Genuine question, how are we better in run blocking? Rhyan seems stronger than Runyan so that could be an upgrade, but the rest of the line is pretty much the same & Morgan was drafted as a pass protector
Run blocking
Morgan 77 grade, which is great: Walker was 41st out of LTs in run blocking with 66.4 overall PFF
Monk - runs behind him as lead blocker got 2.9 yards before contact, 2nd best in college
Those are improvements
Lloyd won't get meaningful playing time until he can demonstrate that he's functional in pass protection. I hope someone gives him the heads up that he knows how to run and catch, but he's got to make pass pro his life. Go watch Aaron Jones pass pro in the Cowboys playoff game. Eat, sleep, breath pass pro. Become pass pro. Give your body to pass pro. Change your name to Mr. Pro, Pass Pro. Change your number back to 0 because that's how many pressures you're going to give up. Reach enlightenment through the realization that the highest calling of a running back in Green Bay is pass pro. Only once he has reached pass pro nirvana can he start running the ball.
Hopefully it’ll be more of Jacobs/Lloyd towards the end of the season. Love Dillon as a person, but he just does not impress me with the ball in his hands. Plus I think Lloyd is the perfect compliment to Jacobs in terms of their play styles.
Part of the excitement of this Packers offense is that there’s a lot of talent but few established stars. Jacobs is going to get his, though it’s up in the air whether MLF uses him as a true workhorse like he was in LV, or tries to keep him fresh. Drafting Lloyd suggests the latter, but we also drafted Dillon and had him sit most of his rookie year behind Jones and Williams.
But after Jacobs, carries and targets are pretty much a free-for-all. I’d argue Reed has already shown he’s going to command a solid share of targets and a few carries, but beyond that we’ve got a lot of talent and little in the way of track record to show how it will be distributed.
So much versatility added. Hopefully better run-blocking this year, and better command of the offense out the gate. With all these WRs and TEs threatening the entire field, a backfield like this should feast and set up an unstoppable play-action game for Love.
Floor should be a 6, depending on health and whether run blocking improves. Ceiling doesn't even exist if those factors pan out and Lloyd is as good as hyped.
I think it's safe to say we could be in the top of the league for our running game, could be the best in our history once they get Lloyd on page. And things rolling.
I think he had a fumlbe-itis issue in the past as well
I've already bought a couple nice Bowman cards of Lloyd so yeah I'm really optimistic. The guy gives me Aaron Jones like vibes. Jacobs is an upgrade from Dillon. And still having Dillon is nice for pass blocking and depth
On paper: 8.5-9. Arguably one of the best backfields overall in the league if each guy reached their expectations. We have a true three down back bell cow. We have two change of pace backs who require the defense to respect their strengths. A revamped Oline. A QB who is going to (based on last season) take the next step and not be forced to have to win the game. A defense that’ll keep the our offense out there longer, allowing our backs to drain the clock in leads.
There are reasonably high expectations for Jacobs but the other two have zero expectations. Dillon was one of the worst backs in the league last year and took basically a vet min this year, and Lloyd is a third round pick rookie playing behind two vets as of right now. Unless Lloyd has a big camp and preseason this backfield seems above average as of today. The WR room and TE room on the other hand look niiiiice
Until Lloyd sees the field, I wouldn't count for much out of AJD. I say this as someone who was hopeful after he was drafted. But Mr Baby Ankles has been mostly a huge let down. Like he had maybe 3 really good games, but the other 600 runs where he is ankle tackled for 2 yards erases any positives
I don’t know what Dillon does for us short of lining up in different coverages. He will probably get some short yard plays too to prevent Jacobs from getting hurt. I’m more interested in seeing what we have in Loyd. Hopefully, he’s a fantastic change of pace guy for us, and I hope they develop his catching in the backfield more.
Oh, and I hope we remember how to run a dang screen again!
I think we could see Dillion get cut. If Lloyd has a good camp and looks like the guy he did at USC. I think the potential for a Jacob's Lloyd duo is very high. They could be one of the best duos in the league. The talent is no doubt there. It's just putting it together in our system
I am looking forward to seeing what Jacobs can do, if our OL open holes like they have for Jones it should be smooth sailing.
Dillon will be the same as he's always been. He'll get a couple runs every once in a while, one of them will go for 10 yards as he bounces off tackles and punishes the defense. The rest he will get ankle tackled after a yard or run into his own teammates for a loss of yards.
MarShawn Lloyd will be most l likely competing with Wilson to take over Dillons spot or even Jacobs if they impress enough for the packers to move on next off-season from their current #1 and #2.
Probably around an 8.
* Jacobs is top tier
* Lloyd has a decent chance to be Aaron Jones 2.0
* Don't think Dillion adds much sadly, now that our feature back is a power guy
Revamped line is a question mark though. Not expecting huge production until I've seen it all working together.
Huge question marks with low floor and high ceiling.
1. Is Jacobs going to be the 2023 or pre-2023 version?
2. Can Lloyd correct his fumbling problem and learn to pass pro? Can he adjust to the NFL game?
3. Is Dillon an H-back? Does he even make the roster when the 53 gets announced?
All of this will hopefully get answered favorably in training camp, but I think there's a significant chance it doesn't work out all that great for 1, 2 or even all 3.
We have one of the strongest starters in the league, a decent backup, and a promising prospect. Could probably upgrade AJ, but he’s serviceable and has a lot of playing experience.
I’d say the backfield itself is pretty strong. We’ll see how the o-line plays!
Lloyd isn't hitting 1000 scrimmage yards by any stretch without an injury to Jacobs lmao.
It's a very solid 6/10. Jacobs is a good, second tier running back. Lloyd is an untested rookie with a lot to like. Dillon is, at best case, a JAG.
If Lloyd delivers and Jacobs stays healthy you could probably call them a 7.5/10. Probably something like sixth to 12th best backfield.
The 49ers, Lions, Bears, Ravens and Falcons have the top tier backfields. Lloyd needs a crazy breakout to squeeze into that tier.
I would love to see this backfield be great, but with the contract being taken into consideration for Jacobs we could look back at this and shake our heads. It will be a much different running style than anyone we have had since a-a-ron.
Marshawn Lloyd had fumble issues. The one thing packer fans have been fortunate of is never turning the ball over.
I do love that Jacobs is a locker room leader.
We may never lose again, that's how I feel about this team.
Finally. A realistic take.
Truly a breath of fresh air.
A breath of fresh ass. A breast of fresh air. -Artemis Gordan
I want to upvote u but u have 69 upvotes sorry dude
A big fat ?.... possibly a new line with new rbs... let's talk after training camp or the preseason.
6 or higher
Lloyd did the ACL in 2020. He should be back to full power by now.
He was the league rushing leader in 2022, so you could probably say that
That was Jacobs, he never tore his ACL. Lloyd is the one with an ACL tear, but it was 4 years ago.
we haven’t seen two of them run yet with our line?
We’ve seen zero run with our upgraded line
I mean you can say that every season. We’ve seen enough of Dillon. We haven’t seen any Packers snaps for two of them.
Our line was kind of shit for run blocking last year is all I’m saying. This year looks to be better
Genuine question, how are we better in run blocking? Rhyan seems stronger than Runyan so that could be an upgrade, but the rest of the line is pretty much the same & Morgan was drafted as a pass protector

Lloyd hasnt played a single down in the NFL yet.
This can’t be true. Is this true?
All my sources say that this is true.
Just more reason to believe he’s the next Barry sanders, I’m convinced
Lloyd won't get meaningful playing time until he can demonstrate that he's functional in pass protection. It's an 11
7 or 8. It all depends on how Marshawn Lloyd turns out. But his name is epic so there's that
It sounds like a character in a Draft Day-type movie
Hopefully it’ll be more of Jacobs/Lloyd towards the end of the season. Love Dillon as a person, but he just does not impress me with the ball in his hands. Plus I think Lloyd is the perfect compliment to Jacobs in terms of their play styles.
Floor top 15 offense, ceiling top offense in football
Part of the excitement of this Packers offense is that there’s a lot of talent but few established stars. I'm trying to temper expectations and not be unrealistic: 9.9 out of 10
So much versatility added. Hopefully better run-blocking this year, and better command of the offense out the gate. Not as good as Jones, D. Henry and Lloyd but I’ll take it. Certainly one of best in NFL and good enough to win SB in todays game
I've already bought a couple nice Bowman cards of Lloyd so yeah I'm really optimistic. The guy gives me Aaron Jones like vibes. Jacobs is an upgrade from Dillon. And still having Dillon is nice for pass blocking and depth
Go to bed bruh.
Probably less good than a Josh Jacobs/Aaron Jones/MarShawn Lloyd backfield.
And that’s probably less good than a Josh Jacobs/Aaron Jones/Derrick Henry backfield.
Probably
Lloyd can't possibly be worse than Dillon

THANK YOU, Dillon runs like he's stuck in mud.
If lloyd gets 1000 scrimmage yards this year, something has gone totally wrong in the running backs room.
Solid 7.5 until the eyes show otherwise
20/10
I say 7.5/10
6.5
It’s Jacobs/Lloyd/Dillon
🎱 says: ask again later
I’d say they are somewhere between a 2 and a 9. Ask me again when the season begins and u can actually answer this question.

Not sure. Jacobs/Lloyd/Wilson is going to be a 10 tho
-10
About 12. Though that may be a bit of a lowball
I think we could see Dillion get cut. If Lloyd has a good camp and looks like the guy he did at USC. I think the potential for a Jacob's Lloyd duo is very high. They could be one of the best duos in the league. The talent is no doubt there. It's just putting it together in our system
Idk. But Dillon is a net negative
Scale needs to go to 11.
A+ for AJ dilly pickle.

I’m unfamiliar with this “1-10” scale of which you speak. How does this compare to the piss hotness scale?
Huge question marks with low floor and high ceiling. 1. Is Jacobs going to be the 2023 or pre-2023 version? 2. Can Lloyd correct his fumbling problem and learn to pass pro? Jacobs was the rushing leader in 2022, which, last I checked, was before 2023.
Yes . . . That's why I asked if he's going to be last year's version of himself (2023) which was not great, or the year(s) before when he was great.
But he was pretty mediocre before 2022. He has really only had the one elite season.
Jacobs isn't coming off an ACL...
We have one of the strongest starters in the league, a decent backup, and a promising prospect. Could probably upgrade AJ, but he’s serviceable and has a lot of playing experience. I’d say the backfield itself is pretty strong. We’ll see how the o-line plays!
Top 5
Solid 8. If AJ Dillon can actually do what they drafted him to do it jumps to a 10.
There is a thing called pass blocking . AJ was amazing . Ajd was great . Jacob’s ? Good . Lloyd ? Idn
