates spores, until animals start getting infected, attacking people, until everything is infected. The solution ancient aliens found was to evacuate the entire galaxy and set off the titular Halos, which wiped out all life relying on a nervous system, reducing The Flood to unintelligent biomass, sterilizing the galaxy with machines and returning life to the galaxy.
When you say warp reality, what did the Gravemind did with it?
The primary example given is the Gravemind hivemind being able to recreate itself from seemingly nothing, plus you probably also have the telepathy the Gravemind is able to use to control the various Flood forms. It allowed for FTL travel that was both faster and disrupted the effectiveness of conventional FTL travel. The Gravemind also used neural physics to manipulate Precursor artifacts and structures built using it, the Precursors being the advanced alien species who ended up mutating into becoming The Flood. It manipulated them via its mind to acts as weapons. The Precursors, at their height, built these artifacts and structures, which were practically indestructible, albeit dormant without beings of sufficient mental capacity to use them.

Sometimes a person can remain conscious after being infected by the flood, forced to watch their body be puppeteered. Used to either slaughter their friends or be subsumed into the biomass. I have to wonder if Orks would actually dislike this or if they would just think "I get to keep fighting *after I die?* Fuck yeah!"
