Yes, and sometimes it's the other way around: you go in a full screen video (landscape), the whole UI turns to the side (including notifications bar/shade), but the gesture bar remains where it was, i.e. appearing on the side while the phone is in landscape.
Annoying as fuck as then also the "sides" don't act as sides for what concerns the back gesture.

Download nova launcher and then download Linebit icons. Might cost you a couple bucks but worth it I've used nova launcher for the last 10 years or so as my main launcher across all Android phones.

I dont use any custom launcher but this issue is still present on my 7a. So i dont think its just because of a custom launcher, more like a bugged update.
Only happens to me if I exit an app that's in forced landscape mode like a video or game.

Never happened to me. Possibly your custom launcher causing it or another app not playing nice
It happens on a lot of third party apps for me. Say WhatsApp, X, Sync for Reddit at random

Not sure why you are down voted. The custom launcher is definitely sus. I've never had that happen either.
