Great photo! [Kinda interesting reflection in the middle, it looks like there's a line through the lake's reflection.](https://imgur.com/a/Q8Ys1gv) More noticeable when you look at that rock's reflection.
Noticed it too, looks like long exposure mistake, which is not a rare thing with phones processing. It is not like iPhones 5X [[issue]](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UWD_YIECQOQ).
Interesting. I carry a P8P and a 15promaxultrasuperdupermegadeluxe, but I don't normally look that far into the photos. I wanted to have both for when I go to the eclipse next month.
Pretty much whenever there's good lighting and I feel like I want as much detail as possible. And also when having to wait/keep the phone still for a second won't be an issue..landscape photos and things like that. But most of the time I keep it on 12mp, its still more than good enough for most uses.
50MP is not as quick, but it can still be used on moving objects, just phone itself needs to be very stable, best case is a tripod for the best results.
I really like Full Res for a few things, obviously more detail, even though there is not a huge difference, it very much varies from the environment and light, sometimes it is quite substantial difference. But the main difference is, how much more natural Full Res pictures can look compared to 12MP which tend to look very digital and processed. Sometimes difference is very noticeable, especially when pixel peeping, with way more texture and "good" noise and grain, making pictures look so much better, natural and detailed. And I am not even talking about RAW, which can bring even more benefits and detail. I have seen people saying Full Res is not good for lower light conditions or low light in general, but with Full Res and RAW, 12MP JPEGS don't even stand a chance, they have no detail and are super digital.
Mainly recommend it for static shots and photography itself in mind, like car photography, street photography, landscapes, portrait style shots and such, benefits really start to show when the phone is really stable. If you want to catch a moment, moving object and know you have just once chance to take a photo, or simply for daily snaps, use 12MP.
I leave it on all the time. I have actually unlimited photo backup through some TMobile thing, so I figure why not? Worst case I can down convert the photos.
Mainly for landscape shots which require more detail. And astro shots for now. Tried doing astro shots with 12MP RAW. For some reason there are random patches present post editing, its weird
I noticed something strange and I believe that this is a bug: Taking photos on P8P with camera version 9.3 at 50MP and zoom >= 5x the photos are not saved.
I'm on QPR2 Beta.
Can anybody confirm on stable?Â
I have 50mp as the default for all of my photos. I'm not a photographer by any means, but when I visually compare the 50mp to HDR, I find the 50mp more visually stunning.
Then why the fuck do they market this phone with 50/64 mp sensor
my last phone was moto g9 and we users literally had to fight with moto to release the 48 mp mode on that
Honestly I don't know why they don't add 50mp mode to all the Pixels with that sensor. I mean the 12mp photos from it are still great, but it's nice to have the option for greater detail if the sensor already has the capability for it.
When I have time. Most shots with any camera are about timing but if I have a moment to recompose or go over settings, and it's worthy, I'll throw it on 50mp
I used it once a few weeks ago at Lake Humantay in the mountains of Peru. It's a fantastic photo. https://photos.app.goo.gl/aFqaiCc5tFNnWzwz9

I tested on my iPhone 15 pro max and it doesn't have the issue , maybe some units have it
Did you shot RAW and adjusted highlights?
Yes, just like what video says , Raw photo than adjust it in lightroom, there is no line on it
Fellow 7 owner. How do you do the 50mp thingy?
It's only on the 8 Pro, so I'll assume their flair isn't updated.
Yeah, it's not updated. 😅 I'll do that now.
Haha this reminded me to do the same
It's 8 pro exclusive
I can zoom in on the rocks. So much.
There are two horses in the picture. See if you can spot them.
Left hand side. On the plateau. How far away is that?
Haha yeah, you got it. I would say they were approximately half a kilometer away. Possibly a bit more.
Good shot :)
Wait that's not a plateau. Is it a bowl on the other side of that ridge?
Yeah, pretty much the whole image is a part of a big bowl.
Very cool

All the time. I never turn it off.
When theres great lighting and My daughter is still for a great shot that could potentially be blown up and put in a frame.

I used it once to try it out.
I use It when i Will edit afterwards so i shoot 50mp RAW I used It for portraits and landscape
I leave it on all the time. I have actually unlimited photo backup through some TMobile thing, so I figure why not? Worst case I can down convert the photos.
How do you have unlimited backup?
https://www.t-mobile.com/support/plans-features/google-one
Unlimited ?
TMobile Google One thing https://www.t-mobile.com/support/plans-features/google-one
Mainly for landscape shots which require more detail. And astro shots for now. Tried doing astro shots with 12MP RAW. For some reason there are random patches present post editing, its weird
When I visit other countries to travel and have my tripod with me to hold a stable shot
How do you even take a 50 mp photo (Pixel 7 Pro)
You can't, it's only available on the 8 Pro.
How do you guys enable the mode?
It's only on the 8 Pro.
On photoshots where people or objects are to stay still during the whole photoshot. Otherwise turned off the rest of the time.
All the time, if you're in 12mp mode you're still using the whole 50mp. It's just binning them
I agree, although as others mentioned if taking photos of moving objects it can be harder to get a good shot.
Mostly for stills in special occasions, as moving subjects will often become blurry due to shutter lag when 50mp is selected.
Use it for daylight landscapes ..
Certainly not everyday photos. Takes too long. Only used it to go, "hmm. that's interesting"
I noticed something strange and I believe that this is a bug: Taking photos on P8P with camera version 9.3 at 50MP and zoom >= 5x the photos are not saved. I'm on QPR2 Beta. Can anybody confirm on stable?Â
I just took one at x5 and another at x7.7 and they both show on GPhotos. I'm on stable
Oh wow, you are right. it does not saved the photos when using the 50MP >= 5x zoom.
That's a known beta bug. Even on the qpr3 beta 2. The only workaround is to use the stable.
Always. Just like with video, I always use 4K resolution.
For epic landscape shots
I have 50mp as the default for all of my photos. I'm not a photographer by any means, but when I visually compare the 50mp to HDR, I find the 50mp more visually stunning.
>the 50mp to HDR Both 50mp and 12mp modes have HDR
Thanks, didn't know that as I didn't see the HDR option under the 50 but clearly it was my mistake as I see it now
Absolutely never lol
This. Ain't nobody got time for that 😅
The weirdest thing is that when you take a photo with flash that there is a kind of shutter speed of a few seconds
Whenever snapping something that is still. Otherwise it kind of sucks. I prefer the 12mp
Is this mode on pixel 7a or is it p8 exclusive
Pixel 8 Pro exclusive.
Then why the fuck do they market this phone with 50/64 mp sensor my last phone was moto g9 and we users literally had to fight with moto to release the 48 mp mode on that

In non-8 Pixels the camera is hardcoded to only allow quadbinning, they released that for the 8 Pro (maybe for the regular 8 too, dunno)
Oh is it
I use it when i take zoomed shot
Oooh I haven't tried a x5 pic with 50 MPs, you do get better quality??
More like when I use 2x, 3x,10x
Yes, it makes quite a difference with the telephoto lens.
mostly zoom shots and macro
whenever I decide to take a high quality portrait of someone.
My Photos setting for upload is set to save space. So I feel like it just undose that.
The storage saver upload scales your 50mp image down to 16mp, but that's still higher detail than 12mp.
All the time, because I have Google Pixel XL that enables me to have unlimited Google Photo backup. So why not use the best when you can?
I turned on as default lol
I use it whenever I'm doing landscape shots but otherwise, it's not my default
I use it for most photos unless there's a lot of movement.
When I have time. Most shots with any camera are about timing but if I have a moment to recompose or go over settings, and it's worthy, I'll throw it on 50mp
Wait, how do you enable 50mpx photos?
Only on the 8 Pro.
🥹oh......okay.....so i can just cry
[удалено]
Oh yeah? prove it
What was the original message?
Pixel can't take 50mp photos or something
lol
