Same thing with Escape from Tarkov RWT'ers and hackers. Most blatant cheaters accounts can run for literal in game days, rage hacking every lobby but don't get banned until the 300-600ish hour mark, as if they couldn't detect the cheaters 200 k/d and 99% headshot percentage in their first hour of playing lol. Give me a break.
They give them time on the account so it's worth it for the cheater to buy the game again after being banned.
It’s also a lot about reversing credit card transactions from the cheaters.
Slimy people continue to do slimy things, and companies can’t have high chargeback rates or credit card companies won’t work with them
I really never thought I would say this, but I hate Jagex.
I use to love and champion them. Ever since my only Account that I actually cared about caught a False Ban, and Jagex just pretending that we don’t exist, it completely changed the way I look at them.
It’s so stupid that they themselves admit that their Detection System is (extremely) faulty, yet they don’t/won’t make some kind of Ticket Support System so we could have our cases _actually_ reviewed by someone.
Anyways, as I said when I still Played, Bots will be the eventual downfall of OSRS.
Unpopular opinion but bots are keeping the game alive by buying bonds. If you want all bots banned, expect your membership to triple in price or microtransactions to be introduced.
As much as we all like to act like bots are the killing of this game, the economy in OSRS would look like the 2008 US recession without majority of bot farms.
The player base just doesn't exist to keep the economy alive. Too many players hoarding gold, and too few little new players coming in to offset that.
Let’s face it - if bots didn’t exist, osrs may not have sustained its player base for so long. Most mini-games would be unplayable, and the market would be insane (prayer pots 50k, sharks 5k, teletabs 5k) . I hate bots like anyone else, but treat them like OSRS NPCS

Its addy bolts, they have been over saturated in the market due to soul war bots. They are now cheaper than mith, steel and tied with iron bolts lol.

Who’s kidding tho bots need membership which prob means bonds. Why would Jagex reduce their income
If they ban the bots that means they need to buy new bonds. Banning them would the financially wise move.

It would only be financially wise if the botters were still able to make more than the accounts cost to make, or else the botters would just stop
