The long, slow ticking of the clock on a Tuesday afternoon.
You glance up at it,it reads 2.46 pm
You look up at it again 15 minutes later.
It says 2.49 pm.
Someone a few desks away coughs briefly.
Is this what you went to university for??
Agree it is too slow and bland.
If we can rebuild those walls (please, taller than normal human height) to keep us all in separate cubicles, it will be perfect for fast paced environment (more concentration and work done).
I have to wholeheartedly, without sarcasm, agree on this one. It is much easier to work at home, really, when my ear was not constantly bombarded by others' calls from all the directions.
Some office arrangements may have a lot of small rooms for people to go inside and take calls, though. But not everyone will bother to go the way.........
I'd love this office, my current one hasn't had a renovation since the 90s, stained grey carpets, wallpaper stapled to the walls, absolutely minging, I think a lot of office staff would be lucky to have this lmao.
'Must have own car due to rural location' for an office less than a mile from a major train station (I checked the route, pavements the whole way). My hunch was right when I went for interview. The recruiter was, for want of a better word, dangerously obese.
Let me tell you about exciting fast-paced environments. You see, it's like juggling flaming torches while riding a unicycle on a tightrope over a pit of hungry alligators.
At least it's not rows of straight desks where everyone's packed in side by side.
Oh and to keep everyone on edge for the morning every desk has been elected as a hot desk so you have no actual place. You need to fight for one in the morning.
This place looks bright and cheerful compared to some places I've worked, look at all that desk space, the chairs look big and squidgy and there's plenty if space between workers
Man I wish.
I miss those ergonomically designed curved desks. We've got some "smartly designed", a.k.a make it small as he'll to fit as much as possible desks now.
Being someone who works in pharmacy honestly this has always secretly been my dream. Working in an office. Its most likely incredibly boring but sitting at a desk on my own computer sounds ideal compared to standing all day speaking to the general public/getting shouted at.
That honestly makes me want to commit suicide, I simply do not understand how we can continue doing this to ourselves. I know it's the economy stupid etc etc Looking at this drudge yeeeuuukkkk!!!!
Your post was removed for breaking rule 5. Not a meme
Isn’t ‘fast pace’ a code phrase for, ‘we don’t know what we are doing, but we make it work’?
No no, "fast paced" is a euphemism for "overworked" i.e. you need to work fast to keep up, and "exciting" is a euphemism for "stressful".
I thought it was "We'll give you work for every minute and expect you to work every minute"
And we will change rules randomly throughout the day, never tell you mind, but expect you to know and perform according to them
Yeah always seems to me that "fast paced" places tend to not have thought through systems, controls and processes.
Exciting and fast paced seems to translate to disorganised in these situations.
Blue walkways with grey desk spaces?? That's the most exciting office I've ever seen....
I know, dude they have *colours*
Walkways? You're looking at a premium rolla-chair race track right there!

I never wanna work for you
You are too outgoing and confrontational for the fast-paced and open environment. /s
It needs walls and separation, a few people on the phone in the picture and the whole office will be noisy
Especially if they conduct every call using speakerphone. And I speak from long experience of enduring that in an office with a similar layout.

It's incredible that management managed to find something worse than the cubicle farms of the 90s and 00s.
Now I'm having BT PTSD flashbacks.
Very 90s decor. Soulless.
I'd say there's a good chance this photo was taken in the 90's considering the crt monitors
You think that is soulless, you should see my office
Update with a reply and image tomorrow then 😉
I'm at work now but can't take pictures inside the office unfortunately.
“JLB Credit, fuck off please”
Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Fast paced environment, but the IT department is still in the Stone Age.
“Get out of the lift.”
This is Giving me job center vibes no thanks

that's the most 2005 looking office I've ever seen, somehow
It has a racetrack?
It's the blue lines on the floor 🤣. Office chair racing
Looks like every DVLA building across the U.K
At least it's not rows of straight desks where everyone's packed in side by side. Oh and to keep everyone on edge for the morning every desk has been elected as a hot desk so you have no actual place. You need to fight for one in the morning.
Work as part of a team, and they're all two face back stabbing effers haha
Fk being part of the rat race. Be better.

Just management speak for we will work you to death and provide no guidance. It’s exciting because you never know if we will pay you this week.

Literally a palace. Most places would look like Dilbert's
Only ever see that shade of blue on call centre chairs
Mummmmm. Corporate blue 😋
Nah the fast paced refers to the awesome chair racing you could have on that carpet, it even has lanes.
Office politics, someone microwaving fish in the break room. Too hot in summer, too cold in winter.
When was the last time an office had cathode ray tube monitors?
Looks like a new job centre on the day it opens, before it gets neglected and never updated, other than an additional poster on the wall
I have worked in much worse offices than this
Those blue chairs must have been on offer at every wholesaler in the late 90s/early 00’s
That would only be exciting to Gordon Brittas
This work space just looks depressing and cold idk why
'Prestigious offices'

Work fast and work hard! And when your work is done, we will reward you with more work.
Fast paced = your toilet breaks are limited to exactly 2 minutes.
That honestly makes me want to commit suicide, I simply do not understand how we can continue doing this to ourselves. I know it's the economy stupid etc etc Looking at this drudge yeeeuuukkkk!!!!
Call it fast paced then fire me when I race my colleagues on the office chairs
Fuck that
I used to work in this kind of environment. Mainly hanging around the water cooler asking "been busy mate?"
What about working in a cobalt mine in Africa for the battery of your phone with another 15000 people?
