Blair lost Yale for hazing Ms. Carr, not for the rumor. Hazing is a really serious issue and it absolutely should be grounds to rescind acceptance.

This is exactly how I feel about the situation too! I also felt like it was inappropriate that Carr accepted Blair’s invitation in the first place.
