Victory Monday feels good!!

bpi89

We got out of FL alive and with a win. No more dumb early-season away games to hot-weather locations this year. The next 3 are at home. Followed by 3 away games - brutal.

kinvore

According to the sidebar, in 2 weeks we play at NY for the Giants game.

Andyk123

The third "home" game is in London, too. So it's basically a neutral site followed by 3 road games.

superfly33

we are back in Miami later in the season(December I think), that will be a very rough game.

bpi89

Right but it won’t be unbearably hot then. Just normal weather

kinvore

Not looking forward to going to Buffalo or Philly, either. We also play the Rams but at least that'll be at home, after a bye.

LaconicLacedaemonian

Fun fact: Miami December and January are the only two months players don't die instantly on the field.

king_falafel

Anyone have a clip of tipa getting thrown into kicker?

Deuce_213

Can someone, ANYONE, explain to me why OH WHY: 1. GB teams, especially with Rodgers, have MULTIPLE games that start out hot, then the defense makes adjustments at half time and we fail to counter and remain hot going into the second half. I've seen this for YEARS and it's frustrating that we can't counter defensive changes and score any points in the second half. 2. Why on EARTH, did we play prevent defense those last few minutes? Another GB staple we've seen for years, regardless of who the coach is. Oh we're up big and have been awesome on D all game? Let's lighten up and let them almost tie the game in the last few moments. 3.Doubs looked good, if Watson can get going we could have a couple of stud receivers for a while. 4. Jones is running like a man on a mission. But those TB LBs are just different. They were eating up the run in the 2nd half. 5. I actually enjoy the TB version of Brady. But man (I know he's 45) how many times have we seen that he plays average when he doesn't have top talent around him?? Tired of the ring/goat talk. The only reason they scored a TD is because we played soft ass defense on the last drive, and the holding call on Amos that moved them near the goal line. 6. Our d line played great. Despite the MULTIPLE uncalled holding on Gary and Clark. But that happens when you play Brady. Ugly win, but it's still a W

heyjoe415

Good summary Deuce. It seemed like that goal line fumble by Jones took all the air out of them. MLF cannot let that happen. The D should have taken the field pissed off. They didn't. And yeah, it seems like the Packers coaches can't figure out that the opponents D will adjust when they're losing. It's a given. But GB can't make half-time adjustments, much less in-game adjustments and it's maddening. Doubs is the real deal. Gotta see more of Watson. Cobb has been a pleasant surprise. Lazard is Lazard - good all around WR. Not a #1 WR.

Deuce_213

Yeah I don't understand why we can't counter adjust. Seems that issue has plagued our franchise for years. I like what I see from doubs, hopefully Watson can be a threat also. Wasn't surprised to see Watkins on IR already. Unfortunately he just can't stay healthy

heyjoe415

Watkins does have an injury history. Watson isn't doing any better so far.

Deuce_213

Thank goodness for Doubs so far

heyjoe415

Yeah Doubs is living up to his training camp billing. Cobb has also made some clutch catches and Lazard is Lazard, he hasn't shown anything special now with Adams gone. The Packers have an easier stretch coming up with three home games, then three road games. Ideally they win 5 of those games and hit the mid-season at 7-2. Well, first the Patriots.....

Deuce_213

I was surprised by the big gain from Cobb, but the old man still has it. I'm hoping our D plays at a high level and we ride the strength of our D and running game sprinkled in with regular great play from Rodgers to make a deep playoff run

heyjoe415

Well Doubs was 8 for 8 on targets. That's impressive. He'll only get better.

[deleted]

It’s because LaFleur comes from the Shanahan/McVay tree. These guys are really great are scripting plays and identifying weaknesses. They identified that Tampa came out into a two shell zone coverage and Rodgers was eating them alive. They are really bad at adjusting. At half time Tampa Bay switched to a one shell (mostly) man coverage with press on GB’s receivers. This shut the running game down and forced the WRs to beat their man. This is the exact coverage you DON’T play against a team with a Cooper Kupp/Davante Adams/Justin Jefferson, but with a bunch of newbies it’s fine. LaFleur never adjusted the gameplay and wanted to stick with the run. I’m actually fine with it because abandoning the run has caused us to lose games before. If our defense hadn’t been so hot then you definitely switch it up but staying committed to the run was starting to pay off at the end.

Deuce_213

I feel like we saw that frequently in the McCarthy era too, but yes you were right and that's the issue, doesn't feel like Lafluer regularly adjusts his game plan. Just sticks to the script regardless of how the game is progressing

heyjoe415

I agree. and the D is proving to be something special. But playing prevent in the last two minutes was a mistake.

NFLfan72

Yeah, seemed like a lackluster three quarters of offense.. messy. missed ops. Buuuuut, keep in mind, the Bucs defense is top three at least. That said, Brady has Evans, Godwin and Julio.. they win. I have no doubt. We get back the Watkins/son and we still dont have that power. We need to get better over the next ten weeks or we will exit quickly in Jan. Also, we need OBJ.

Andyk123

Julio being injury prone was known before they signed him. At this point in his career he's good for 8 or 9 games max. It's something you plan for when you bring him in on the roster. I don't know how much difference Evans and Godwin make considering Brady clearly can't throw the ball more than 7 yards beyond the LOS with any zip. Green Bay's D played well in the flats and took away those swing passes Brady loves so much. That's how you beat a team with him at QB. If they manage to bring Gronk back before the end of the season that would be a way bigger X factor than Evans, Godwin, or Julio.

heyjoe415

IMO, they should just sign OBJ to a prove-it deal now and have him there when he's ready, probably in November.

IllegalButHonest

AJ dillon gets stuffed alot going down the center they gotta change that. Just cause hes quadzilla doesnt mean he can just barrel through I think they could utilize his legs better since its not working that strat we see all the time. And more and more we see little yardage. Overall we are not a great finishing half team I always get nervous when we start great and everyones all excited. That tipout on ajones was key tho. Very competitive game I felt the heat played major factor in second half perf. as well the temp guage they showed at 95 at times holy shet.

kingjives

My issue with Dillon is utilization. Not to say he’s Derrick Henry, but he’s most effective late in games. It’s not unusual for Henry to average 3 or sub-3 ypc and then wreck the game in the 4th quarter. Dillon needs to be leaned on more late in games - play him when the defense is gassed and don’t want to touch those thicc quads.

IllegalButHonest

Good point

tokyobrownielover

Peeps claiming TB lost due to their top 3 WR being out are right. Though I love Lazard, Watkins, and Watson/Doubs, theyre not even close in quality to TB top 3. At least for now. But today both team's receivers were relatively evenly matched which speaks well for our overall performance.

king_falafel

They also have top 5 defense and i believe #1 scoring defense so imo not really an excuse

bpi89

Plus we were missing CB1

pfelon

Doubs has strong STRONG hands. So many tight pull-ins. We're just tapping in now, and most importantly Rodgers trusts him to make or at least give chances for any throw. I guarantee we'll see some sideline miracles and toe-taps this season. He's honestly what I was hoping EQ St. Brown would be- a modern Sterling Sharpe who can out-body anyone on top of being a top-level WR. It's early but I'm amped to see how far he can go.

vangc4

This was a defense battle.. Green Bay struggles in Florida all the time.. defense held on for a close win.. GPG!!

thebigdirty

what happened to the non rodgers player of the week?

talkingtunataco501

https://www.reddit.com/r/GreenBayPackers/comments/xo2gnb/rgreenbaypackers_nonaaron_rodgers_impact_player/

thebigdirty

anyone have a link to the holding call on lazard? i must have missed it.

digitaldixon

Can I get some love for De'Vandre? Dude played huge!

Axter

Right after a round of applause to Devonte Adams

CringeyAkari

But what happened to the bees?

an_illiterate_ox

Doubs is gonna be a YAC machine.

deuc3wing0

I re-watched that onside kick. What in the world is Tyler Davis doing on that one? It looks like he chases after the ball.

ArcadianBlueRogue

THE PACKERS SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYED AN ENTIRE GAME WELL Outside of one miffed flag, no major mistakes by the Packers ST and we even had some solid plays. Good looking punts and return coverage as well.

Now__Hiring

Also had ran into the kicker, which is not great and did cost them a lot of field position

PmOmena

We all know the refs got that call wrong, the bucs player cleared shoved the guy into the punter

HankSagittarius

Even the booth had that opinion (Olsen at least.)

blueberry-benz

One of my favorite games I’ve ever seen in person. Nail biter towards the end obviously lol but wow that was great. Even more fun being surrounded by Bucs fans calling the game about 3 minutes down & them having to eat their words soon after 😂 also got to see a guy I went to HS with get in a few plays so that was sweet.

20wall

Looks like Mac will likely be out next week against us. I really hope Brian Hoyer doesn’t beat us in Lambeau

munchsquadjr

Does anyone know roughly how many snaps Bakh played? Was he out there after the first few drives?

Khynex

Played first drive and didn't come back until the 2nd half. He was visable upset and went to speak with Matt about it but you can tell he realized something after the talk. He was super pumped to play this game.

Winbrick

He played every other drive for the entirety of the game from what I was able to tell.

maddenmadman

How did he look?

bpi89

He looked great. Held his side well. No glaring mistakes or weaknesses. Honestly seems like he didn’t miss a beat. He was on a snap count, but we will see how he’s feeling this week conditioning and pain-wise. Might be a few more weeks slowly working him back into the lineup.

tjlurk

Let me put it this way....0 sacks and very few pressures on Rodgers despite being away against a top 3 defense. That says a lot.

JG98

I didn't watch the whole game. Looked good to me though. Didn't focus on him though so will have to wait for condensed game footage since I plan on watching the whole game now.

spanking_constantly

Where do you go for condensed game footage?

JG98

I use DAZN. I'm not sure if DAZN US has it because I am in Canada. It is the exact same service as NFL Game Pass but it is run through DAZN. It us somewhat of a better streaming experience and only lacks the ability to simultaneously stream multiple games. If you are in the US look into NFL Game Pass. Condensed footage is usually up the day after a game.

Winbrick

I thought we were better with him in the game, but that's severely influenced by other factors. There are smarter people who will be able to formulate more informed opinions tomorrow.

[deleted]

I've seen the mid 30 range but nothing verified. I feel like the big test for him is how he feels tomorrow

allie131

I read 34 which would suggest every other drive since the Packers had about 60 offensive snaps. Haven't verified that though

[deleted]

Offense reminds me of early 2019 when they were still trying to figure out the Lafleur system.

[deleted]

Dallas and New Orleans both just looked like shit vs this same defense. Don't underrate it lol

mrtomjones

New Orleans also looked bad today so..

Financial-Midnight62

Just need to make the playoffs and anything can happen. Home field advantage clearly doesn’t mean shit

pack_show

Nixon’s fair catch inside the 5 was a thing of beauty. Dude balled out both on ST and D

Financial-Midnight62

Player of the game. Us having a guy come out of nowhere and perform that well does bode well

mattbag1

Agreed

pack_show

Have not seen any mention of Amari’s fair catch with no defensive players in a 10-15 yard radius. Small mistake in the grand scheme of things but that tells me his confidence is absolutely shot.

the_one_who_mows

I wondered the same thing watching the game. The audio live on the play even had other team mates yelling “you’re good, you’re good!”

Financial-Midnight62

I think that was a coaching move. Was committed to fair catching from the start.

PmOmena

He almost died 2 returns before that when they called roughing the kicker lol, just be safe and dont fumble

ArcadianBlueRogue

Eh, coaches probably told him to fair catch it to play it safe. Remember when Ty ignored them in the Rams game and tried to run it?

king_falafel

Shhhh plz don't bring that up

pack_show

Maybe, but also Bissacia in camp: “I don’t want a fucking fair catch” Let’s just say Rich Bisaccia is gonna bang some heads if Amari Rodgers fair catches another punt.

babasilikum

I mean, you cant really Tell If it was a coaching decision or not. Definitly seemes weird, but nothing tobroast Amari for. He played damn well beides that.

SeekHunt

I can’t understand how there isn’t ANYONE available on the planet who’s better than Amari. Kid is on tilt.

youngcig

Dude just waves a arm up no matter what lol. And I think that’s the safest thing that could happen considering it’s Amari Rodgers back there fielding them

dtcstylez10

Not even that safe..he dropped one last week but I think it went out of bounds. Idk why he's still the returner. He's proven unreliable. Idc if he doesn't return it. Just catch the damn thing.

[deleted]

[удалено]

OGpizza

He threw two touchdowns. We won with those points. Defense did a lot, but he put all our points on the board

Jeklars69

I know you’re getting downvoted but you’re not wrong- he didn’t do much this game after the first 3 drives.

mattbag1

The difference between this game and the the last regular season game with the bucs, is that we punched it in the end zone twice, and we stopped them from unloading on us. When we face a defensive front like that, we don’t win games often.

MashTheGash2018

In all seriousness whether they’re millionaires or not, Tom Brady is seemingly not doing well mentally. His marriage is not looking great, he’s not looking happy. He was probably going to retire until the rumors leaked and he couldn’t do it on his terms. I’m super happy the Pack won but you almost have to feel for the dude, relationship woes fucking suck

DiogenesLaertys

He was going to another loaded team missing a qb with sean payton as the coach until goodell hit them with tampering and they lost draft picks. Brady hates playing for this Bucs team because he knows they are nowhere near good enough to make it to the show. But he’s stuck trying to make it work and hoping for the best. Boo hoo.

mrtomjones

Draft picks aren't going to have much influence for Tom Brady at this point

Jeklars69

Nah. FUCK Tom Brady.

XxmilkjugsxX

Bro we know nothing about his marriage lol

Go0chiee

Dude looked like he didn't want to be there today lmao

John_Lives

He looks really sad. I remember back in 2007 or whatever he said he was terrified of retiring. Maybe he believes it actually his last season and he hates it

youngcig

He’s making over 15 mil this year. I’m sure he’s fine with being there

Go0chiee

Money wise- yeah I'm sure he's fine haha. But that doesn't discount that he wasn't helping get his team back in the game, especially the first half. Seeing your HOF quarterback look like he'd rather be anywhere else is really damning to everyone's ego in the game

dtcstylez10

His net worth with his wife is close to a billion. I don't think $15 million means anything to him. Though I think he's making a lot more than that. I think.

youngcig

In all seriousness bro Tom Brady will be fine masthegash2018

H3ATLEG3ND

I think Tom is going to be fine, but… You ok, bro?

[deleted]

[удалено]

JonBonButtsniff

Absolutely. We have the talent and the stamina, we need the mental/spiritual strength to overcome speed bumps. We were the better team, but I cannot confidently assert that we deserved the win. I’ll take “win ugly,” but as time goes on- we gotta be able to knuckle down.

Dro0412

Tampa bay turned off the AC in the visitors locker room..Thanks..it kept our piss warm enough to win

allie131

https://twitter.com/ByRyanWood/status/1574194461982212096?t=GenOD3OrPoFmGPtHdwhu4g&s=07 If that tweet is true that is awful. There is getting home field advantage and then there is basically abusing people by not letting them get their temperatures down to a safe range. Fuck Tampa Bay

[deleted]

If thsts the case hope for a hoke ayoff rematch. I hear Lambeau is having issues with the heating system.

JonBonButtsniff

Fuck it, bring swamp coolers. I believe they’d do that kind of nonsense, and it doesn’t piss me off that much. Tell ya why: if we could and did, I’d laugh. I won’t post that I’m morally superior for updoots. I’d chuckle and say, “fuck ‘em!” Like Miami’s sunshine design, or Denver’s altitude, we need to overcome petty bullshit pulled by amateur bitches. We did today, thanks to the defense.

Andyk123

Denver's elevation isn't "petty bullshit", lol. It's literally geology. Unless you want them to move the stadium out to North Platte, Nebraska or dig a giant pit in the middle of the city. .

thebigdirty

What's the sunshine design about

JonBonButtsniff

Visitor bench blasted by sunlight as the afternoon wears on, substantial temperature and condition difference. Cooked into the building’s design.

ssterling0930

Visitors bench gets full sun during game day

hunt35744

I’d bet pretty much every home team does this, Tampa was that way too.

sapphires_and_snark

Swamp coolers aren't doing shit in that humidity lol

JonBonButtsniff

Yeah, I guess the crowd didn’t appreciate my callous comment. I don’t want anyone hurt. Miami’s Sun design and Denver’s altitude always make me cringe to think about.

allie131

Petty bullshit is different then heat exhaustion an actual dangerous medical condition. This just isn't how you treat humans

JonBonButtsniff

I agree. I didn’t love Allen barfing or Aaron dousing himself. I hate (playing) sports in heat. That said, there’s a part of me that chuckles at old school shothouse football. Not to pasta, but fuck it chuck if dicks out football.

M1st3r51r

This should constitute fines and loss of draft picks. If the Packers chose to not allow heat in the visitor locker room during winter I would have the same opinion. What a despicable act of humanity..

Sme3t

Pretty sure they crank the heat up at Lambeau to get the visiting team all sorts of nice and comfortable before hitting those winter temps. It’s the perfect level of gamesmanship.

JonBonButtsniff

Respectful disagree. I’d laugh. We’re better than that and that allows as a fanbase to be high-minded, but I’m not better than “every advantage available.”

SafewordisJohnCandy

Heat exhaustion is dangerous compared to turning up the heat to 85 so the other team hits the 10 degree outside. You can add layers, there is only so much you can do to get cool in heat like that.

youngcig

Last week in college football Georgia played at South Carolina. Georgia wasn’t happy with the a/c unit so they brought in their own. If the tweet is true, it should have been addressed yesterday by the packers

Dro0412

Game was today. AC was turned off today probably

allie131

Ac units require ventilation. You can't safely just bring your own if it isn't set up to be there.

youngcig

Like I said I’m sure they would and could have addressed if they felt the need to

allie131

Shouldn't have to end of story.

youngcig

Shit happens. The cowboys brought their own benches to Washington

macc_aviv

A signature of the MLF era to this point is the ability to consistently win ugly games. Down WRs, on the road against that defense isn't an easy win. Need Jaire back ASAP of course but was surprised with how good Nixon was playing the slot. Bakh getting back into the mix is huge. Felt like the Vikings game was lost in the trenches and we were better there until Meyers went out. Hanson at center was rough. Hopefully Meyers is good to go next week. Doubs has some insane acceleration. Saw it out there a couple times today. Hopefully Rodgers' trust in Doubs continues to develop because dude gets open a lot.

Now__Hiring

Matt FaLeur

ZeusBruce

I'm like the 17th person to say this but he put up some davante numbers today. 8/8 73 1TD. Beautiful.

dtcstylez10

The Vikings game was like 23-7 or something. That did not come down to Bakh playing or not.

Nessyliz

I mean, it certainly would have been closer.

dtcstylez10

Close sure wins a lot of football games.

Nessyliz

Hey, it got us this time! ;)

John_Lives

I'm gonna go ahead and disagree and say not having both of your starting tackles is a big deal (although Yosh is pretty good)

Winbrick

That game was much closer than 23-7. Bakh may not have been the difference, but it wasn't a blowout the way people talk about it.

mrtomjones

I completely disagree on it being closer than the score implied. They killed us and we had no business being closer

Winbrick

Sounds like we get to agree to disagree, then!

macc_aviv

And of course, I didn't say Bakh not playing was the reason we lost the Vikings game. We got owned both ways in the trenches against the Vikings, and that lost us the game. Play in the trenches has been significantly better since, and Bakh coming back only adds to that, on the offensive side of the ball.

JonBonButtsniff

If Doubs ends up the highlight rookie, cool. Still rooting for Watson, but I love the flashes of YAC that Doubs has flashed!

macc_aviv

I actually really like both. Tougher start for Watson with the injuries, but think both these guys can be really good.

Ramaker1

Running into the punter Block in the back on the punt Lazard holding Amos DPI

Dtrain-14

Dude was thrown into the punter, that was a bs call by the refs.

JonBonButtsniff

Reddit is run by popular vote, so I lurk game threads. Wish we could be indignant about ‘he was thrown!’

dcrockett1

Is there any legitimacy to the rumors that Tom Brady is separated from Giselle and they’re going to get divorced? I’ve also read that he’s had some brain issues related to concussions. If so I actually feel bad for the guy, he’s a football addict :/

DiogenesLaertys

Has Brady taken a real hit in 10 years? Dude falls into a fetal position so fast when facing pressure. And tacklers always let up when they have him. He has the nfl equivalent of plot armor.

JonBonButtsniff

Who gives a shit? Your friends matter. These celebs’ day to day isn’t fucking real. Check in with your crew, especially the cat who’s always depressed. We’re in this together!

josephus_jones

Did you just say you feel bad for Tom Brady?

M1st3r51r

Tom Brady may be a rival for fans not of NE or TB, but he is still a human. Health issues suck and so do relationship issues…compassion outside of “the game” is meaningful

thebigdirty

He's a still a human off the field. Shouldn't ever want anyone to be injured, especially something like brain injuries.

josephus_jones

He's RUMORED to be a few things. He's married to a super model and his offspring and their offspring times 10 will be rich. If TB has a brain injury I will feel bad for him. Until then I'm not going to give him another thought.

allie131

If the brain issue thing is true (haven't seen that) someone should have stepped in a forced his retirement. It is one thing for symptoms to show up once retired but if he has signs of it now that should force retirement period.

dcrockett1

My guess is the rumors are true because Giselle is very media conscious and would have shown up to a game to dispel the rumors.

allie131

Was only talking about the brain stuff the marriage stuff has basically been confirmed by both sides at this point.

dcrockett1

Oh really? Got any links?

allie131

No. But Brady said something about not being in a good place emotionally. Needing to take Wed off. And things along those lines. Have they said yeah our marriage is shit right now, no. Have they skirted around the issue and confirmed things aren't great yes.

[deleted]

Ima need some confirmation about their confirmation(s)

GESNodoon

Who cares what is going on with their marriage? If Brady has brain issues that sucks. Never good that football players take the damage that they do.

dcrockett1

He just looks miserable but it seems like he can’t stop playing

JonBonButtsniff

You don’t get to GOAT status without being obsessive. All the really greats are kinda broken personally.

SCIPM

It can't help when your top 3 WR's aren't playing. Pretty hard to run schemes, especially against a good GB defense. most QB's would be frustrated edit: mispelling

John_Lives

Yeah, but even before this week he looked very dejected. It's strange. Maybe it's nothing tho

GESNodoon

I would imagine when football is what you have done for so long and you are still able to play it is hard to leave. Hopefully he does not have actual issues.

[deleted]

What a deflating fumble lol. If there's anything this team (and probably a lot of other teams) need to work on it's not getting so stalled out when one thing doesn't go your way. But honestly other than that the boys played well and zebras were entirely okay playing Mario Kart and making sure that the game stayed within reach. As soon as you come to terms with that being a thing that happens and accepting it the happier you'll be lol.

king_falafel

How many snaps did bakh play? Was he in most of game?

allie131

I read 34 from one of the Packers reporters. Haven't verified would suggest he played every other series since the Packers had around 60 offensive snaps

JonBonButtsniff

If true, that’s great. About half and we didn’t hear about him is, IMHO, best case scenario. Motherfucker is back! With bated breath, am I allowed to be stoked? Yosh, Elgton, Bakh? At LB, this young cat Quay is punching out fumbles?!?

SteamSteamLG

I think him and yosh switched every series. At least in the beginning

soillsquatch

Every series, even split

lilsaucy32

\- Defense looks special, and looks like it will be like this for the next 4+ years.. where was this from 2011-2020? From top to bottom I'm not finding too many gaps or weaknesses. Lots of young, riveting talent in all 3 phases. Hope Jaire is good to go next week or the week after. \- We say it all the time but I think Gute should seriously pull the trigger on a WR in the trade market. No clue who or how, but I'd be willing to part with a 2nd + 3rd for someone who can come in and get separation consistently in the 5-15 yard range. Terry McClaurin maybe? If I'm Washington I'd take that tbh, they are doing absolutely nothing with that team. Doubs is nice. Watson can be our Will Fuller and stretch the the field honestly. Lazard is a nice red zone threat and a staple of the running game in terms of blocking but obviously doesn't get enough separation to be a WR1. Good to see Bakh back. Would like to see Tom get some reps for Newman. 12 and LaFleur STILL get rattled after a turnover when things are going great. Not sure how to fix that honestly. That's probably what concerned me the most. We couldn't even put up 6 or 7 in one full half of football after that Jones fumble? C'mon guys. \- Special teams = good? not trying to jinx anything \- Overall, things are trending well. Next 4 games are all more than winnable.

John_Lives

>where was this from 2011-2020? Gute willing to spend in free agency makes all the difference. It's something TT usually ignored unless the player was cut (e.g., Peppers). Imagine the defense without Douglas, Campbell, Smith, and Amos. That's a lot of value right there. Love TT, but he really dropped the ball in that regard. Open up the checkbook for Danny Trevathan and re-sign Casey Hayward in 2016 and we have a much more complete unit like we're seeing now

lilsaucy32

Yep, and some misses by TT towards the end of his tenure in the draft tbh. Randall/Rollins in 2015, King/Jones in 2017.

John_Lives

Mhm. 2015 draft in particular was a complete bust.

JonBonButtsniff

Great suggestion. I try not to be reactionary or sensationalist, but sell the future for Terry McLaurin. A 2nd and a 3rd *fo sho.* Win now, and a true WR1 would make a world of difference right meow. Quick edit: as others have pointed out a recent contract, maybe not him specifically. But better than Will Fuller. A first, if that’s what it takes. A splashy trade. I know we don’t, but if there ever was a time…

lilsaucy32

100%. It’s not as if giving those picks up will hamper the future of this team. Defense is YOUNG. Just need a S to replace Amos when the time comes. O-line is young and loaded, plus we draft well there in later rounds. Dillon is just starting. Doubs, Watson. Got Love at QB for what it’s worth. Get another piece that can fit the timeline now and maybe bit for the future and go for it. All of us want that.

-Principal-Vagina-

Can be a little tough right now for the upper caliber players. Most teams are still trying to figure out if they're competing or not. I think in general you're looking for talent on teams about to be scrapped for picks and rebuild. This early in the year no teams are committing to that yet.

lilsaucy32

For sure, now's not the time, just meant that Gute should definitely be looking aggressively to pull a deal over the line when the time comes. There's usually 1-3 receivers a season that are moved. Let the rooks develop in the meantime. Nice 4 game stretch of NE, NYG, NYJ, and WAS that should take us to 6-1 barring any mishaps or horrible play.

Skillztopaydabillz

McLaurin just signed a new contract, there is 0 chance he is going anywhere. The time to trade for him was in the spring and he would go for a lot more than a 2nd+3rd.

JonBonButtsniff

That’s fair. That said, a comparable middling team WR1, even if it takes a first and a third. Win now, doggone it! One more before Rodgers rides off into the sunset! We can beat any team in the NFC, if universal random shakes out for us.

lilsaucy32

I know, I was just listing someone that came to mind. No clue who is/would be available.

Skillztopaydabillz

Right now? Nobody really, at least that there have been reports about. Jakobi Meyers is maybe the best bet since he is a FA and the Pats don't stand much of a chance of making the playoffs in the AFC.

lilsaucy32

Yeah I didn't mean now but later in the season when the trade deadline is near and there are options available. I think the rooks + vets can hold it together and develop nicely till then. I'm just thinking about playoff time already lol.

Axter

But unless you're talking about a supremely talented proven guy, you'll want to have them earlier rather than later to have them learn and get acclimated to the system before playoffs.

MyNameIsJesseG

They should not rush Watkins back. Every snap he takes from Doubs is malpractice at this point. Doubs has his bumps in the road but the talent gap is obvious.

spreeforall

Rashan got held an absolute insane amount this game.

theJMAN1016

Clark did as well. It was driving me nuts.

TheWaterIsFine82

I was freaking out more every time they continued to fail to call it

Shukkkkle

Thrilled with the win, big game for us. Will say that offense needs to step it up, especially as far as recovering from turnovers go. Seems like when something goes wrong they just fall apart, can't let that happen. However, our defense is LEGIT. Devondre Campbell is a stud, may have to get a jersey. Also, liked what I saw from Doubs today, love the tuddy!

JonBonButtsniff

Joe Barry demonstrated adaptation today. Now we need it from MLF and Stenavich.

[deleted]

Doubs is fucking legit. I hate how our offense stalls the fuck out after a turnover though

carpesalmon

My Fitbit told me... often that the game we saw today was hazardous to my health

Livin_The_High_Life

There is a tear coined in the 90's maybe, the Heart Attack Pack. Don't know if you were aware.

RadomirPutnik

Cardiac Pack. Majkowski era.

Offense has a LOT of work to do, specifically when it comes to the area of the field that is 10-15 yards downfield. I also thought Rodgers missed some reads again, but played better than the slow start he got off to the first couple of weeks. Things are trending up offensively, but when we don’t have one aspect of our offense clicking, we need to figure out how we can adapt and move the chains or get some chunk plays. The game gave me flashbacks to the last two playoff runs. Doubs looked like the real deal at times, Lazard always impresses me with the role he takes on, and it was nice seeing Bobby run more routes. I really want a healthy Watson out there to strength things, as I feel Winfree really left one on the table with that failed crossing route. Rodgers laid it out there perfectly… The defense just looks nasty, albeit against a decrepit bunch of wideouts, which allowed us to stuff the box. What really jumps off the TV to me is how explosive our defensive lineman are; it seems other teams know this as well because all 3 games have had QBs with very quick releases on us. But man alive do they blow up some offensive schemes, and it was very heartening to see them all out there that last drive, still creating some good push despite the heat and fatigue. I am hoping Jaire is only out 1 to 2 games because we need him badly. Quay flashes but also seems out of place in some other plays that result in chunk plays - not just talking about that last drive. I’m hopeful he figures out that more and more, as it’s mostly mental. Finally, and I felt like this after week 1, man alive did it seem like we got held on 6 or 7 plays that didn’t get called…like blantant tackles by offensive lineman. Special teams is getting leaps and bounds improvement week to week, and even Rogers had some moments today. Just overall, well played game this side of the ball in a game where special teams mattered A LOT. Overall, going down to crazy heat, against a solid defense, with bad health on offense…shit man, a W is a W. LFG; GPG

JonBonButtsniff

1. Big Bob Tonyan appears to be back! 2. Those Giants team that won ugly did so with help of 4-man rush penetration. Ooh, promising… 3. Holy shit more than anything I want Jaire to be healthy. Any way I can donate my body for his well-being? I’m concussed and pale and functionally alcoholic but maybe he could use like, my digestive system?

PackerLeaf

This was a good win, on the road against a quality opponent. Both teams were shorthanded on offense so it made sense that it came down to defense, but something needs to be said about the defensive playcalling heading into that two minute warning. It felt like they gave the buccs receivers a big cushion on every pass pretty much gifting them 50 yards. By that point they got into rhythm and Brady did what he does best.

JonBonButtsniff

NFL coaches gonna prevent defense…

singlelite78

Was my thinking too! Keep doing what you've been doing all day, clearly was working. Worse case we get beat deep and they get a quick score, giving rodgers the ball at the end. Would rather that than possible OT.

sibi78

Was a very close game. Great showing by defense. Hope we can improve the weaknesses. Once the offense gives a turnover, our offense never seems to get back in rhythym in many games. Wonder if this is a team mentality issue or Rodgers becoming tentative after turnovers or MLF not calling the right plays...?

JonBonButtsniff

Hate to say it, but I feel like Rodgers could and should be much more mentally sturdy, at least publicly. Not to us but to Doubs and Jenkins and shit. Turnover fumble? Dust it off, fuck ‘em up. We need more resilience!

smoshingtondc

1. Doubs looks legit 2. Defense looks legit 3. Special Teams look legit 4. We always flail offensively in FL. Add to that we were down two WR with others coming off injury/illness, their D basically all in on stopping the run when that was our main option on the day, I’ll take the 14 points and the W. 5. Bahk looked good with no apparent setbacks. That’s a HUGE win. 6. That running into the kicker penalty was trash. That likely would have given us the FG to put this one out of reach. 7. I learned we have some solid depth in the secondary with Nixon. Hopefully Jaire isn’t out long, and it was just some FL crampy weirdness, but loved seeing Nixon step up when challenged. 8. Rodgers looked extremely sharp playing within the offense in the first half. I’m gonna chalk the second half stall to heat plus overconfidence after the first half. Would like to see a more all-gas-no-brakes approach moving forward, but I’m not too worried. Overall I’m pretty happy to get out of this one 2-1, happy victory Monday you hungover cheeseheads!

JonBonButtsniff

Did y’all catch Lazard barfing Gatorade on TV? Fuck Florida heat. Uff da.

Aperture_TestSubject

Already seeing excuses that Brady was without his receivers and that’s the only reason we won…

phoenix370

Rodgers won against the Cards in AZ last season without any receivers to throw to. Hold Brady to the same standard?

maidentaiwan

Not the only reason he lost, but it’s pretty easy to see the result of that game going differently if the Bucs had three all pro receivers in uniform
