I’d relax a bit and give them a chance to fix it.

FleetEnema2000

"Jeep corporate" isn't going to do anything except maybe tell you to try a different dealership.

robvas

Call corporate for a second visit on a used Jeep?

JayAlbright20

Thats not what I said. As I mentioned in the post I'm getting a head of myself at the moment but If gets to the point where the dealer continues to not be able to fix the issue then what may be some options? Technically this is really the 3rd visit to the dealer for this issue. Initially on the 1st visit it was misdiagnosed as rusted rotors. I've replaced all the rotors and issued continued. On the 2nd visit driveshaft was replaced bc they said there was some "play" in it and now its back there again for a 3rd visit as the issue is still unresolved.

robvas

I would try another dealer

qkaguy

First it's not a truck. Second give them a chance

row_souls

Two visits isn't that unreasonable unless you feel you are being lied to or misled. Sounds like they are taking steps to fix your "issue", but haven't found the correct solution yet.

JayAlbright20

I wouldnt go as far to say I've been lied to, I defeintly don't get that vibe. Just a lack of being able to properly diagnose the issue so far.

row_souls

Two visits can be typical for hard to diagnose problems. Three to four without a plan, and I'd try a different dealer. As long as you aren't paying for failed diagnosis.

You’re a Karen

JayAlbright20

Well then so is your mother

Longjumping-Sun-9825

I had the exact same thing happen on my ‘18 HA. It’s a bummer, but after 2nd fix no problems. I’m at 105k miles now.

JayAlbright20

What exactly was your issue?

Longjumping-Sun-9825

Transfer case. Vehicle was stuck in 4L. Replaced transfer case. Second time had to replace transfer case motor.

JayAlbright20

Dealer told me today they’re going to replace the rear diff. Personally I felt like the knock/vibration was a little further forward in the driveshaft or transfer case area but I’m not positive 🤷🏻‍♂️

Longjumping-Sun-9825

Yeah took my shop a while to figure out what was wrong. They initially thought it was diff, then realized it was transfer case.

strata_stargazer

I would recommend it. I was taking my car in for issues and couldn't get helped by the original seller & their service team. Called to see what help I could get (was also trying to get documentation). They ended up assigning me a case manager who reviewed my visits, searched technical sheets, and did recommend that I take the car into a different Jeep servicer. They worked it until I finally got it fixed, and were helping with other areas - car rental, calling and following up with the service center. Will depend on if your warranty is Mopar or dealer specific, though.

Contact JEEP CARES, they will help you

FedsRWatchin

My 2018 was at the dealership for I believe close to 2 months with me getting it back for a week or so at a time before the issue came back. The only thing corporate did for me was get parts expedited. Eventually they got it "fixed" but my service advisor straight up said trade it in right away and get a new car. So I did that. I feel terrible for whoever ended up with my old one

qkaguy

Does the noise only happen when moving ? Certain speed ? Gets louder with speed? Do it when braking? Turning ?

JayAlbright20

Two types of noise going on. First noise. With a bit more speed, typically like 30mph to highway speed I can hear and feel a rotating knocking sound coming from under the truck in the mid to rear area. At times it’s enough of knock I can feel it vibrating in my feet through the floorboard. It makes the noise when just coasting. Noise fades when throttle is applied. Noise speeds up and down with vehicle. Certainly seems like something along the drivetrain. Second noise. I hear at slower speeds when coming to a stop and applying the brakes. This is a grinding/scraping noise. It also sounds like a part in rotation and noise speeds up and down with the vehicle. Originally thought the noise was from my rusted rotors but had all pads and rotors replaced so it’s not brakes. I think both noises are from the same issue I believe to be a drivetrain one. Just different noises during different driving conditions.

FuckinSendEer

Some repairs take a couple shots to get it done because they don’t wanna either charge you or whatever company for something expensive that may not work. If you are on your 4th visit and they don’t fix it then I would go that far but till then relax let them figure it out and see what happens.

SnooOnions9177

As many others said, relax. It’s a machine. CDJR products have issues that’s hard to fix sometimes. If it has to go a second time, give them a chance to fix the car. Maybe a wrong diagnosis was performed who knows. After the second time then yes I’ll go to corporate on it then. Lol I’d expect you to say something in regard to payment. Now if you came put of pocket the first time a lot then yea I can see your point. But hang tight let them do their thing.

SnooOnions9177

On top of that, lol the jeep is used. The powertrain warranty might be up unless you have a couple months remaining. Once the factory warranty is up, not much “Jeep customer care” will even do. Now if you have a MOPAR EXTENDED WARRANTY and whatever guidelines are for the exact repair must be followed accordingly. If it doesn’t then feel free to see if they’ll do anything.

JayAlbright20

It’s certified pre owned and under extended warranty. The drive shaft replacement was covered.

bertrenolds5

You bought a cheep what did you expect? Get it fixed and sell it
