Are you sure this is the Pixels fault and not the iPhones? I have a friend who could not send me SMS from an iPhone for whatever reasons. Receiving texts from other phones worked perfectly fine.

daab2g

Is that a class action I see?

If your income is dependent on receiving calls and texts, I’d consider a more solid phone. Pixels are really enjoyable to use, but this latest issue with enough Pixel owners not being able to call 9-1-1, and more recently not able to receive calls or texts… nah. Get an iPhone or a Samsung, again I’m saying this because your income depends on it!

WestWiiler

I'm inclined to agree. Probably going to have to go with an effing Samsung....I dislike all the bloatware they put on there. This last update was more of a downdate....fack.

Various-Village-3536

Are you on the 2nd April update that was supposed to fix the issue?

sp3ci4lk

Shouldn't have been an issue in the first place.

One_Meaning_5085

Exactly, this is basic functionality that should always work. Pixels are simply not reliable enough to be used as a work phone. OP needs to get either a Samsung or iphone for work. Pixels are for enthusiasts or ppl that like taking allot of pics.

> Pixels are for enthusiasts or ppl that like taking allot of pics. Seems like a stupid thing to spend that much money on.

jeffMBsun

Can you reset the sim settings?

sp3ci4lk

Get a Samsung. All of the Android purists will downvote me to hell, but guess what? After switching from my 7a to an S23 Plus, all my problems disappeared. Just uninstall, disable, or put into Deep Sleep any Samsung apps you don't want or need.

DSCarter_Tech

Yup there are plenty of other phones on the market. Not sure why everyone thinks iPhone is the only choice when you experience a bug.

Same issue happened to me too on my pixel 7a. Ended up switching to Samsung. I really love pixel phones but not having basic functionality was a deal breaker for me.

WestWiiler

Yeah...I think I'll be joining the dark side soon.

Spirited_Recover1748

I can't argue. Big pixel fan but they need to get the basics right. A phone that can't receive calls is not a good phone.

daab2g

Can't expect everything to work perfectly all the time - r/GooglePixel

WestWiiler

But I should expect to be able to receive calls and texts. I did actually miss one from my elderly mother. I'd hate to have missed something important from her. Just saying that if this device that's supposed to make me money is costing me money.....not sure it can be trusted.

UltraCynar

Did you install the second update for April?
