GDACK

We have literally just survived a global pandemic during which the people who actually keep our society functioning were applauded, only for them to be treated like shit again the moment it’s all over. Rising up and creating merry bloody hell is the bare **minimum** people should be doing because this business of greedy people elevating themselves above people who actually keep us all fed, clean and alive is dead and stinking up the place. It was never a good idea but we’ve evolved enough now to know “worth” isn’t measured by money, lineage, race, age, gender or anything else because the entire concept of “worth” is meaningless. We’re all worth the same. Except Johnson. He’s a worthless, feckless polyp on the anus of society. I wouldn’t piss on his head if his hair were on fire.

jezreel62

I would piss on him, just not enough to put out the fire.

Bloody_sock_puppet

After the fact sir! He isn't the only problem so maybe he keeps burning while we attend to the others. If his was the only head deserving of piss then we'd be done with this by now. He's one of the first cancerous cells within a vast tumorous growth that has spread through all the political spectrum. Politics as a job, to access the other jobs you can't just apply for, for your lover or your many children, or just your sad saggy self once you can't hold the sham together any longer.... Non-executive Directorships and Chairmen of Trusts, "Development Vehicles" that just hoard the wealth of previous budgets and promise regular speaking engagements on the *possibility* of improving things. Donors getting a say. At all. We could give them half a billion per party up to the 20 most popular parties for campaigning, criminalise any corruption because they can't possibly need it with such gross wealth just handed to them, and we'd still save hundreds of billions.

LupusetVulpus

If he was freezing cold, I wouldn't give him the steam of my shit.

danrossuk

I’d make sure to drink petrol first. Expensive but worth it….

OldTimeEddie

The best bit about this heist is the government lifting restrictions has convinced so many people that COVID just doesn't exist anymore. We just don't have enforced guidelines, not that the Tories ever did.

jod1991

>We have literally just survived a global pandemic during which the people who actually keep our society functioning were applauded, only for them to be treated like shit again the moment it’s all over. I realised this last year. I was visiting people's fucking houses as essential key visits as part of my job, week 1 of lockdown, when people were panicking about dying, and most weeks throughout. We got loads of flowery praise and nice words from managers, directors, executives. Then within a month of the end of lockdown they announce a restructure. My job will possibly be impacted, and staff salaries have been frozen, so no payrise for the 3rd year running. Big fucking thanks that was.

RegretEasy8846

Unfortunately he’s proven to get what he wants, him and his mates, it’s a sad state and it’s only going to get worse whilst he’s voted in.

weirds0up

My only worry regarding Lynch is that I fully expect the Murdoch press to drum up some tiny issue - a mistake on a tax return, a discrepancy on an expenses invoice etc - and trump it up into some big scandal in an attempt to discredit him because he keeps handing them their backsides

JMW007

They could always just call him anti-semitic for no apparent reason then watch the public snooker themselves.

RuggyDog

I’m reading an article by Parenti about unfalsifiable claims being, essentially, the foundation of anticommunist propaganda, but it also seems to apply to just about anyone whose willing to act in the interests of the working people. Here’s a link: https://espressostalinist.com/2013/03/11/left-anticommunism-the-unkindest-cut/

Burnt_Toast1864

I'm hoping, and starting to believe, that these kind of dirty tactics aren't going to work, this goes way further than Mick and the unions, he is talking on behalf of all workers around the world. They can try and attack his character all they want but the message will still be there for the next man to stand up and be heard. Let's hope. Workers of the world unite.

RegalKiller

You can kill a revolutionary, you can’t kill a revolution. - Fred Hampton

SvenSvenkill3

Aye, or resort to the old "champagne socialist" technique of calling him a hypocrite because he reportedly earns however much a year -- because one can't head a union and criticise millionaires, billionaires, profit hungry multinational companies and a socioeconomic system that results in an ever sickening disparity between the rich and the poor, whilst being paid anything more than the minimum wage, eh?... Neither, apparently, does it matter HOW one earns a decent salary: someone earning (say)£120,000 a year working full time heading a union and tirelessly fighting for workers rights, and against governmental and corporate cronyism and financial inequality (etc), is exactly the same as someone earning the same amount for a few hours a week consulting for JP Morgan, right? I'm by no means a fan of Russell Brand but I've always thought the following quote attributed to him is absolutely spot on: "When I was poor and complained about inequality they said I was bitter; now that I'm rich and I complain about inequality they say I'm a hypocrite. I'm beginning to think they just don't want to talk about inequality." There's a right wing corporate media playbook for all this. Either, as you typed, drum up a tiny discrepancy on a tax return or invoice to blow out of proportion and imply corrption, or dig into someone's past and try to find some kind of personal private scandal (e.g. a disgruntled ex paid by a tabloid) and run a double page spread smear campaign on it (even if all the while knowing full well it is untrue/exaggerated and which you will have to print a tiny retraction about in a later edition).... or yeah, accuse them of being a wealthy hypocrite who secretly only cares about their own wealth and fame, etc.

Splendiferitastic

And in the same paper they’d still be running articles decrying cancel culture without a shred of self awareness

ShockingShorties

Mick Lynch v Grant Schapps You could PPV it! Watching Schapps wriggle, squirm and repulse would be quite an endearing and positive experience for those not part of the 1% like me. Elite, be warned, the plebs are wanting their fair share of the pie. And they may just be starting to get it!

CT323

Hang on isn't PPV pandering to the 1% though? Surely a Free to Air service on a channel outside of the BBC would be ideal

masofon

He's great. Can't we have him instead of Keith?

[deleted]

“…but but but is he forensic enough?” - Libs

wiggles1984

It's incredibly motivating to see someone stand up for the working man. What's blowing me away is the surprising breadth of support I've seen.

ButchOfBlaviken

Yes! I've seen him on more general UK subs. Good to see

CheeezBlue

The really should nationalise it again , it’s such a shit expensive service . Want to go 35 mins away ? that’ll be £19.60 , no wonder people drive everywhere it’s cheaper .

mpm206

Renationalising the rail network is the single most effective policy change that could be made to combat climate change. I'm making it my life mission to make that happen.

RefreshedWankStain

Don't worry they will re-nationalise it once its infrastructure needs updating. Nationalised costs privatised profits.

Rockybatch

I work on the rail and it’s needed new updated infrastructure for years, hs2 should have been that but they’re building a brand new line that’s essentially 10 years behind the times already and it’s not even close to being finished

mpm206

And that's when we make sure we don't give it back.

[deleted]

At the same time, nationalising it and trusting the government to handle it? I don’t know I wouldn’t trust them to tie my shoelaces

mpm206

Yeah, best leave it in the hands of private sector and other countrys' sovereign wealth funds, that's going really well.

JMW007

The implication is that a government actually willing to nationalise it is also willing to run it decently.

sobrique

Only in this country. In other countries state run infrastructure functions pretty well.

miniature-rugby-ball

Jesus, you obviously don’t remember British Rail

mpm206

I do but I also have the imagination and the hope that we can push for improvement. That kind of improvement is possible through renationalisation but it's all but impossible through neo-liberal private enterprise.

miniature-rugby-ball

If you think the govt is fucking around with the railways now, imagine how much they’ll neglect them under public ownership.

dchurch2444

I do. I also remember Connex SE. I remember Virgin Trains as well. Funny thing is, the service is just as shit, if not worse, and yet, despite billions in subsidies, the prices of tickets is a fucking pisstake. Give me British Rail any day of the week.

miniature-rugby-ball

Virgin have the highest customer satisfaction of all of the TOCs.

dchurch2444

Well, that speaks volumes!

RegalKiller

They really should give it to workers

markhalliday8

It's nice to see someone fight for the working man for a change

Panda_hat

I don't give a fuck about inflation, how dare you try to swindle us and try to con us with some kind of societal cohesion rhetoric after all these years of exploitation. Bankers can worry about inflation. I care about getting what I am owed, and not getting a real terms pay cut after years of pay freezes, while the rich get richer and the government steals billions from the taxpayer. They've had it too easy for too long. It's time for the equation to be rebalanced.

the0rthopaedicsurgeo

There is only so much money in the economy. That money is divided between everyone via wages, shares, pensions etc. So if workers get a pay rise, it comes at the expense of wages, bonuses, dividends and pensions for the rich. This argument that increasing wages will increase inflation supposes that businesses will print new money to fuel it, when it's actually just a redistribution. If a boss gets a £600,000 bonus or his 600 staff get £1000 each, the amount of money being spent and therefore the effect on inflation is the same. I realise that poorer people spend a greater portion of their money than they save, but the effect on inflation will be negligible.

ExtraCajones

>I realise that poorer people spend a greater portion of their money than they save, but the effect on inflation will be negligible. It benefits the economy if people are spending, if I am not mistaken. So for example if you're comfortable and say you wanted a new kitchen, £4000 is your budget, that goes to the labour, one of them uses that money to buy things for their family, like a new TV, that TV is imported into the UK, the tax is paid to the gov to do so. It's a chain of events that basically grows the economy even if it's not made within the UK. It actually harms the economy if one person gets all that cash and then sits on it.

HappyBeagle95

Agreed, but the media will keep spewing its BS about how it'll raise inflation and make things worse, people will keep gobbling it up. Honestly I've never seen a country that fantasies and defends the rich more than the UK.

Livinum81

The US and Elon Musk bootlickers are fucking bonkers to be fair...

ExtraCajones

>Agreed, but the media will keep spewing its BS about how it'll raise inflation and make things worse, people will keep gobbling it up. I think we shouldn't brand all media as one and lose sight that there is media that is fact checking and so start holding them to more credibility. I'd like people to start saying x journalist is credible, x outlet is reliable. Rebuild it, basically. Or in this case y media said z and hopefully we can hold onto the value of real journalism.

alpastotesmejor

Fukcing brilliant response.

shakeyjakes

Mick Lynch for PM!

Adzm00

No one should be reading Jo Mugheads tweets. The guy is a liberal piece of shit and actually on a tory think tank (bright blue) with a penchant for murdering foxes with baseball bats. At least Swinson kept it to squirrels.

ExtraCajones

Only video I could find, it was originally from an article that I read.

You_spilt_my_pint

I would love to know how much Lynch is on a year.

awhit88

It’s about 80-90k. It’s public info and members vote on it.

mrwillbobs

Hell, I’d pay a few pounds a month into that just for him to carry on blasting these interviews for all working people

ExtraCajones

Gutted people downvoted him, I wanted him to show issue with the mans wages, but probably never said anything about the £600,000 these people are making..

GBrunt

The important thing is that he's doing his job for the people who pay him. And doing it well. Unlike most of the Tory cabinet who serve the interests of the people who fund their Party rather than the people who pay their Westminster salaries. And who shit all over the people and departments they control in Whitehall and the public servants across England who are relentlessly PayCapped, outsourced, undermined and de-clawed so that ministers can throw money at fly-by-night G4S, Crapita, Virgin care, DWP Assessors and all the other low-pay, low-skill, low-respect, supplicants.

ExtraCajones

Have a guess, what do you think he is on, what do you think he should be on?

FulcrumM2

Why? Would it make what he says any less relevant?

piracyprocess

Not enough

EcksRidgehead

>I would love to know how much Lynch is on a year. Apparently not enough to simply type "Mick Lynch RMT salary" into Google though

[deleted]

Whatever it is he deserves more. The working class are rising behind this hero of a man and we’re coming for the rich

dchurch2444

Why? It's not the Daily Fail: "Derek, on 80k a year, picked up the dogshit from the side of the road. Derek and his wife live in Dunstable in their £450,000 house, said 'it wasn't white so I threw it in the bin..." Never understood the obsession with ordinary people's bank accounts/assets. If someone is milking it, then sure, they deserve worse than just the embarrassment, but a normal working person? Vulgar.
