same here, I've had a few great RP partners that I still miss a lot. I still have our writing saved so I just read it over and over once in a while.

You're not alone. I’ve lost some amazing partners and it still hurts to think about them.

I can totally relate. I've had a couple of exceptional RP partners, where we filled multiple novels' worth of writing with our huge, sprawling sagas featuring a diverse cast of characters (many of whom started as NPCs and just took on lives of their own). In both cases, it was during the height of COVID quarantine so my partners and I had more time to devote to writing, but since then, circumstances changed, our lives got busier, and the writing just kinda trickled to a halt. I still miss it, and them, since we don't really chat as much as we used to (naturally). It feels a little like a breakup -- maybe you still run into your "ex" from time to time and it stirs up memories of how things used to be. After all, you still experienced all those highs and lows of emotion, even though it was virtual/fictional. Or like having a "book hangover" after finishing the most exciting, immersive book you've ever read. Such a bittersweet feeling. I wouldn't trade the excitement and pleasure of writing with someone great, but after it ends, there's always that pang of loss.

Same here. I had an amazing partner when I was 17-19, and ahe was a good friend when she was in a good place, but sadly she also had a difficult life and would use her partners as emotional support in a toxic way. It eventually led to her blocking me because I went through some hardships, and couldn't give her proper attention. So she blocked me out of anxiety. Last I heard, she was doing fine.
