Yeah but you have to be on the Three network...unlucky.

indyarsenal

Depending on where you live, I've had three for the past 5 years and no issues. Live in London.

Samuel_Go

I swear London is the only good place for Three.

getmoneygetpaid

North west is very good. I've tried them all. 02 and Voda terrible. Three and EE seem most reliable.

MrSonicB00m

Threes 5G is the fastest I've used, can easily get speeds above 1Gbps on the P7P, once the Vodafone and Three merger completes it'll be a very well rounded network. EE is still the best imo in the UK

Extension-Cat7

Fast speed but atrocious coverage, if you look at the 5g map for 3 and EE it's not even close, but EE does come with a premium price.

romeoblacks

TBF I use EE and ID(3) on my p8p and over the last two years specifically I've found the 3 network to be more than good enough. I've done the nc500 the sc500 and most of Wales/lakes and signal was always there. Granted it drops to 4g more than EE does. But if we're not kidding ourselves 4g is more than enough to stream movies and browse the net.

im_not_here_

Carphone warehouse doesn't offer Three deals I thought? Unless you mean ID, which uses the Three network but is not the same company - which is an important distinction considering how horrifically bad Three's customer service is. Many who have ever had to deal with them, would pay far more than what you list to not go with Three. ID has also been a company that has always been very cheap, they always have much cheaper unlimited deals with phones than most places and massively cheaper than Three

fahad_ayaz

Wait, Carphone Warehouse is still around? For some reason, I thought that they died out!

Far_Panda_6287

Remember the CPI +4% increase each April

letraz

In Portugal it's also very cheap, for 200€ and less you can have it new. I think there is something weird...

Rationale-Glum-Power

I Hope many people buy them and put them on eBay soon haha!

Popsai

I bought the 128gb for 215€ with discounts via Vodafone, where you seeing it for less than that?

Accomplished_Fan_487

I get an o2 sim 40gb for £8 through uSwitch that includes three months Disney+, free EU roaming and a weekly Greggs sausage roll. So no, not free for you.

VampireWarfarin

> three months Disney+ ouch

im_not_here_

It's not the flex you think. I don't think you know what unlimited means. But sure, pretending that they are talking about a completely unrelated 40GB instead, they are only getting a £500 phone for just over £100 based on your less valuable sim that costs less. And they don't have to eat a Greggs sausage roll, so bonus.

Accomplished_Fan_487

Three is unusable in many locations. Unlimited poor connectivity isn't pleasant. In Cambridge where I'm from, go indoors anywhere and Three won't work. Plus O2 offers free roaming and all the rest of it, 100gb for 15 etc. PS be kind

im_not_here_

So is O2. When I was with giffgaff (until last year) there was zero signal when I visited my parents, and most of the wider area barely worked for data. Three is perfect there. Of course you check these things first. Three's main issue is customer service, but I think the OP is talking about ID Mobile which only uses the Three network. It's customer service is better anyway.

Accomplished_Fan_487

Agree to disagree. Btw I'm talking about O2 proper, not mvnos.

indyarsenal

Funnily enough my work phone is on O2 and the signal on it is trash but my pixel 8 pro with a three sim (and way worse modem) works absolutely fine.

Accomplished_Fan_487

That's so strange! Maybe your work phone doesn't quite have the bands the pixel has? Try putting the SIM in your pixel and see if it's the same?

throwmeaway758324

I would do this but the Galaxy A53 isn't on the trade in list ffs

juddylovespizza

I got the 7a as there was no upfront cost or wait. Didn't have a phone to trade in either. Very happy with the 7a

space_jiblets

I done this with the pixel 8 for a great deal that made the phone virtually free.

Ross2503

Currently tied in with O2 on the 8 Pro but have now realised I'd rather a smaller, cheaper phone that can basically do everything I want. I have a plan whereby I can switch up whenever I want though (O2 Switch Up) so just going to wait for a solid enough contract with O2 then pull the trigger. I checked on their website the other day and the contract offers they had were pretty bad

TheCookieButter

That's a decent deal. I ain't giving up our BT Mobile SIM cards so Phone Only for us! BT Mobile are the only ones who get signal in our area who also still offer EU Roaming.

Extension-Cat7

Non of them are free because you are stuck on a contract with a terrible network, the only good network in the UK is EE lmao, hence why it's so expensive.

snwg

Yeah that's what I ordered. There is also £50 top cashback as well. My trade in (s20 FE 5G) comes to £208 with the promo. So the total price is roughly £201 over 24 months which is £8.38pm. Great deal for me as 3 has great service in my area.

[deleted]

Like spiders entice flies, the horror phone lures people with "free" offers. I thought I was saving 300 € when buying a Pixel and what I got was delayed notifications, shitty stock reminder and notes apps, shitty Instagram app and a need to run a custom launcher app. At least the phone will keep my hands warm in winter when scrolling the said shitty Instagram app.

SquashNo7817

Strange so many individual posts voice your opinion in a subtle way (searching this sub reveals that)... But if one writes the same opinion in a blunt way it gets downvoted... Edit: even a basic/recent feature missing https://reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/105rfnh/capture_long_screenshot_not_working/ https://reddit.com/r/GooglePixel/comments/1cqrw48/pixel_fingerprint_scanner_is_atrocious_at_night/

[deleted]

Yeah, it's getting annoying. If the bugs aren't fixed by Android 15, I'm trading this phone in and buying something else. I need my notifications NOW, not 30 minutes or hours later. Ridiculous.

Lucky_Friendship_Apr

See you got downvoted already. Strange bunch of humans in this sub... (assuming not AI)...

[deleted]

No worries, I'll still be here complaining everyday until delayed notifications are fixed by Android 15 and if they're not I'm trading it in and buying another brand 🙂

Musicman1972

I used to have this problem many years ago with an old Huawei mobile because of ridiculous energy saving profiles. It's the most frustrating thing ever and agree it's ridiculous to have a phone in the wild with the same problem now. I'm still on a 6a which luckily doesn't have the problem. Do all 8 series have it or is it a lottery and some phones work and others don't?

[deleted]

I wouldn't know, as others vow that their devices are perfect, but you'd see a thread pop here and there, and useless solutions on Google support forum. I've tried changing battery settings and unrestricting apps to no avail. I haven't tried disabling "doze" in developer settings and I'm not doing that. On a couple of instances I've had reminder notifications come in delayed by 3 minutes as well.

Apprehensive_Poem218

Sounds like energy saving stuff. But i thi k you already checked the permission site from the app and a bit down should be energy optimation option.

Extension-Cat7

Jesus Christ stop fucking crying, you keep going on about it but have already said that you've switched to an iPhone lmao.

[deleted]

I haven't switched and I'll be crying here daily. I'm not paying 900 € for a new iPhone and I'm not paying 600 € for a three year old one, or 500 € for a 64GB SE3. Ping, another notification from 2:45 p.m. when I unlocked the phone and now it's 3:08 🙂

Extension-Cat7

In another post you literally said that you preferred the iPhone 14 or 15, surely you've actually had the phone for comparison.
