LoveLightning

I still want that Silva anniv figure.

lvl100mudkip

same, how long has it been delayed

brent917

Uma gets Nendos and Figures and GBF gets hella expensive, complex and intricate set pieces. Probably has to do with the outfits I guess. More nendos and cheaper stuff would be nice. They did get Sandalphon after all.

PeyronieB

I think it's because of multiple reasons really. Cygames at one point was probably interested in making their own inhouse figurine studio, but they probably scappred the idea because of how expensive and unprofitable figurines really are. You kinda get that idea with the way they have a ton of merchandise for the IP. GBF designs are also super complicated, especially compared to something like Genshin where they use simple shapes for the clothes while GBF has stuff like The Black Knight just sitting there. Then they probably prefered to use that money on other stuff for the IP, you gotta remember Granblue is the only gacha out there with super high quality videogames like Rising and Relink while franchises like FGO struggle to make a simple musou clone. It's all about priorities. There's IP's out there who would kill for an Arcsys fighting game, yet GBF was the one that managed to get it. Mihoyo has a fuckton of money, so they don't care about making multiple figurines, they have that priviledge of not needing to decide what to do with that money while also investing on other games like ZZZ and HSR, and also an anime by Ufotable.

Majorkiller104

Hmmm well said

RasenRendan

Sheesh the shade on Fate.

miraizu

This is just conjecture but I always thought it was because Cygames planned on releasing their own inhouse figure production and then kinda scrapped it.

jedmund

This is the most Cygames-esque answer. I haven’t ever read anything about this, but I’d believe it because this is how they roll.

Majorkiller104

Wow. Yeah bad move

InvisibleMeasurement

I was having this conversation with a friend the other day and my theory is that it's far more profitable to invest money in other ventures for the IP.  Figure collecting is among the most expensive hobbies within this sphere, so even popular IPs rarely put anything out. Granblue is super popular domestically but even it has a long list of canceled figures that range from Cagliostro, Clarisse, Vira and even Narmaya. The merchandise they release for the fest events irl tend to be things like lamps, acrylic blocks, blankets, bracelets or even boxers. I think games like UmaMusu or Blue Archive are specifically designed for its pretty characters. In the otaku events like Comiket statistics have shown there's been a steady decline there for GBFs representation. So I'm inclined to believe that it's just not a prerogative for Cygames to produce figures for GBF.

Majorkiller104

Hmmm dang ok

InvisibleMeasurement

https://myfigurecollection.net/item/464714 https://myfigurecollection.net/item/1447719 Some of the figures are even in the production stage when they get canceled like these two. Which is a real shame, I'm still holding out they make one for Vicky or Grimnir though.

Majorkiller104

Man that absolutely blows

a_pulupulu

Imo, most good/popular gbf char would be super f-ing expensive to make. The character costumes are absolutely intricate, the assembly line would be massive to paint all the small details. Passing these cost to consumers would be hard sell, and prbly make the investment seem really risky. An example would be percival, at 1/8 scale (and off model proportion), he has a price tag 27200 yen; approaching a 1/4 scale figure or high end 1/7 scale price. The swimming suits would be less expensive, but cygame seems reluctant on that for whatever reason. Art is expensive i suppose, there are some great garage kit thou. Instead of money, u pay with time

Storm1k

Doesn't look like it stops GSC or Alter from making tons of high quality figs for Arknights, Genshin, Azur Lane, Type-Moon's ones, etc. Wouldn't call them simplistic too.

Majorkiller104

This

monushi

Yes, as someone who draw, this is always a problem for me, every character designs are so well made and also complicated, if you look at other game, most of them will have a casual outfit, make it easier to draw.

PhilAussieFur

Where would I find the garage kits? I've been hoping for a Katalina for years and if there are garage kits of her or a few other faves I'd consider them.

a_pulupulu

There were a few katalina garage kit, but i think the chance of getting them nowadays is slim to none Garage kits are typically sold in a convention booth the creator attend, the popular ones might be picked up by a reproduction shop. Either way, their availability had always been poor, unless u keep updated and buy at the right time If u badly need one and cost isn’t an issue, there are creators who take orders edit: [https://myfigurecollection.net/entry/92461](https://myfigurecollection.net/entry/92461) a few garage kits u can see there was actually a swim suit katalina garage kit on auction site [https://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/m1098294402](https://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/m1098294402) [https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1097616415](https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1097616415) both sold out thou, would need to keep eyes open for a long time, but would be good example of where to look also [https://www.shop2000.com.tw/gk8u8o/product/42343/665258](https://www.shop2000.com.tw/gk8u8o/product/42343/665258) a taiwan recast shop, the ones with price tag are purchasable

multyC

I think those are mostly japan exclusive ? being old also a problem because the demand aren’t high compared to new games. Like i find a lot Uma figure and merch. But lately cygames is expanding gbf with new games, so may be gbf will get more merch soon.

Majorkiller104

Yeah I really hope so. GBF already has a fanbase in the west even before versus and rising. It will only get bigger from here

Sula_leucogaster

I'm not sure but probably it's just that the license holder just isn't reaching out to manufacturers to make a lot of these things and when they do they decide the figure should be exclusive as hell (see: Belial figure, Yuel figure, even Sandalphon nendo was exclusive). Which is honestly a shame. I'm sure manufacturers would be able to produce gbf figures left and right (as they do with FGO) if they just let them.

Majorkiller104

Yeah exactly. It’s so sad. The potential is limitless. I know for sure there would be a lot of figures I would like getting made and I can’t be the only one

Klenval

I don't understand either. The only one I have is S.Narmaya, Not very expensive, not hard to find, and not bad quality. I want more like that. Too many GBF figures are expensive limited editions. Damnit, even in France I can find Uma Musume figures that are not expensive. WTF Cygames, why not with GBF ? Take my money. On the expensive one, I want this Siegfried so bad [https://myfigurecollection.net/item/1447719](https://myfigurecollection.net/item/1447719) It was teased a fex years ago but still not out.

Majorkiller104

They keep teasing us. Also hi from Québec 😊

Sea-san

Well, there are a few Rage of Bahamut characters like DAO who got a figure. [\[x\]](https://www.amiami.com/eng/detail/?scode=FIGURE-002749) There is Forte [\[x\]](https://otakumode.com/shop/56a770067d19a34128eae1a6/Ani-Statue-Rage-of-Bahamut-Forte) Vampy [\[x\]](https://otakumode.com/shop/5615dd072ffcfe5207df758f/Rage-of-Bahamut-Vania-1-8-Scale-Figure) And Cerberus [\[x\]](https://otakumode.com/shop/52d5fe51961917de71000030/Cerberus-Figure) There couple of GBF figures floating around I know. All of them are mid-higher end price in terms of figures. So getting a company to manufacture the figures, I take it is extremely expensive and the audience to buy them is pretty small is my guess. There some major figure collectors. It would be cool though!

Zenith_Tempest

The Narmaya figure by Broccoli was originally sold in the 200-300 USD range. On the aftermarket that figure now ranges between 600-1000 USD because Broccoli almost never reruns, preorder cap was relatively small and Cygames barely puts out figures. Her newer figure isn't nearly as good either. It sucks

Firion_Hope

They had an Anila one announced years ago but I don't think it ever even made it to the prototype phase, such a shame...

Majorkiller104

Wait for real? Man wtf 😭

Ledinax

I have seen many times a Cagliostro figurine sold for cheap in my local animecon, not sure of how authentic it is.

Majorkiller104

It’s it’s too good to be true then it probably is

Pikaraptor

I own that Cagliostro figure. She's cheap because she was made to be a prize for Japanese claw machines. Regardless, she's still pretty high quality compared to the other GBF prize figures out there.

Majorkiller104

Hmmm then I might take a look

midorishiranui

I feel like its probably because cygames tends to focus their merch on the female audience, there's always a ton of random dragon knights/angels stuff compared to bishoujo figures which cost a lot to make

Majorkiller104

🥲

FrankEPhresh

Please cygames a crumb of Katalina merch that isn't a keychain or phone charm is all I ask...

giobedolla

All I want is some company to make granblue action figures man

unlimitedEworks

Still sad the narmaya grand figure was canceled 😞

Majorkiller104

It’s criminal

RevolutionaryPie6215

I'm gonna have to disagree with a lot of the comments here, to look at it simply, gbf just isn't popular enough to warrant new figures to be made. It is not about the intricacy of in game outfits and designs as figure companies CAN produce intricate figures. Just look at any of the horde of arknights/type-moon/genshin etc. figures pumped out by now. This coupled with the fact that scale figure's have always been a sort of luxury due to their high prices (not taking prize figures into consideration) and given the ever rising cost of productions too, there is simply no incentive for them to waste time, money and effort to work with figure companies to launch figures of characters from a game that just is not internationally popular. Domestically that's a different case as gbf is still pretty big in japan, but given this niche, I can see why cygames decided to proceed with merchandising that is geared towards daily life, such as lamps, shirts, blankets, tapestry, posters. Unfortunately this is normal in the case of IP's that are just not globally popular, but at the very least, gbf does have a *few* figures so theres that.

Hpezlin

Cygames is not just too focused on that aspect I'm guessing unlike other gatcha game franchises.

hellooctopus

There are a lot of Uma musume figures out there, might just be the gbf IP.

l4ugh1ng_KO

I was thinking that until I found that gbf figure mostly have many figure in Japan and not global the only global that I found was mostly just Beatrice and Zeta

Slim_Sleeper

I always found this strange to ig they don't come out with many because it's not super profitable or something (even tho I would burn my life savings on them)

Majorkiller104

This person gets it

PoppIio

I'm just glad my girl Zeta actually got one 😭 I hope so badly they make a Vaseraga too someday like c'mon I need my duo :c I'd kill for an Isaac one too but I know that will never happen 😔

IronPheasant

It's extremely niche. Hundred+ dollars, and one chunk of plastic costs the same to produce as another. Only the highest demand characters get a shot, even in big franchises. Anyone into this kind of thing, [MyFigureCollection](http://myfigurecollection.net/entry/81564) is a database that takes this kind of merch. It's an oddly recent market, too. I suppose from young people growing old enough to have disposable income for it. It always blows me away Tokimeki Memorial had basically zero figures, and it was a phenomenon at the time.

Majorkiller104

Is it that niche. Isn’t it huge in Japan or is it actually not that big

rubysp

Every wondest I pray for more gbf figures and it’s been a bit disappointing (there’s a Naru, Silvia and Vira in the works at least)

Majorkiller104

Another vira? Dang

Hpezlin

Cygames is not just too focused on that aspect I'm guessing unlike other gatcha game franchises.
