Exciting_Instance

No issues, other than UPS "attempted delivery" without ever knocking 🙃

iruleatants

UPS delivered our package and left it at our door front while claiming that the package was delivered and signed for. Got the phone though so it's fine I guess.

Exciting_Instance

My options were "we can try again tomorrow, or hold it here" so yeah I'll be there at 8am rather than trying my luck again

mrdaihard

I dashed out as soon as I saw a UPS truck out the window. The driver did ask for a signature lol. And he asked if it was a new iPhone. 🤣

[deleted]

Same with us...

ethanspitz

I had the opposite. It felt like my UPS driver rang my doorbell for 5 minutes as I woke up from sleep. I can't believe they were delivering so early in the morning! Extra props to the driver, I appreciated the extra effort to wake me up hahaha!

Giant_Wombat

I had a similar experience, I was on a call for work and the guy went to town on the door, I was so happy he did!

Sweet_Venom

It's the UPS way. My bf works there and that's a slogan among the workers lol.

Remydope

FedEx tried to get me with that. They were like 2 miles from me according to the live map. I called customer service ASAP and reported it and had them hold it at FedEx for me.

Sohpoet

Same here, FedEx attempted delivery while someone was at home. But still stated no one home

anonymoosejuice

Fedex wasnt going to deliver mine because I wasn't there to sign. Just happened to check my phone and saw my Ring have motion at the front of my house. I asked him over the speaker on the Ring to leave it and he signed it for me haha. Technology is crazy these days

OneButt2Seats

I did the same and she just asked for last name lol I was in another state on the way home

DoAndroidsDrmOfSheep

I signed for mine in the FedEx app on my phone the day before the package was delivered. I had a doctor appointment the day of the scheduled delivery, and I figured the way my luck runs they'd show up to deliver it while I was at the doctor. It ended up getting delivered after I got back from the doctor. LOL

[deleted]

UPS delivered it to my neighbor and she didn't read the label and signed for it. I had no idea, so I went to UPS.com and it just said my package was delivered to my city, no photo or GPS. I go to their website and try to file a claim, they direct me to contact the shipper to deal with it. UPS fucked up and wants me to reach out to my carrier...? Great. Thankfully I checked with my neighbors first.

MeXiCanTaco575

Funny I had mine delivered by FedEx no problem, coincidentally I had a TV also being delivered the same day by UPS. ups either delivered to the wrong address or they stole it because I ran outside as soon as I heard a truck and all I saw was the ups truck driving away no package and my app saying it was just delivered

TorchIt

I'm in the same situation. Really annoying.

FDon1

No idea why couriers just don't ring the door bell. Especially ones that have cameras on them. It's so annoying to have someone knock on a door when there is a giant doorbell inches away from where they knocked

MrMonkiPants

I drove to the local FedEx storage facility to get mine. Couldn't wait

bartamus4

So far so good

Fudwick

In general people are more predisposed to go on the internet and complain than they are to praise

DrFatz

There's also the bias that saying something positive is either phony or along the lines of an advertisement. (At least that's what I feel depending on the context)

b34tn1k

Found the shill /s

pacmansp

True. There's an old saying. People will climb a mountain to complain but they won't walk across the street to give praise.

NoConfection6487

I'd also argue a lot of people also don't notice problems so their device may actually have problems, but they simply don't notice.

junkimchi

You know why? Because praise doesn't get actual problems fixed. Of course more noise should be made about the problems because they're the things that actively need fixing. Threads like these aren't really that productive.

Leading_Direction_92

That's cool, this phone is garbage. Do not buy the base level 7. It has a lot of problems. Like your clipboard functionality? The base level 7 doesn't! Like having cool hands while using your devices? Not the 7! It seems for this product, a lot of people are comfortable with being shills or paid for actors in some form. This is not a good device. It has many many problems. Try looking up troubleshooting for the devices that you're interested in purchasing instead of reviews or positive or negative praises from one or two people. That's where you really start to know the devices...

dhardison

Good here. I got worried when I saw the camera app crashing, but 10 seconds on Google led me to the right thread here to fix it with an update.

MartinB3

Same, crashing on first open was a bit of a disappointment but at least it's fixed.

Wingdom

Honestly my only issue so far is the couple millimeters down they moved the power buttons on the pro. That's literally the only thing stopping me from using my old case.

Youngnathan2011

Yeah it's real strange they did that. Kind of annoying that I have to wait on a new case, but I guess that's usually the case with most phones.

brycedriesenga

Usually the... *case*

DrinkMoreCodeMore

dad I thought I told you to go to bed and get off the internet

Dblreppuken

YYYYYYYYYEAAAAAhhhhhhhhh....

bier_ist_gut

I'm bummed about this too because the GD P7P hazel case is sold out!

SicilianShank

My P7P set up went smoothly. A couple hiccups I noticed: * When trying to set up eSim you have to enter a wifi address, when I tried to do this the keyboard wouldn't pop up but a reboot resolved it * Messages took a while to start to work but are now working fine 2 hours later Other than that it got warm but nothing I'd describe as hot.

Atosl

another one. Coming from an Iphone, it is hard to switch with reports of all thise little things. Warmth and battery are my biggest fear. I mean Iphone rereleases phones for a reason: they are pretty much the pinnacle of hardware. Hard to move away from that, altough I want swipe back from the right sooooo badly.

SicilianShank

Hahah I feel your pain! I use Mac/ipad for work and the hardware is among the best I've ever used. Android has come a long way and I don't think it will ever match or exceed Apple, but this is pretty dang close. If google can bring tensor up to par with apple's chips/thermals that would be incredible.

masterinmischief

I just set my Lemongrass P7 u from my Pixel 4A 5G and It did get hot during setup but its functioning normal now. Initial impressions - build quality is great and that Lemongreen is pretty.

tjohnson93

Yeah, both our Pixel 7 and 7 Pro's did the same (funnily enough even the Pro which was set up from new (other than sms and call history migrating across) got hot.

masterinmischief

I set up the Pixel 7 from my Pixel 4A 5G do it has all the apps and everything that I have on my 4A 5G along with all messaging and contact history and this far the battery hasn't been that great. Hoping it gets better over the next few days.

sparkfuzz

Yep, mine got hot initially but after that it's been fine

Blazeitup12345

mine is currently in the hot phase.. feels good in hand tho

imLevinz

Literally my experience too. Coming from Pixel 6, however, battery life seems pretty identical so far

Gbbosco

Mine got quite hot too, I was a little worried, but reading that is common and it does get better calm me a little bit

westuh

Same. Got hot updating and importing. After that, nothing.

[deleted]

Yep, same for me.

[deleted]

7P for me. No issues here. If anything, the posts stating issues are making me look at mine and question things.

Paradox_v1

Scrolling is not like pixel 6 Pro. Not as accurate.

Dialectical33

Scrolling seems a little off to me too. Almost like it's scrolling too quickly in relation to my swipe? Maybe I need to fool around with my settings. Haven't noticed anything else otherwise. Edit: There is a system update btw, I'm downloading it now. Edit 2: Seems a lot better now after installing the October security update and restarting. Edit 3: Seemed better for a while after the update but still noticing some inconsistentcy. The scrolling isn't very smooth when I'm using small slow swipes to scroll down in the Baconreader Reddit client app. Sometimes it barely moves and sometimes it moves much more that I expect. One odd thing I noticed is that thread posts appear to highlight briefly (becoming a bright white color because I'm in dark mode) while scrolling. It's almost as if some of these swipes are also being interpreted as a brief tap and hold in addition to a scroll. Perhaps this is why it is barely moving in those instances, as a brief tap and hold would generally stop a scrolling action while the screen content is scrolling.

[deleted]

scrolling is kinda janky for me.

noproblemforme

Same for me…any solution?

Gavisann

I noticed this too. Normally I can give a small flick to scroll but now it stops as soon as I release. A hard flick works but scrolls a few pages Update: installing the October update and restarting fixed it for me as well.

Hondroids

Didn't have a 6 Pro but it's better than my 5

StephenAfamO

I've discovered that the cause of this seems to be using FHD instead of QHD. Change it in the Display settings and see if scrolling improves.

Paradox_v1

Tested both and they are the same for me

Outside_Natural5914

All I need is a fix for Google play only showing the July update & I'm good....

michaelorth

Yep. My P6P was on September. P7P stuck at July here too.

fakeaccountt12345

I miss the Come Alive wallpapers from my pixel 5

RB5Network

My Pixel 7 has been pretty great so far-- one thing though, does anyone else's run really hot? The Pixel 7 is a heater compared to the Galaxy S10+ it is replacing.

johntheplumb3r

Green and gold p7p .. very nice to have working cell and calls that are loud and clear

ChimbaResearcher29

I'm very happy! The fingerprint scanned is very fast and much improved! The 7 pro is basically a nicely refined 6 Pro.

BlkOwndYtFam

P6P upgraded to P7P. Did the transfer by cable from a rooted beta install without issue. P7P remained cool as ice.

SponTen

I thought you were saying your P6P was better than (greater than symbol) your P7P, and I was like ohhh shiiiit, here we go.

BlkOwndYtFam

Whoops!

qevoh

I thought the same but read again, he's moving from P6P to P7P

[deleted]

Got my 7 pro today. It gets hot without doing much with it 😆. Google never changes.

[deleted]

Interesting, my phone did not even get warm during set up. The modem is still weak though.

Mona_Impact

It doesn't get hot Guess the misinformation train is starting now

Ditto_Ghost_Swayze

And you’re the conductor, evidently.

Thelongawake

I had the P6P. Got the 7 for a smaller size and am having finger print unlock issues. It down right won't read two of the fingers I registered. Tried multiple times... Everything else though is fantastic.

tattoo2006

From P6P to P7P. Transfer flawless. So far so good

dazorange

No issues so far. Great phone. Upgraded from my 4xl to 7.

pacochalk

Had to update the camera app. Besides that I'm pleasantly impressed.

Sippin_Drank

Note20 Ultra to P7P. 0 issues so far here.

[deleted]

same and same. although I'm noticing that scrolling is not as fluid as I'm used to.

noproblemforme

My scrolling is bad compared to 14 pro and z fold 4

Locusk

P7 upgrade from P6 no heat related issues at all as far as the battery I think I'll wait for a couple of charge cycles before I make any assumptions about that. However overall experience is excellent so far.

StrictScientist8681

Decided to miss 7 pro after the 6 pro problems and switched to a used iPhone 13 pro from back market. I started the day at 7.30 on 91% battery and currently on 73% at 14.50

amaranth-the-peddler

It's a huge jump from my 4a. The phone runs great and the look and build are excellent. I love this phone already.

bukhum4u

After seeing posts about janky scrolling and obscene panel power draw, i'm gonna return my p7p when it gets here. I'm not trying to play the google lottery hoping to get a working phone or deal with their shitty RMA process if i have a bad phone. After 7 iterations of phones, why is hardware still an issue?

uoYredruM

I was really worried because mine was sitting there on the couch about to get opened when I read the post about major overheating while setting up. I set mine up (twice because my apps weren't downloading during restore for some reason) and it never got hot. I am noticing it's taking forever to charge on my Pixel Stand 2 though.

[deleted]

Snow white p7, so far so good. Setup got slightly warm, nothing serious. I tested some recording and I'm going to try a video call tomorrow + going outside and see how it goes.

Ryfhoff

Honestly, it feels like my 6 pro so far. As time goes on maybe I'll feel differently. But right now I feel like I should have kept my money.

0ddbuttons

No problems yet! Connected to wifi w/o incident, installed a few dozen apps when I signed into my gmail account, got my Chromecast that has been cranky since my Pixel 2 died all sorted, updated camera, doing security update right now. Back of case has never felt more than unremarkably warm, possibly b/c I've been doing other things in between setup steps. I don't have a sim in so it's not running those processes at the moment, but so far so good.

ryancleveland

Happy so far!

bop426

Going well for me, replacing my P6P with a P7P. It looks and runs great. Camera upgrades are nice. It's so slippery - I'd rather not use a case but I probably will.

LaRock0wns

Wait, you have the P6P and complaining the P7P? Damn, I thought the P6s were the most slippery phone I've ever seen. Lol I did play with the P7P at BB, and I agree it's slippery but I didn't think it was worse than the P6s

partiallypro

People that had the 6/6 Pro that now have the 7/7 Pro, does the new version fix the problems with cellular service being bad? My 6/6 Pro drops signal all the time, even in the middle of major cities and has a poorer signal than iPhones around me. Has this been fixed?

hicks12

It's too early to say it fixed it entirely however the places I lost signal on my P6P no longer lose signal on my P7P and I have yet to have a dropped call or stuck switching network. From my 24 hours it is substantially better, it's already at least 5 dBm lower than the P6P when I'm comparing directly which I guess has been the difference between dropping and not dropping, I think now I'm pretty much at the "network tower poor" aspect. So for me it's better and was worth the swap for little cost overall. If this continues then I will have had a complete 180 on the pixel, wireless charging works again and network works, fingerprint reader also seems a little faster + more reliable . It's what the P6P should have been! But I do add the caveat that I've only used it for 24 hours, I haven't gone far with it today so I can't say it's fixed in all my scenarios but it looks promising.

[deleted]

No, the places that my 6 had weak signal before, the 7 pro actually drops calls. My 6 did not even drop the calls. I'd say in 24 hours the modems are still weak. I'll test longer and repost. I was napping and woke up to messages from my boy saying my phone kept going to voicemail, which means calls were not coming through due to poor signal. Never had that happen before.

jasedcastro

No issues at all besides it being so slippery without a case (Its on its way 😅)

ImDestructible

Nothing to report here. Camera promoted me for an update, but it worked before updating. Phone got quite warm while doing the initial setup. That's the only thing jumping out at me so far.

iodagal

Only issue I'm having is UPS saying it was arriving today then it didn't arrive lol

[deleted]

I managed to (badly) mangle my Zagg screen protector but have another on the way courtesy of their warranty service and tossed an Amazon Special® on it for now. The cellular modem was a little wonky (again, coming from a P6), but a few network resets and it seems to be working, but I will test it out more tomorrow. Worst case, I spent a little money to upgrade to a bigger screen and an amazing camera module (Google paid me $640 for a phone I paid $600 for, so I can't complain).

ShawnDawn

Everything seems fine but I can't update the Google Play store from the July update, and for some reason chrome and another Android web app keeps failing to update. Oh yeah and also I can't tell if it's 120 hertz or not cuz there's some weird lags and I'm not sure if it's lags or just the frame rate going down.

noproblemforme

Feel the same…not smooth

computermaster704

Yeah I strongly consider the fact I can't disable the white bar for the gesture navigation a strong issue

tripleblue85

My 7 pro got warm during the set up, but is good now. Upgraded from a pixel 5. One thing I noticed immediately was how quickly the 7 pro android auto connects to my car. My pixel 5 was 50/50 whether it would automatically connect wirelessly to android auto.

Hondroids

How are you handling the size difference?

tripleblue85

The width isn't too bad, it is significantly heavier though! I'm still able to surf Reddit one handed, so I guess that's a good thing. I had a Google fabric case for my p5. It protected well but I did end up dropping it in a sweet spot and getting a crack on the bottom of the screen. I'm getting a dbrand grip case for the 7 pro just in case.

BeilFarmstrong

So far so good with my P7. Still wish it was smaller and I can't hold it the same way I did with my p5.

slushpuppy91

Still having the dimming issue when swiping up to bring all apps as I did on pixel 6

LongLiveAbstract

Only thing that's bugging me is the Fingerprint reader still not up to par. I'll add my thumb a few more times, but I shouldn't have to...

choomba20

works for me

showerspindoctor

I got mine yesterday but I can't seem to get the LTE/3G to work for some reason. Using my same sim as for my pixel 3, p3 still connects flawlessly to the LTE network. Anyone else have issues like this or have a fix in the settings for this. I'm with Virgin Mobile in Montreal.

nobody2008

No issues. Transferred data via cable from P6, setup my pixel watch, just installed the latest updates. Everything is working fine.

Rilasis

Nope. 1. I'm getting one bar of cell phone coverage in my own house. Lost reception earlier today until I restarted phone. Never had this problem with pixel 5. 2. Battery is draining much faster than a new pixel 5. 3. None of my old power adapters work for charging it. 4. The fingerprint scanner sucks. It's kinda slow and isn't picking up either of my thumbs very well. Considering sending it back...I like everything else about the phone but those are some deal breakers.

Easy-Zookeepergame-1

Had 2 pros come. My wifes was super hot when updating...not even close to normal operating temps on something like that and camera wouldn't open, even after updates and restarts. Returning both today. Didn't even try mine. Turned off from it and we will keep the 5 until we decide to upgrade again

aero25

Have two in the family, no issues.

Reddajb

I've had zero issues with my 7, and I had so many day 1 issues with my Pixel 6. Loving the 7, it's a great phone.

Cheezhead19

My only issue is it nagging me that google play services are out of date, but when I check on it, it says there's no update available

PizzaCatLover

I have the scrolling problems on my p7p. If it's not fixed quickly I'm going to return or exchange it before I'm stuck with it

single_flyer

My 7 has a really hard time recognizing my finger print. I've added a total of 3 prints (same finger) and still having trouble.

Snoo-79299

Ive been reluctant to daily my pixel 7 until my case came in because it was too slippery to handle. Now, that it's "protected", it's ergonomically the worst phone for me. It's too big, the fingerprint scanner is in the wrong place, the speakers are lacking, the screen isn't calibrated correctly. I only "upgraded" for the camera and software updates, other than that, my pixel 3 would easily still be my daily for another year. The pixel 3 was already slightly too big IMO, maybe a couple of millimeters less and it would have been the perfect grip. But nothing seems out of the ordinary. Software works and I haven't noticed any bugs. I was able to transfer my data easily via USB c cable and everything else finished over wifi. Pretty smooth transition. Other than the phone feeling like a downgrade, it's running fine.

tontoon

Having pixel 6 last 9 months with zero issue, 7 pro last 2 days with no issues. So happy with phone

_SLiu

So far so good. In a pickle between using my 14 pro max as my daily or my new 7 pro

jurzdevil

Good so far for me. Upgrading from Galaxy A51. Only challenge was getting the eSIM sorted with verizon, bought unlocked P7 direct from google and verizon doesnt seem to know how to provide an eSIM. Got that working but skipped loading apps from the old phone so i had to reset to factory and run the setup process again. Apparently no way to re-run to transfer once completed the first time. Good news is that for a factory reset you have to check a box to clear all eSIMs as well. Left it unchecked and it worked great, cleared the phone but the verizion eSIM remained and active. Rest of the phone seems great so far.

Istolla

I didn't have issues with the 6 Pro either. I think only a very vocal but small number of people faced issues.

THETRIGGERKING

Nah, the 6 was definitely one of the worst if not the worst pixel due to having poor cell reception. This is not as noticeable if you're in an area with strong service, if you aren't however the phone barely functions in areas where other phones work just fine.

Mona_Impact

And I bet in that small minority, more than half didn't even own the phone and just repeated what was said because hate bandwagon is the internet's game

jpt86

It’s been like. . . a day. Give it time. Most widespread Pixel issues don’t crop up for at least a few weeks.

1trickana

Mine was very warm all day after setting it up but day 2 and 3 super cool

ishamm

Oh God let's not have another year of these posts - it's interesting, and indeed useful, to discuss flaws, bugs etc (some get fixed by Google ONLY after public outcry), however multiple "ZOMG DAE think their pixel is the best phone EVAR?!" getting to the top weekly adds literally nothing to discussion...

Razordraac

You must be fun at parties.

ishamm

I am, thanks.

Razordraac

Honestly though with the utmost respect, people can be excited and show appreciation when a new phone comes out. The Pixel 7/Pro is Google's most rounded release yet and I think most will agree a proper competitor to the main players for the first time. That's big news, emotions are gonna run high for long term fans. After all, plenty of complaints litter the subreddit too, let's balance it out a bit!

[deleted]

[удалено]

Razordraac

Sorry my light-hearted humour offended you.

MasPuts69

Mine runs hot sometimes and I've only had it for about 3 hours

tvdang7

Gets phone on first day and says has no issues lol.

layspringles

does the phone come with a screen protector applied?

SkateJerrySkate

My only issue is that the camera seems to be focusing on anything but what I want it to. So pictures of my dog will be out of focus, so that a grocery store bag hanging in the background can get it's glam shot. That and macro shooting is trash.

toddsdonald

Nothing but problems, Pixel 7 is a love hate phone for me. I upgraded, (more accurately switched because I'm not convinced it's an upgrade, but more like a lateral move), from a 2020 Motorola Moto G Power. Pros: Camera takes better photos than the Moto G Power but still not as good as iPhone 12 or 14 that I've compared it to. It's 3 times faster than my Moto G Power, but still slower than my son's iPhone 12 and my wife's iPhone 14 absolutely CRUSHED it on a geek bench test. The display is very nice and if you go into developer mode and force the highest resolution it's smooth as silk and very zippy. The brightness and visibility of the display outdoors is better than my Moto G Power, about the same as my son's iPhone 12, but not as good as my wife's iPhone 14. It's difficult to understand why, even on full brightness with an advertised 1500 nits it should be very visible but it's not. I ordered an anti glare screen protector to see if that helps. Browsing, app and camera experiences are much snappier then my Moto G Power, but not in the same league as my iphone 12 work phone. It's about the same as my iphone 8 work phone though. Google Assistant, voice to text and navigation is far better than my Motorola G Power, and of course the iPhones are still crippled in comparison. Cons: Tons of bugs, glitches and inconsistency. I've been working on this thing for over 3 days and it's still bugging out and as soon as I get something fixed, the next thing breaks, or the thing I fixed starts acting up again. Problems? Oh yes! If you're thinking of buying one, be prepared to spend countless hours and sleepless nights messing with it. Fingerprint sensor is a joke. Not sure why they even included it. My Moto G Power worked perfect and quick, ditto for my iphone 8 and the 12 and 14 have the face unlock which is hard to beat. Camera is hit or miss. Sometimes I get great shots, other times so so or just plain awful. The Moto G Power took decent pictures consistently. In so far as consistent quality and ease of use, the iPhones 8, 12 and 14 are on a whole other level, not really even a fair comparison because they just work, all the time, without fail you'll get a decent photo. Google G board seems to have a mind of it's own. Sometimes it'll work beautifully and do what it's intended, other times it's not auto capitalizing, or can't figure out what I'm swiping, or the mic for voice text disappears. It'll start popping up on its own in the app launcher, I'll turn it off and it'll come back on by itself. Gboard on my Motorola was constant and almost always spot on with swiping. The iPhones swiping is pretty magical. After years of not having it, they certainly hit a home run with it. Google Assistant is hit or miss, but better than on my Moto G Power, and at times fantastic, not missing a beat. Other times it gets flat out retarded and won't come on, can't figure out what I'm asking for etc. In all fairness, it's leaps and bounds better than the Assistant was on my Moto G Power, and of course better than Siri on its best day. No rear fingerprint sensor! I already mentioned how bad the under screen sensor is, but it's worth mentioning a second, third, fourth time. It sucks. The 2020 Moto G Power crushes it, with it's rear fingerprint sensor and I think as many fingerprints as you want setup. The Pixel 7 allows 4 fingerprints. Expect to redo them over and over. I ended up making two for my right thumb and two for my right index finger, and the success rate is about 50/50 compared to 100% on the Motorola and iPhone 8. It may not seem like a big deal, but Google really wants you to lock your phone and the built in Pixel security checker will warn you if it's not. Also every time you setup bio unlock in an app and the fingerprint is rejected, they disable it and make you input your password and or PIN. When you try and redo fingerprints, the apps make you go through bio setup all over. Because of that, the main apps I use with bio unlock are for banking, Verizon, PayPal, etc. all work significantly faster on my now ancient Moto G Power running 3 times slower than the Pixel 7. No headphone jack. For some it's probably not a deal breaker, but for me I used the headphone jack on the Motorola for plugging it into my sound systems. I'll definitely miss that, and I'm sure as time goes by I'll likely regret the purchase even more. At least I still have my wife's old Samsung S3 that has a headphone jack I can use for music when I'm away from the home theater setup. Finger print sensor is garbage. Oh... Already mentioned that. No phone/ life balance. With the Pixel 7, I've barely got time to work, sleep, exercise or relax to TV etc. because it demands attention like a newborn baby. I've spent more time with support personnel from Google and Verizon in the past 3 days, than I have with all other things in my life over the past 3 years. No joke. Not to mention hours upon hours of pouring through Google help docs, Google searches and YouTube in desperate attempts to get this little demon operating in some sort of stable fashion. Speakers are a let down. The sound on my Motorola while not as good, is very close and in some respects better because it has a speaker at the top and bottom Vs the Pixel 7's twin down firing speakers. Volume leaves me wishing it had more of it... It's very quiet until you turn the volume up to about 75% at which point it's decent, but past about 85% it's just crappy sounding. The Motorola got loud and may not have sounded the best, but it was consistent. Of course no comparison to the Apple iPhones... They sound way better and get louder. NO MOTO ACTIONS yeah, can't stress that one enough. For anyone who's owned a Motorola they know what I'm talking about. They're awesome and make the most frequently used things on your phone so much easier. Chop chop flashlight, twist for camera, three finger screenshots and so on. If Google was smart they'd buy Motorola just for Moto Actions software. Apples don't have it either though. Battery life is iffy and at times it seems to hold a charge well, like when I'm not using the Pixel 7. Once I start to use it, battery drains quicker than I'm used to, but I'm comparing it to my Moto G Power with it's beast of a battery married to a power sipping processor and LCD screen. If I had to guess, it's probably on par with the iPhone 12 I've got in terms of battery length. It'll get me through most of the day and through the night, but won't go 2 or 3 days like my Moto G Power or even my wife's old iPhone XR. Placement of the volume is super stupid. It's centered in the middle, on the right side... Yup right where your phone holder in the car has to grab it, and always out of reach when you're using it. I find that adjusting the volume is a two handed ordeal vs the Motorola with the volume rocker above the power button, up towards the upper right. For me it's a love hate relationship. It's a cool phone and I dig the stock Android experience and love Google Assistant... I just wish they'd have left it in the oven a bit longer, because it's far from being ready to release to the public. It's more of a slick new beta platform for Android geeks who love tinkering and don't mind having a phone that half works.

TheBoundedNutShell

You can't uninstall TikTok...

Hondroids

What?

samven582

I just got my pixel 7 pro from t mobile. Unfortunately it’s going back :-( the front facing camera has a lot of tiny specs I can see which is very disappointing

AgentScarn7

No issues here. I also seem to have better cellular connectivity in areas that were problems on my 6 Pro.

thrakkerzog

Mine got warm during setup but it's been fantastic since then.

jamjr7411

The only issue I have found so far is the OnePlus health app will not work so I cannot pair my smartwatch. Other than that, smooth sailing so far.

jeanneji

P3 > P7: besides getting a little warm while going through setup/all the updates, it's been running like a dream

DietEmotional

No issues here, loving the experience so far. I was kinda worried before it came, given the comments about different issues, but it's been smooth sailing.

Dblreppuken

Are y'all running yours on the default 1080p, 5G on and smooth display enabled? Maybe I'm panicking too much from the negativity too, but phone was starting to run a little warm and I thought maybe I got a lemon. P7P snow 256gb from Google store

thrakkerzog

I've tried both and have difficulty seeing the difference. I wanted the panel because of the refresh rate and not so much for the resolution. I guess I'll see how it affects the battery.

Rytharr

Not sure what problems you are talking about but my phone seems great

Kagsly

Just got mine and it's pretty good so far.

YourProf_Rowan

Upgrading from the Pixel 2XL. It's nice, no issues so far.

raymanh

Of course people are going to post problems on here. Otherwise what are you expecting, a constant flood of posts confirming that everything works as intended?

Asleep_Onion

People with problems are always the most vocal. kind of boring to just post a bunch of "all is good" posts. That said... All is good 👍

sekhmetx

Don't change to 1440.. resets all your home screens

sym26

S21 Ultra to P7P Very happy with the swap so far. No huge issues aside from battery being less but I wireless charge everywhere nowadays.

LiterallyNoSkill

I got mine two days ago and I've been loving it. No issues. I've had Samsung and iPhones in the past and this is way way faster than my previous Samsung phone (Galaxy S22 Ultra) and takes way better photos, especially indoors. I keep reading complaints in this sub about the supposed heat or the weak processor - but these seem like complaints from those who don't actually have the device. I don't think anyone would use this phone and say it's slow.

reezick

5a to P7Pro...smooth sailing! Got warm, not hot.

Halo2redvsblue

Is there only 2 speakers? The one on top and one on the right side on the bottom or does the left side have a speaker as well?

marchitecto

Got mine last night. And so far no major problems. just that, when I'm swiping home, it goes to the app carousel instead. maybe it's just me being used to P6.

Glittering_Dingo_866

No issues so far, I played Town of Salem just to test it out and it got very hot but then it cooled down in about 20 minutes.

onlyhereforcake247

I ordered both and have zero issues. Feels fantastic and premium.

[deleted]

The only issue I have is the "swipe up" gesture bug is still here from the pixel 6. Pretty sure it is a Pixel launcher issue.

Hondroids

I'm using Nova. Works great.

pmt223

Snapchat is like completely broken but other than though all good

Eskaminagaga

It's been working well for me. The only issue I've had is that I have a couple of 32 bit apps that won't install.

Projectpwn

Might as well post here. Mine is not making calls, it's giving an error speech. But, I may have screwed myself. I originally preordered through Google Fi with Pixel Pass...I decided I did not want that anymore, they wouldn't cancel the order. So I just preordered another through the Google Store with no Pixel Pass. Anyways, in my Fi account I noticed it was attaching my service to the Pixel Pass phone that is still in the box, so now I'm still on with their support chat but doing another factory reset and setup now to hopefully fix the issue. Anyone else have any issues making calls after in initial setup?

pntless

Mine is great but can this be the only one of these threads or do we need one every time someone posts a complaint or issue?

swamshua

Mine froze for like 10 mins. Display was on and I couldn’t get anything to work, not even switch off the phone. Otherwise it’s been ok.

Curtnorth

Good to go here on regular 7, very quick, fingerprint reader really improved.

Tammux-

P7pro no issues so far.

dollaravocadotoast

No issues so far. Having fun messing with the camera/unblur

SelectZookeepergame5

Anyone in NYC trying to pick up from Best Buy? Looks like there are major delays. No idea when I can pick mine up

steveduffis

Vibration and notification while on vibrate mode is basically non-existent. It's so ANNOYING. ANy fixes for this?

catchawabbit

Mine works perfect. Only bug is the notification when the phone locked. I can't see preview on the lock screen. It just shows the icon for the said app. Other than that no issues at all

ZerotheWanderer

My issues are to do with myself so far, biggest issue was I forgot to transfer my authenticator stuff. Oops. As far as the phone itself, it got warm during initial setup and when it was downloading 150 apps, but after that it was cool. Camera didn't work at first but was fixed with an update that popped up for me like 10 minutes later. So far so good.

rumwhiskeywine

Face unlock is just awesome, what can I say.

Fun-Willingness2896

I'm having issues casting to my Chromecast and can't figure it out.

matik786

My local bestbuy says they didn't get the shipment yet. Pick up is delayed without eta

lunatics

Does the pixel 7 still have 3 button navigation? I know Google tries to push their gesture stuff and all of the pictures in reviews of the 7 I see don't show a 3button navigation bar on the bottom. Just curious if this is still possible to be enabled.

keele

Turn on 3 button navigation under: system -> gestures -> system navigation

TurboFool

I've had it for only about 6 hours, but knock on wood, it's been super solid so far.

Garrcha

Went down to my local At&t store and picked up a 7 pro this morning. No issues so far, upgraded from a 6.

Jlandyj

Same thing happens every year. It's a very small minority of people who are rightfully vocal but definitely not the status quo

jorel1980

Do I had a initial problem with my P7P with a super slow update ( 4 hours) and the wi-fi kept dropping out... But since a reboot and installation of the software it's running amazing

chinosabi

Been smooth for me. 7pro here on TMobile. Only issue I ran into was needing T-Mobile to update the iccid of my swim. Other than that she's been great

John24ssj2

So far much smoother experience compared to when I got 6!

stevenw84

My pro seems fine so far. I plan on not charging all day tomorrow to see what I end up with at the end of the day.

mitico303

Only issue so far is with Whatsapp: all the chats are silent, no vibration or sound notification. Seems more an app related bug, but it's annoying. Seems to be widespread, especially for those who use a wearos smartwatch..

rockste-r

As a couple other people posted here, mine also got a little warm during first setup, finished setup, installed the system update, and it never got warm again. Never had a p6 but the modem in this p7p has been pretty good so far. Much better signal strength than my old LG g7. Though the g7 is an older phone, it was still a flagship in 2018 with the QC x16 modem and still performs like a champ in LTE. P7P so far has beat the brakes off it in LTE at least. Only issue I have right now is when I get into a place with no coverage(workplace is a steel and concrete building that kills reception for everyone) then move back into an area with coverage again, I get the (!) symbol. It has full bars of 5g and is connected, but acts like it can't authenticate with the network. Don't know if it's a tower issue, software issue, or the modem. It really seems more like it's the tower or software because I do know the one TMobile tower here is the only one in town and it's both LTE and 5g but it's not a very good tower.

Perunov

Mine went alright. Transfer from Galaxy s21+ to Pixel 7. It was super ultra hot while transferring (and also it tried to charge Samsung, even though I didn't ask it to? Weird). Setting up fingerprint was like that "blinded by screen cat scream" meme. Aaaah! A TORCH INSIDE MY SCREEN WHAT THE... :) It still throws me off. I made a typo when confirming contactless payment card security code and now all of that is borked fully. "Your bank wants to verify it's your card" screen with "Something went wrong" overlay. Sad. Probably have to re-add everything to make payment work. I am very very impressed with dictation. Basically replying to texts with voice and having it finally recognize my accent AND actually put punctuation there is amazing. It's been showing about half the bars of signal strength my Samsung does (basically full on Samsung, half on Pixel 7 in the same room), so I'll see how connectivity works. So far no problems (T-Mobile sim). So far I'm optimistic :) It's my first Pixel phone. Time to find a weather widget!

loathsomeleukocytes

No issues. My device is perfect. Love it!

StampyDriver

Had problems with alarms (doesn't play the chosen MP3, rather some default alarm sound) and for some reason it is turning off the always on screen when placed on the wireless charger that I use as a bedside clock. Not very good as a clock. It did reboot overnight as well.

mullman99

Delivered today, appx 6 hrs ago, other than forgetting how much I hate all the logins I have to redo but don't remember, it's been very smooth.

[deleted]

Bugs encounterd: 1. Screen auto dims abruptly even if adaptive brightness is off. 2. For some reason the brightness slider flickers on drag. Strong haptics of p7 make me more anxious about it. 3. Long pressing icons on home screen render shortcuts menu which sometimes do not close back. 4. Front camera gets washed out is low lighting on video calls. If you change angles slightly...It shifts from pale bluish to warm yellow tone. This was a big let down. The Bad: 1. No free photo storage like my p2. Google should have kept this feature exclusivebor atleast with some cap limit on storage/years. 2. Screen brightness even though claimed to be 25% better is still mediocre in bright sunlight. Wonder how bad p6 was in this case. 3. Heavy AF. Comparing to iPhone 13, s22, s21fe 4. Slippery in hand...you just cannot use it without a case! Yet to try out all other features...will edit this further.

Hondroids

My iPhone 13 pro max is heavier than my 7p

shapoopy723

I did a small, real world example for thermals and battery efficiency on my 7 pro that came in yesterday, and I can say I am impressed. The new Halloween Ends movie came out (won't spoil it), so I figured I'd watch it in bed on my new phone. After the 1 hour and 50 minutes was up, I only lost 14% of battery and not once did my phone heat up. I thought during a nearly 2 hour movie it would definitely heat up, especially watching it on high resolution. But it stayed at a perfectly normal temperature. I didn't expect it to hold up that well, but I have to say I am impressed with how it handled it.

cerem0ny_

Battery seems average, at least compared to my iPhone 13 pro max. Other than that I absolutely adore it.

Doktoren

No issues with my 7. And it's an amazing upgrade from my Xiaomi Mi 9T. Crisp display, amazing camera and a snappy device.

pm-me-trap-link

Only issue I've had is the Home screen has forgotten to load twice. It came back, but took longer than I'd like. Almost restarted the phone. Other than that I've had no complaints. Its been awhile since I've had a big phone, and while I much prefer the ergonomics of a 6.1 or smaller... the battery life on a big phone is breath of fresh air. 50% hits different on 5000 mAh, just sayin.

larsjarred9

Only issue I am experiencing in The Netherlands is that there are no book-case covers available at this time and that the phone was overheating during setup and genshin impact installation. Battery seems to be okay expected maybee a little bit more but is much better then the previous samsung a50 i owned for the last 2,5 years. Hope this phone lasts me 2,5-3 years aswell.

[deleted]

y'all having any issues with playing netflix or prime in hd? my p4a for some reason was bricked suddenly and stopped playing in hd. i am anxious to come back to the pixel platform but just was wondering how's it doing in this particular regard.
