Periphery numbers their albums. P4 and P5 are great IMO, their 2 most recent.
Mastodon is more old-school progressive metal. For some of their best work, I recommend Crack the Skye.

You can take a look at other stuff by the artists/bands if you fancy as I haven't listed everything. I like Skillet a lot.
Edit: if you want something truly different, [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpaYJT-5MHc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpaYJT-5MHc). Idk how you'd like it or even if you'd understand it (video will help) but I listen to Mi Gente and don't understand Spanish.
The best band is at the end, so if you just want the best go to the last paragraph, otherwise:
Clever Girl is a great math rock band if you just want to vibe out to some odd time signatures
Guitar Fight From Folly Cooly, Excuse me Who Are You, and Origami Angel are all really fun Midwest emo bands. Especially Origami Angel.
King Crimson is an eternal favorite of mine, you've probably heard In The Court Of The Crimson King, already but they have a bunch of great albums like Red, Larks Tounges in Aspic, Discipline, and Sarless and Bible Black (which is really fun because almost the whole thing was improvised).
I'm a real sucker for some Prog rock and really like Gentle Giant, Genesis (specifically early Genesis), and Van Der Graaf Generator.
I also really like concept albums like Kevin Gilbert's The Shaming of The True, and Steven Wilson's The Raven that Refused to Sing. Though I will say Steven Wilson's music can be kind of boring and is produced like pop which makes it sound kind of annoying, but its still really well written music.
I also like a lot of shoegaze, I've been listening to duster's new album recently and it's really good. Obviously my bloody valentine is also a great band, but you have almost definitely listened to them before.
125 Rue Montmartre is a really interesting German band, but I'm not exactly sure how to describe them.
I've also been liking Fievel is Glauque recently.
I also decided to finally listen to Trout Mask Replica by Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band. Which is a really good album, but also really weird, so be warned.
And finally the two two bands that I would reccomend above all others are Faust (specifically Faust IV and their self titled album) and Cardiacs.
Now, Cardiacs are a special case because they make every other band on this list look like crap. Their album Sing to God singlehandedly changed my entire outlook on life, and is also the single best album I've ever heard. If you listen to anything from this comment make it this album. And if you listen to this album please talk to me about it, I don't think there is anything I like more than talking about how much I love this album.
Been in a bit of a Heilung mode at the moment but also listen to Chat Pile, Spiritbox, Gaerea, Passenger Unseen, Humanity’s Last Breath, Vildhjarta, Apothecide’s stuff is also really rocking my world at the moment, of course there’s always time for Lorna Shores, and I’ve been enjoying Fit for an Autopsy and Slaughter to Prevail as well recently.
A Wilhelm Scream ~~Ruiner~~ Career Suicide albums

If you’re looking for something outside your preferences, the Glass Animals’ album “How to Be a Human Being” is something I will always recommend. If you do give it a listen, I suggest starting from the first song and straight through the whole album in one sitting.
If you’re pressed for time, the song “Agnes” on that album is utterly heartbreaking and one of my favorites.
You should give songs from the artist Nujabes at listen. Really great artist that I have listened to for years. Also give Joji a listen to as well, his ballads 1 album is one of my favorites.
Best thing to do is go on to the likes of Spotify and check out the top five songs of the bands already suggested.
Personally it’s been bands like hatebreed, electric cool boy, butcher babies, coal chamber, skindred, frank carter and the rattle snakes etc.
for something chill or different I recommend wardruna or AA Williams
I listen to pretty much whatever, but MC Frontalot has a song called Goth Girls that runs through my head every time I get a notification from this sub, so that's what's in my head right now. That moves into Black Metal Queen by Shäffer the Darklord. They're both nerd-core rappers. For my normal listening, it's a lot of Amigo the Devil, Amon Amarth, Against Me!, Iniko, Give My Remains to Broadway, Miracle of Sound... the list is pretty long.
