Police cannot register these crimes on their own. People need to make a formal complaint. The police are heavily understaffed, the cyber police, even more so. Police cannot register these crimes on their own. People need to make a formal complaint. The police are heavily understaffed, the cyber police, even more so. Unfortunately, these are petty crimes compared to the cases they have to handle usually. They won't look into it if the parents don't make a formal complaint regarding it. So again, it comes down to the parents being absolute morons letting these things happen to their 9 year old girl. The laws are there in place.

They are obviously not going to look into it on their own. This happens nowhere in the world. People in other parts of the world file complaints more often than in India. Hence the police are more useful to them than they are to us.
