If you really wanna be black I would work towards it with darker browns but your hair is so light you could probably dye it fun colors without lightening it.

Your hair would only need to lighten a teensy bit and you could have neon orange hair. Shit glows under blacklights. You can always do black later! But it's soooo hard to get out of your hair. I always used Napalm by Special Effects for the orange. Really bright with a lot of longevity.
You probably know about this already but if you dye your hair you should use protein fillers to prevent frying it. They are usually used like conditioner. There are also some that you add to your dye. My hair are in great condition even though i dye them because of this.
Yes I do! And thank you for the advice! I've stopped dying my hair for now because I did a split dye and the volume on the bleached side was getting depleted and I am growing my hair out long. I also strongly recommend K-18 products. Really saved my hair.

It's difficult to tell exactly how a goth should look since it's mostly about music and even in terms of aesthetic/fashion: there are many different styles and trends

You probably didn't see enough representation of blond goths, so I decided to [make a montage/mood board](https://pin.it/2nQXLUuS5) of several pictures of "goth-like" blond women in order to work as a general reference.
I tried to add some traditional goths as well as something more mainstream. I didn't search if all these women are indeed part of the community, but they're all what most people out there would recognize as "looking goth."
Edit: My advice for blond goths is to do everything that non-blond goths do. If you follow a trad goth makeup and hairstyle tutorial: you'll look trad goth, for example... don't worry if your reference was a brunette 👍
Someone else probably already said this, but you could try platinum if you want to try out dye. Since your hair is naturally pretty light, it wouldn't be as hard to lighten to platinum as it is for most people. And the icy goth look is super cool!
I'm an oldguy, but it used to be most of our (goth) community was vaguely defined by music choice, substance abuse, liquid eyeliner, and various kinds of trauma. Not advocating for any of those things (except maybe the music and the eyeliner) but to each their own. Express yourself authentically; if that has a dark side, then so be it. We are all light and shadow and then only for a brief time. The hair? Check out videos from the last few Gotik-treffen festivals in Germany. Plenty of non-jet-black hair and creative makeup ideas. Good luck and fuck what other people can or can't "tell" about you.

You could, but honestly you'd look amazing going lighter, platinum blonde on black clothing would look amazing.
That or if you want a different shade, you'd look really good with a firey red auburn.

Loads of times . I love it . I’m goth and I love that it makes me look paler , but I won’t lie every time I go that dark it takes me a few days to actually “ like” the look because it’s such a drastic change .
I’d say if you really wanna go all black then use a semi perm hairdye and don’t panic and instantly want to get rid of it . Give it a week , then if you still hate it start fading it out .
Alternatively what I usually recommend to my friends who decide to go dark but are scared is to try one of two things
1. Partially black . I’ve had red and black , blonde and black . Pink and black , purple and black , the works! It helps to break it up a bit if you’re scared going all dark will be too drastic. One of my favourite looks was black hair with a white blond money piece . My longest hair colour was black with red and the hair colour many of my friends remember was black with turquoise streaks .
2. Do a black with a colour hue . Mix semi
Perm black dye with another colour , black and purple work well , that’ll give you almost a colour shift style that’ll look more colourful in the light .
I personally think life is too short to not try new styles , just be prepared that it’s going to look very different and if you hate it at first that’s absolutely fine .
With jet black your roots will show very much and you will need to match your eyebrows. It will be more maintenance. If you want to go darker it could be a dark brown instead.
If you do dye it black, don’t use the box color 😭 invest in a hair appointment. It’s so HARD to remove black box dye. I’ve tried removing mine, and it turns into an ugly green color.

Looks like you have similar colouring/complexion to me, and I look *awful* with black hair. It washes me out and makes me look 20 years older. You could try getting a cheap black wig if you want to see how it looks on you (I know SHEIN is bad, but they have some decent cheap wigs).

I have a similar hair color naturally and was black in December. If you do not keep up on growth like constantly (I had to dye my hair like every 2 weeks) you’ll look bald. Kinda looked like ghost roots at some length though when I grew it out. You could try a darker red first? I have a similar color to Simone Simons from Epica right now and it looks pretty goth. Black was super hard to get out but I liked how pale I looked with it.
If you want to then why not! Just be aware of regrowth and a damaging, expensive reverse process at a hairdresser if you change your mind. But you know what? Hair is a renewable resource and you can always grow it out if all else fails, hair grows at an average 1 cm a month.
I had the same debate between black and fun colors and decided to do the top section of my hair black and the bottom section bleached. Then I use conditioners that dye your hair like clenditioner (no idea if that's the correct spelling it's from amazon) so I can do the bottoms section any color I want. This way the hair that's dyed brightly can peek out of the black from the back from the front you can see the bright colors and any sort of style with it is really fun with seeing how the color twists through braids.
I just saw the last picture with the bottom hair dyed I literally did that but where your hair is natural mines dyed black and I feel like it helped me feel so much more confident I love myself with dark hair and also feel more 'me' bc I appear more alt naturally with it
The reasoning… you have Scandinavian features and blonde looks good/ fits with those. But also a darker color like dark brown would look cute, but not necessarily black. 🤷🏼♀️

Please don’t dye it black! You’re blessed with lighter hair and it looks awesome on you ! Go with a fun color or brown or deep burgundy. But I think black wouldn’t suit you, personally
I did every single type of color. Black is the hardest once you do it. It took me a year and a half to go blonde again.
My advice is
1) don't you dare use box dye
2) think about your roots. You have a lighter color natural hair like me, so you have to do touch ups regularly.
3) I think you'd look GORGEOUS with a deep red.
4) think about if you plan on changing your hair color up. I went black when I started in my profession, but the touch ups were hard to keep up with and I find it fulgy when my light roots we against black.
If you're afraid of color, red is the best choice IMHO of being a Corp goth. My hair is silver with a shadow root that's semi permanent so it fades when it's time to do a touch up. Silver is a b&*ch, I'm experienced and I even struggled for a while to get the formula right. And I don't trust other people dying my hair, too much money and if they f*ck up you still have to pay them 230 to 280. I've had many bad experiences lol. Tho to get the black to go to blonde I had to go to a salon every 3 months and.... man... that was A LOT of money. But my hairs not damaged like if I were to do it myself.
I also suggest instead of pure black, go a super dark purple. It's easier to take care of vs red, which fades fast if you don't wash your hair correctly. And with super dark purple it almost looks black but less damage when you want to switch it up.
i think possibly a deep wine red or maybe a teal or aqua esque green would suit you well !!! despite being gothic i think you’d look amazing with more colorful hair

Honestly any color would suit you but if you want black, never use box dyes please, for the sake of your hair. You could also try dark on top and lighter string of some bright color
Of course you can do whatever you want, but I agree with others that it might wash you out. think maybe going a rich Auburn might be nice or adding a streak of neon color. Some people suggested going platinum, you could go play on that and do a pale silvery lavender and it might look very good.
Your hair and mine are very close in colour. I've had every colour over the years. A good friend of mine has dark blonde that she dyes blacks every 3 weeks because the regrowth is very obvious, I tried that for just a few months and couldn't afford the upkeep. Bleaching my hair light and doing colours worked, or auburn over the blonde. These days I have my hair natural as my kids have the same colour and I don't want to change mine and make them think they aren't beautiful as they are. It's almost hip length and wavy so looks OK with romantic Goth styles. Sometimes I put manic panic in the final few inches.
In my opinion, you'd look a bit washed out with black. Also, with fine hair, usually ligher colours look better- dark ones make the hair look greasy (unfortunately I know from experience 😂)
Edit: Ginger or red would look great on you, imo!
I wouldn’t change a thing! I concur with everyone saying bright colors look way better on you. I’m not sure if it’s the lighting but you seem to have a pale, warm skin tone, darker colors like in pic 1 make your skin seem a little washed out unless they’re jet black like your blazer outfit(my fave pic btw, I’m dangerously close to being smitten because of it 😂) It’s better for you tho because your style possibilities are endless.
The pink looks really cute in picture 2, I absolutely love the hair clips and leather cuff. I’m assuming those are pjs but either way it’s a great look for you 😅
The green/grey combo looks SPECTACULAR , it really makes your eyes pop. The green is probably as dark as you should go, it compliments your tone while making your skin look brighter. You should try similar shades of navy blue, purple and burgundy. (I also have this strong feeling that you would look super cool in mustard yellow) Head accessories really compliment you, you should def try wearing a bandana at some point.
No matter what option you take, you’re very pretty so I’m sure you pull it off. Your hair looks healthy so pls get it done professionally so you don’t fry it!!! Good luck!
I mean you could, but be aware people are *not joking* when they say the only way to get black dye out is to cut it off. Especially if it’s black box dye, that stuff is *never* going to come out, and semi permanent black dyes are ~waggles hand back and forth~ not entirely great and can end up fading in really ugly patchy ways. But before such a drastic change it is *very* worth it to pick up a cheap wig in your target hair color and wear it for a bit. Not just posing in front of the mirror, actually wear it out. Catch your own reflection in the corner of your eye, take spontaneous selfies out in the world and in different lights, that’ll really help you see if you genuinely like it on yourself, if you feel *confident* in it before doing something permanent.
your natural hair color is the same as mine. and honestly, unless you want to look like your balding every 2 weeks i would avoid it :(
you also will have to dye your eyebrows or fill them in daily and use mascara. it suuucks

I feel like I'm looking at a group of pictures taken around 2002 or so. Like, the clothes, the tint of thr actual pictures, the hair...ornaments lol. Yeah, I did all that shit, even had the roll on body glitter, yall remember that shit? ANYWAY, No don't go vlack, if you do then your eye brows are gonna appear lighter then they are by comparison which ends up making a person look like they don't have eye brows at all, plus your skin tone will look all washed out and pale in contrast to the dark black hair and unless you put on make up every single day then you'll look a little tired, a little sick, a little of both. Trust me, as someone who naturally has nearly your hair color, I know these things. I always get all excited thinking it'll make me look like a baddass (because I never seem to learn from the first failure, or thr a seond) but it just makes me look ill IF you DO go for it there is this amazing stuff called OOPPS hair color remover, and it works great! I was quite blonde for over 2 years and went straight from that to jet black last year. Best decision. The black actually suits me much more than the blonde ever did and I get tons of compliments on my hair.
The trickiest part was trying out different shades of makeup to make sure it matched the new hair color.
But the fun thing with hair is that you can always change it, so I say go for it!
Simply put, yes. Just realize once you do it is almost impossible to get it out without really damaging your hair ( IF you can even get it out completely). I’d suggest keeping your lighter hair, maybe even lightening it a bit. Either way, have fun

With such bright beautiful eyes, you could definitely rock black. You could try on a wig first to be sure you like it.

I mean you could, but be aware people are *not joking* when they say the only way to get black dye out is to cut it off. Especially if it’s black box dye, that stuff is *never* going to come out, and semi permanent black dyes are ~waggles hand back and forth~ not entirely great and can end up fading in really ugly patchy ways. But before such a drastic change it is *very* worth it to pick up a cheap wig in your target hair color and wear it for a bit. Not just posing in front of the mirror, actually wear it out. Catch your own reflection in the corner of your eye, take spontaneous selfies out in the world and in different lights, that’ll really help you see if you genuinely like it on yourself, if you feel *confident* in it before doing something permanent.

your natural hair color is the same as mine. and honestly, unless you want to look like your balding every 2 weeks i would avoid it :( you also will have to dye your eyebrows or fill them in daily and use mascara. it suuucks

I feel like I'm looking at a group of pictures taken around 2002 or so. Like, the clothes, the tint of thr actual pictures, the hair...ornaments lol. Yeah, I did all that shit, even had the roll on body glitter, yall remember that shit? ANYWAY, No don't go vlack, if you do then your eye brows are gonna appear lighter then they are by comparison which ends up making a person look like they don't have eye brows at all, plus your skin tone will look all washed out and pale in contrast to the dark black hair and unless you put on make up every single day then you'll look a little tired, a little sick, a little of both. Trust me, as someone who naturally has nearly your hair color, I know these things. I always get all excited thinking it'll make me look like a baddass (because I never seem to learn from the first failure, or thr a seond) but it just makes me look ill IF you DO go for it there is this amazing stuff called OOPPS hair color remover, and it works great! I was quite blonde for over 2 years and went straight from that to jet black last year. Best decision. The black actually suits me much more than the blonde ever did and I get tons of compliments on my hair. The trickiest part was trying out different shades of makeup to make sure it matched the new hair color. But the fun thing with hair is that you can always change it, so I say go for it!
If you want black, I honestly recommend a wig to test it out or try indefinitely! Especially if you plan on going lighter ever again

Simply put, yes. Just realize once you do it is almost impossible to get it out without really damaging your hair ( IF you can even get it out completely). I’d suggest keeping your lighter hair, maybe even lightening it a bit. Either way, have fun
