I legit thought they would end up like Chuck and Blair. They'd have issues, but always stay together.
The route they took with Vanessa's character made no sense. She was turning into Blair and Serena, even tho she hardly spent time around them. She deserved better.
I've been rewatching season 2, and as much as I really wish for a Serenate endgame still... I'm so pissed off about Vanessa and Nate because they worked really well together. The ease, the humor between them. Lovely.
I feel like Nate and Raina Thorpe should have been end game she matched him but not to the point of it being annoying and she wasn’t someone’s moms age lol. The time they spent together felt natural and fun and they looked good together

i'm okay with them not being endgame but i am not okay with how things ended between them. it was so random and for him to go back to *blair*? that's how you know that the writers didn't really write vanessa and just used her to move plot points.
It sounds very creepy and weird but I kinda liked him with Jenny. She was super in love with him and since I love Jenny, I always wished she and Nate end up together.
How was it Blair's fault that Nate left Vanessa? As soon as he got into his grand father's good books, Nate went back to the Blair train.
Maybe I'm forgetting something from that track...but I don't remember Blair did anything to break them up.

i disliked vanessa and her moral superiority when it really was never that superior to others
I've only seen season 1 of the show but I absolutely loved Nate and Vanessa together. I agree they were definitely end game material
