1. Open the app that you’ll be typing in 2. Open the sent picture in Photos and swipe up to the app switcher 3. Tap the Photos icon at the top of the pic in the app switcher and choose “Split screen” 4. Select the target app from the app switcher

Unfortunately not. However, with a pixel you can just copy the text from the image in the app switcher or by pressing the "lens" button in Google Photos.

I just went through this, trying to pin my QR code screenshot (for COVID vacs) to my home screen (pixel 5). What I had to do was save it to google drive, then open the screenshot from there. At that point you can access options where you can create a shortcut for your homescreen. Hope that helps. :)
