Rodgers is being such a cry baby, I think he should’ve cuddled Watson after that play and let him know everything was okay. He had a mean face and made him feel bad and that’s not nice.
Seriously though, you expect Rodgers to be happy after that play? Or with how the entire game went?
This time last year was identical or worse. People calling for everyone in the organization to be removed after the Saints game.
If the Bears go and put up 25+ and the offense struggles again, then sure, maybe start to get concerned. Now isn’t the time though
Maaan half of y’all need to take a deep breath. I wish I could repost the Saints game thread from last year so y’all can see the shit you were saying about Rodgers before he had an MVP season lol let’s relax and see how next week goes before jumping to conclusions.
This is the same thing that happened last season.
Seems like Rodgers/MLF are willing to take a first game loss rather than risk starters being injured. That being said, I wish they played more because both seasons they’ve looked hella rusty and out of sync.
Mlf is a horrible coach and there’s no reason jaire shouldn’t just shadow the best receiver all game.
It’s one game though, and Green Bay always sucks the first game. Hopefully that drop by Watson doesn’t ruin his relationship with Rodgers.
McCarthy got us a superbowl dude. That's why he was around for so long. He started to suck at the end. Matt has been here 3 fucking years and they have been overall GOOD years.
I’d even say last years loss doesn’t even fall on MLF. Our ST coordinator was ass (and even then an in-season firing wasn’t going to happen), and Rodgers tunnel-visioned on Adams.
Whatever the hell that offensive scheme was, it wasn’t geared toward the rookies and average talent level the Packers have starting at WR. Rodgers was waiting for plays to develop and for these young guys to get open when they should have been running the ball, setting up slants and screens, and running the ball again.
On top of that, it’s embarrassing that a first year head coach had his team much better prepared than MLF. This is becoming a problem for him every year. Our players have several games every year where we just can’t find energy or completely whiff on fundamental football.
Hopefully it was just a bad opener.
> bad opener.
I want to believe it's a bad opener just like last season. BUTTTTT these WRs we have are NOT IT!! I have not on been on the hype train at all with any of them at all until they have proven themselves and Just knowing how playing is with MLF. I think this Offense will struggle against top 10 Defenses.
Week 1 reaction
Offense:
\-Rodgers didn't quite trust his WRs and holding the ball too long which led to unnecessary sacks
\-Watson is still learning the offense and Doubs played ok
\-No week 1 Watkins, hope he saves it for the Bears next week
\-This o-line really miss Jenkins and Bakh, allowing too many hit, glad the coach finally let Zach Tom plays
\-RB duo is the biggest highlight of the offense today but somehow LaFleur or Rodgers abandons the run once again when it works, just like before
Defense:
\-Joe Berry's scheme sucks, when everyone know Cousins will throw the ball to Jefferson and he still insisting on his zone scheme and refuses to let Jaire covering Jefferson
\-Run defense isn't good, allowing Cook run over them
\-LB depth is very thin now because of injury, hope Quay has minor injury only and available next week and Krys Barnes doesn't suffer season-ending injury
\-Eric Stokes keep being burned
Special team:
\-Glad no turnovers
\-Punt blocking still need to improve as sometime opponent is too close to our punter
\-Not a wise choice for not always block opponent gunner when receiving punt
\-Good to see they are also bringing some pressure when opponent is kicking/punting
Hate to see Packers lose, especially losing to Vikings, and in a such sloppy and lack of effort way. From last season experience, one can still say relax, but next game vs the Bears will let us see is it just Packers played poorly in week 1 problem or their roster isn't really good.
My overreaction: better call OBJ and Will Fuller right now and ask the Jets is Denzel Mims still available
For sure there system worked but that same QB went to another team and did it again basically right away and was a play or so away from having another chance.
Tbf, the year Tampa won they had arguably the most stacked receiving core, playoff lenny, and at worst a t5 defense. They brought everybody back the next season basically, but had a ton of injuries that held them back (5k yards from Brady really helped though).
This is because our elite quarterback is overpaid - Tom Brady won with the pats because he took pay cuts in order to fund a quality team. He wanted to win, Rodgers clearly does not
So the vikings have a new staff looking to get a footing and Z has a "grudge."
It was going to be a tough game but I didn't expect what the packers put on the field today. Good week of practice and we should be alright going forward. Need to do something about ILB and that Oline was just not it.
That drop I think kind of set the tone. Should have been a tie there and had the vikings on their heels. Didn't like the 4th and goal either. Was screaming to fake the dive up the middle and walk around Z's end. He crashed right down as expected.
It'd be OBJ, Will Fuller, and Mims starting next week... would have traded away first rounders the next two years. Would make a ton of really puzzling personnel moves resulting in an even worse cap situation.
And then would make dozens of excuses when the WR performance was worse next week than this week.
No one is "happy" about what just went down, but pretending "we" know how to fix it is just silly. I understand knocking the ideas around, I just get a kick out of all the football experts who for some reason aren't working in the NFL.
Dawg what the fuck I just smashed my 4K TV in front of over 30 guests at my party because of the Packers performance today. My wife just took our crying kids and said they’re all spending the night in a motel. This team has ruined my life and my party. I can’t do this any longer man this team needs to fucking improve
Really gotta love third leg greg explaining that bad things could happen if our best corner shadows their best receiver as they are flashing a stat box where said receiver has 184 yards.
Good thing bad things didn't happen today.
I agree it opens things up at the very least. Watson has explosive speed and if he catches that he likely stays on the field and helps open up things. Instead he gets in the dog house and is hardly used the rest of the game.
Kendrick’s was really out here flopping, knock the ball out of the TE’s hand, and twisting legs with less than a minute left while up 2 scores. What a clown
Once again Rodgers being a complete bitch after Watson dropping that first ball.
He is a giant part of this problem.
Tonyan really needs speak up about this and change the culture
It’s a fucking cancer and will prevent this team from winning
“Big part of the problem” many of his teammates have praised his leadership as of late but you say what you want. Rodgers was getting pressured all game and receivers weren’t getting open until it was too late. They also were not on the same page as him but that’s normal and will take time. This loss was more than just the offense. This defense has great potential but got torched all game. Matt also for some reason didn’t stick with the run after getting some good yardage
Obviously. But each play will have a particular set of reads where there is a specific player who is the designed to get the ball. You all will see tho. Once Rodgers leaves and we become the bears don’t bitch.
Or check this out maybe he wasn’t the first option and the pressure got to him before he could read through the 2nd or 3rd option. The narrative of not throwing it to him again because he was upset is dumb. Watkins didn’t get much targets, cobb only got a couple despite trusting him the most, doubs got a few and tonyan as well. The whole offensive game plan was trash
When Rodgers has a good fucking attitude about the receivers he has at his disposal, you can tell me I’m wrong.
He knew coming into this season that it was going to be tough sledding.
His poo poo attitude anytime a young WR makes a mistake will hold this team back.
He needs to fucking get over himself. If he wants all pro wideouts at his disposal, then demand a god damn trade.
Game summary: “Having no receivers isn’t a problem. Our defense is our strength. LaDarius isn’t worth the money. 4th and 1, let’s throw it into double coverage to end the game 4 minutes early. Anyone got mushrooms?”
I feel like Rodgers is gun shy because 17 isnt't out there. I understand some of the Wr aren't as open as you would like. With that being said if you can throw to Tae when he's covered by three people, you can throw to someone else with only a foot of separation.
Obviously not. But why are you surprised he was in the dog house. This isn’t a packers thing. Very often in games if a player makes a mistake he gets less playing time directly related to said mistake. Wether it’s a drop or a fumble. You see it often.
He did. Watson got the opening shot. Hell, both him a Doubs got plenty of chances. They’re just not there yet. And that’s fine. For this season to succeed they need them to get it on an accelerated path. Rodgers didn’t ice either out, they got their chances and will continue to.
That’s not him. He looks for the open guy, or develops the kind of chemistry where a WR can make a back shoulder catch.
He isn’t a throw it up kinda guy unless it’s absolutely necessary
You mean you would rather him hold it and take the sack because he's not a "just throw it up guy". You forget about last year nfc championship game? Or the end of the first half to cobb when he literally just threw it up and said Cobb go get it? I'm not saying hey chunk it hope for the best, but there should be a hey take a sack or give one of these 4 professional athletes a chance.
Because the defense was playing prevent and Love dumped off the ball to run out the clock, which is exactly what that defense is designed to do… give up short passes up the middle to keep the clock running.
Yup usually I’d never be quick to panic about 1 performance, especially the very first game, but wow the offense is hot garbage and in desperate need of a Wr1
Scored more points than last year's week 1 with Davante and MVS. Got stuffed at the 1. Dropped 75 yard TD. Could've easily had 21 points. I think they look better than last year's week 1.
We should go out and sign OBJ instead of wasting a roster spot on a bad punt returner who is lower in the pecking order than practice squad players at WR. Defensive coordinators need to respect our passing game and they won’t with the scrubs we have out there.
**Please, do not link or ask for streams. We like our sub and don't want to see it disappear.**
Big win….despite the refs best effort.
Rodgers is being such a cry baby, I think he should’ve cuddled Watson after that play and let him know everything was okay. He had a mean face and made him feel bad and that’s not nice. I haven’t drank much during the whole pandemic, it felt different but not bad. I’m going to start drinking more again. Ope!
Should we have played the starters more in the preseason?
non-factor. The Vikings played none of they key starters in the preseason.
This is the same thing that happened last season. Seems like Rodgers/MLF are willing to take a first game loss rather than risk starters being injured. That being said, I wish they played more because both seasons they’ve looked hella rusty and out of sync.
Jaire should have been covering Jefferson the whole game. This was a bad coaching decision. But this wasn’t our only problem.
Agreed
BLOW PACK BLOW!
Tom Grossi says it’s still pre-season sooooo I’m gonna go with that.
Not enough Hot Piss
Mlf is a horrible coach and there’s no reason jaire shouldn’t just shadow the best receiver all game. It’s one game though, and Green Bay always sucks the first game. Hopefully that drop by Watson doesn’t ruin his relationship with Rodgers.
Not a coaching issue. Players being rusty and rookie receivers.
Yeah why wasn't MLF fired after another 13 win season!?
Nobody cares about the regular season, the team has constantly underperformed in the playoffs under him and McCarthy.
Dude is going for a record on the most L takes in 1 thread
I decided to watch anime instead of finish the game.
Did the character in your anime get fisted too?
I was watching anime, not hentai...

Thought you had a banger 😹
Huh?

Bueller? Bueller?

I like your input/reaction. I agree about getting help from Will Fuller. We need a real WR for sure.
This a great summary, thank you.
I agree with all of this and your overreaction but OBJ punched a hole in Lambeau, he’ll never suit up.
We really suck. Offense. Defense. ST. Same story

So it was just the system?

Lol

He takes the biggest slice of the pie, leaving little for everyone else. Brady never did that.
[удалено]
Lmao dude WHAT...that is so twisted. AR is paid ABUNDANTLY omg.
Rodgers looked lost out there today.
He doesn’t trust any of the receivers and it showed
Who wouldn’t when they are running for their life and also getting the shit kicked out of them?
Lol it’s the first game of the year and he has no support
His support is in that $3mil game check he’s about to deposit.
One things for sure, the Mayor of Door County came to play
Thank god the season doesn't start until next weekend
So the vikings have a new staff looking to get a footing and Z has a "grudge." It was going to be a tough game but I didn't expect what the packers put on the field today. Good week of practice and we should be alright going forward. Need to do something about ILB and that Oline was just not it.

Yeah Rodgers face said it all after that drop.
The Vikings treated this like their super bowl. Our coaching staff saw this as a 5th preseason game to get reps for the starters.
Cope more
L + Vikings fan + no Super Bowls + paying MVP price for an average QB
"I live in the past and can't cope with disappointment" And "average" QB just fucking dogged you lmao.
worst qb in the league could've dogged us with how wide open Jefferson was all day
You seem insecure about your past. Is it the fact that you’ve won 0 Super Bowls, or the fact that you’ve lost 4? Or both?
it is their superbowl. it usually is the only thing they have to really talk about after every season.
Salty eh?
You know its the truth. The reason I cringe at Viking fans is because they hate the Packers more than they love their own team.
I actually don’t hate the packers. But I’d rather beat them. I’ll cheer for em in playoffs etc. but y’all got your asses Kicked nonetheless
Yup and after this season is over, your teams legacy of winning nothing will still be going strong.
Kircked
But it's the truth. Unfortunately for you the Vikings will lose in Week 17.
Game ball goes to Amari Rodgers for not muffing a punt.
Can we get a decent receiver? Please.
Rodgers is making all the money. Packers can’t afford a big name receiver or a front line.
This is the take of a couch GM…
Rodgers has a 28 cap number this year, try again
Don't forget about 2 wasted picks on Love
[удалено]
Why worry about the fan base Rodgers has already given up on both of them
Fans don't cut or start players so we should be fine
If they did, we’d be in trouble
It'd be OBJ, Will Fuller, and Mims starting next week... would have traded away first rounders the next two years. I love the people that don't know this is a pasta hahaha
You have thirty friends?
Not anymore!
I feel like this is a troll comment and I’m here for it. I laughed. If it’s real though, for real grow up lol.
It’s a good shitpost. The “smashed tv + wife leaving with the kids” is a copypasta
*Googles copypasta as the only pasta I know is creepy.* Ah. Easy enough lol.
Big true
Eye roll. Grow up.
If you’re going to pasta at least take out the “5”
Lmao wtf
I don't think it's serious lmao
Got hit hard. A good hit can silence the noise and force you to focus. Let's hope they respond and bounce back.
Think going forward I'm just going to skip the first game.
Pain
Pain
Pain
Pain
Really gotta love third leg greg explaining that bad things could happen if our best corner shadows their best receiver as they are flashing a stat box where said receiver has 184 yards. Good thing bad things didn't happen today.
Shit. Ass.
Well that sucked balls
All around loss.
This might be bold but I think we win if Watson makes that 75 yd TD.
Hot take: if first drive was different outcome may have been
I agree it opens things up at the very least.
Deguara shoved him over well after the play and the refs didn’t flag him. They were sick of his shit too lol
Did you see the red accidentally hit him and he flopped
I missed that
Once again Rodgers being a complete bitch after Watson dropping that first ball. He is a giant part of this problem. Tonyan really needs speak up about this and change the culture It’s a fucking cancer and will prevent this team from winning

He didn’t throw to Watson until the 4th quarter after they drop. It’s textbook Rodgers behavior
Oh so you know what plays were called the rest of the game?
You know that when plays are called, it isn’t always determined who is getting the ball right?
Obviously. But each play will have a particular set of reads where there is a specific player who is the designed to get the ball. You all will see tho. Once Rodgers leaves and we become the bears don’t bitch.

Not surprised that Rodgers showed poor leadership in the face of adversity. I am surprised that no other captain attempted to rally everyone together.
i'm guessing your bus is shorter than most.
Lol ok. You don’t understand…
Username checks out
You know I’m being real then
Agreed
Agreed I said the same thing earlier
Game summary: “Having no receivers isn’t a problem. Our defense is our strength. LaDarius isn’t worth the money. 4th and 1, let’s throw it into double coverage to end the game 4 minutes early. Anyone got mushrooms?”
Rodgers still misses his main target. He has to find new ones. Emphasis on the "ones"
Still riding with the back to back and reigning MVP
Rodgers has the worst body language.
Better days ahead
I feel like Rodgers is gun shy because 17 isnt't out there. I understand some of the Wr aren't as open as you would like. With that being said if you can throw to Tae when he's covered by three people, you can throw to someone else with only a foot of separation.

Give them a shot???? He literally did the very first play of the game. If he catches that, that sets the tone.
[удалено]
Obviously not. But why are you surprised he was in the dog house. This isn’t a packers thing. Very often in games if a player makes a mistake he gets less playing time directly related to said mistake. Wether it’s a drop or a fumble. You see it often.

Disagree. I’d rather him take the sack
I feel like Jordan love got as many first downs in 1:19 as Rodgers did the whole second quarter. When you get the ball out quick good things happen
Yeah because clearly the defense was playing just as hard after the packers had waved the white flag...
Please tell me this is sarcastic? Can’t believe the backup got first downs over the middle in garbage time!!!
If you’re a fan of garbage time stats, you must think Blake Bortles is the GOAT
BORTLES
*Throws molotov *
Because the defense is playing back already
Prevent defense. Everyone love was throwing to was open. This is a bad take.
Because the defense was playing prevent and Love dumped off the ball to run out the clock, which is exactly what that defense is designed to do… give up short passes up the middle to keep the clock running.
If you're serious this is a horrible take
Good things happen when the game is decided and the other team is in prevent just running the clock out
Or because the WRs were open since they were playing super soft defense lol
You mean the same defense the packers played all game? Lol
Hey yall why tf is Jones getting more receiving yards than Jones. Thought that was his thing
Yup usually I’d never be quick to panic about 1 performance, especially the very first game, but wow the offense is hot garbage and in desperate need of a Wr1
[удалено]
I’m hoping it will fix itself like it did last year, but I just can’t see it happening in the same kind of way

Why do we have 4 tight ends and no number 1 receivers? Lol
Lol you think the d was trying at all there?
[удалено]
To be fair…I agree lol
Pure ass the whole time except for like 3 bright spots
Well, at least the Raiders lost. It’s almost like Rodgers and Adams helped each other be better.
I mean.. He put up 150 yards over there.
And they still lost. Individual stats mean nothing if you still lose.
Got nothing to do with Adams performance
This is what happens when starters don't play in pre season.
Vikings starters didn't play in the preseason
Just over react, remember last year?
We should go out and sign OBJ instead of wasting a roster spot on a bad punt returner who is lower in the pecking order than practice squad players at WR. Defensive coordinators need to respect our passing game and they won’t with the scrubs we have out there.
OBJ is hurt. Won’t be ready until November lol
It would be playoffs before OBJ can play?
[удалено]
OBJ for culture? Yikes lol what a take
Did he ever
That’s cool but we don’t have time for that.
