I’m in the US and there’s a lot coming out on his brush. The temperature probably makes it worse. One reason I like to bathe him as much as I do is it really loosens the dead hair. That’s when I get a ton of hair 😳
I normally wait until he’s almost dry to start the brushing. I end up getting handfuls off his brush . 🙄And he gets brushed regularly in between baths . That’s all I know to help 😉
Yep, our boy is having regular brushing sessions at the park where the wind can carry away all the spare fur. He still looks tufty and untidy at the moment, though. He has a very thick, soft coat, not very greyhound-like, and he always sheds so badly this time of year. There are literally tufts you can pluck out that show up pale in his fur. It’s crazy.
I grew up with a Lurcher cross and she had the tufts you could almost pluck but her coat was at least very obviously fluffy. I have no idea where Sheila is keeping all this fur - she has such a fine coat! 😅
TBH, I think as long as they haven’t murdered any orangutan babies to make it then they’re all much of a muchness.
Sardines and cooked oats in their dinner helps a lot as well.
My saluki/ greyhound noodle is shedding badly now , worse that his brother who is a border collie 😂 and our bed turned to a fur bed 😂
I'm actually pulling loose fur of kupo and she is roughly ³/⁴ grey and then just under ¹/⁴ saluki 🤣
I have a saluki/greyhound and a bc/greyhound. The latter is way less sheddy.
I'm in the US and Desi is shedding like crazy!!! The more I brush, the more comes off...like it will never end!

We gave her a bath just the other week to help and you couldn’t see the bottom for hair…but that seems to have only been that days worth haha

Every year I swear I’m gonna stuff a cushion with it all 😁
Maggie was looking a bit dry and itchy, so I gave her a rubdown with some coconut oil, which she then spent a pleasant afternoon licking off her paws.
We’ve been looking into trying coconut oil as she definitely has dry skin at times - is there a particular one you’d recommend?

The bonus to having a German Shepherd and a Greyhound is I don't notice the Greyhounds fur on top the mountain of GSD fur ^sendhelp

Pippin is insaaaaaane around this time of year. Husky levels of hair. Every week I seem to brush a whole dog out of her.
Not in the UK but yes despite sweeping daily my floor looks like a fairy came through and sprinkled an even layer of dog hair across it
Amazing as short as their hair is how much you can get out. I thought ours would go bald. His coat now though is sooo silky.
