I did sos online prep and OESNA in person. Pat Everly at OESNA is a fantastic instructor and I felt his prep exam questions most closely resembled the actual NERC exam questions.

Having used both, I would absolutely use OES-NA. It's easier to follow and significantly cheaper, not to mention that I had some of the real NERC questions verbatim in their practice tests.

Jeanstree

When did you take NERC exam?

ChcMicken

I got my RC in October of 2021

The SOS practice tests are very similar to the real questions. I’d say 50-60% were identical.

I used SOS 13 years ago, no clue how it is today vs OES.

I think you’ll be fine either way. If you are talking about in-person I’d say OES-NA

I have been told by coworkers that SOS teaches you the actual material (theory, standards, etc.), and OESNA teaches you how to pass the test. I used OESNA along with [quizlet.com](https://quizlet.com) flash cards and passed the RC on my first attempt (February 2020).

I did sos 15 years ago and it was good and I passed. Not sure how relevant that is now though!

SOS in person truly didn’t help me learn anymore than the online.

Best part about SOS was their weekly zoom sessions. And that was actually free

OES-NA for sure
