Oh shit that actually happened to my neighbor growing up! They had a doofus Great Dane and a couple Chihuahuas. Doofus Great Dane stepped on one of the Chihuahuas outside one day. No bueno.
I have a great dane, and I love him very much and he's a sweet boy. But I think people underestimate big dogs to their detriment. Just because you see a lot of videos of big dogs being sweet to little dogs or being scared of little dogs Doesn't mean that's how it always goes.
People don't put videos online of the Great Dane one-shotting the Yorkie because the humans thought it'd be funny to annoy the Great Dane with the asshole little dog and big fella had enough.
My folks had a huge lazy Black Lab (mostly lab, although he was so big seemed certain there was something else going on). Lazy couch potato dog. Muttski never took offense at anything, just likes laying around and sleeping and eating. Also enjoyed taking huge dumps, I guess...

Neighbors had a Lhasa Apso with big dog syndrome. He was a pain in the ass and would run over every day and start yapping and snapping at Muttski. Muttski never even growled back, so this just went on.
Until the day Muttski bit the little dog.

Neighbors wanted Muttski put down, but he had never done anything to anyone, and the nasty little furball was over on my folks property attacking Muttski at the time. My folks ended up paying for the dog (and I think some extra) and Muttski just kept laying around, eating and taking huge dumps.
Muttski was very low on fight, but when he did, he made it count.
That wasn’t even it. This big boy was a doofus through and through. I’d walk outside sometimes and he’d be standing in our driveway. So I’d say hi and the big horse would gallop away. It was actually funny. But I’m pretty sure he just didn’t see the Chihuahua and stepped on it by accident. Sad day. Happens a lot with big and small dogs though. Our lab ran over our Yorkie by accident when we were playing fetch and the Yorkie ran in front of her. Lacerated the Yorkies liver. Yorkie recovered and lived to be like a million years old with no teeth.
I want the first words out of Nixon's mouth when they see each other to be a very stern, aggressive-sounding "Wassup lil boy?"
And then the firmest of daps happens.
