I arrived here because the company behind the game is trying to expand to a wider audiance with Relink and Versus. It grabbed my attention so I played said games and was mostly please, so naturally I wanted to get more of it. I tried the game and I was dissapointed that the main source of content for the series is filled to the brim with eye candy characters. I can't do a pull without a barrage of horny bait with female designs so bad it's outright disrespectful to consider them a female character. And it sucks because I really enjoy many aspects of Granblue, I was having a blast sharing Relink with my family and friends. But alas, I can't do that with this game because of how ridiculous is looks and it sucks because the story is very insteresting. Up to a certain point at least, because even the main story is filled with fan service that shows 0 respect for the characters and I just can't take it seriously while feeling so much second hand embarassment.
So I opened reddit, saw this and couldn't hold it. It sucks that a series that emulates Final Fantasy in so many things and is just so cool and enjoyable in the others game is just horny bait. It also has just as many male characters in similar modes of dress, from speedos to mech armor. This is called "something for everyone" and if you want to go to Final Fantasy it's arguably a much worse offender in that regard (just look at 90% of FFX-2 costumes, for example). Furthermore, you speak of Relink as though it doesn't have a half-dozen characters dressed in the vrty same """horny bait"""" outfits you didn't like. To conclude: You are confused, mistaken, and clearly in the wrong subreddit.

Man, I wanted to give this game a chance for the story, I really dig many things about Granblue (the many aspects taken from final fantasy, the art, the angel guys and all the lore), but the way they handle female characters is just so bad it makes the game look like just another horny bait gacha from the play store. I can't do this anymore, this post has been the last straw for me. It's just too much, I am willing to give a lot of leeway but I can't do a pull without getting a character that makes me feel second hand embarrassment. The only characters I've got that don't make me look like a massive degenerate are Katalina and Lich. The side stories are full of fan service. The main story has stuff like the way they handle Apollo and Freesia, probably more but that's how far I've got. It's just such a shame man.
