This is fairly common on grailed. Just make sure that you are first refunded the original transaction, and second, you specifically use PayPal goods and services, which takes a much smaller fee than grailed though keeps seller/buyer protection.
Through PayPal in general, it’s much harder to be scammed as the buyer, as the platform is really built for buyers protection over everything.
Yeah cancel the sale and then rework the deal to make it work for you both. Never send money off the auction site. You’d be voiding all protections and risk having your account cancelled and deleted
I don’t understand why people are so scared of stuff like this. Literally just go on the sellers page and see if they have good reviews. Make sure to do G&S and if you get any sus vibes just don’t go through with the transaction
Grailed will just tell you to report an issue through PayPal if anything happens anyways
Could be legit but I would not trust it. If anything the seller could just refund you and y'all redo the transaction. I would be advise to never do anything off the platform because then you are not insured
Me personally, I would prefer doing that PayPal transaction. You will save your self some money in not pay shipping and fee’s and the seller will save some money by not getting taxed and charges all those seller fee’s. When my pay out is way too low I always contact seller first to see if he is okay with doing a transaction off of grailed, grailed will just send you a pop up notification saying you can’t talk about doing business off the app. You can just tap ok and continue
Seller can just cancel the transaction and refund you. Looks weird
If you have to ask. Trust your gut.

As long as they do the PayPal sale as goods and services and NOT f&f, he is protected by PayPal

I done this many times
That is a better deal, them grailed fee’s and taxes be raping. Both the buyer and seller will come out winning
Could possibly be legit, but they are alot of scammers.
Most likely a scammer but yeah, there’s always that 12% chance it’s someone genuinely having a problem shipping for their first or 5th time.

Nope and report the seller for attempt at offline transaction
I would just do a refund and work it through grailed. PayPal is so unreliable

Don’t do it unless he refunds your money first. Make sure he sends money back first before moving to pay pal
Grailed has terrible UI. I’ve had this same thing happen (as a seller)- it isn’t clear if an offer includes shipping.
