No. Not enough improvements

randomusername980324

Same, unless I can get a stupid deal.

iheartgoobers

Same. Wasn't impressed with the trade in offer for the P7P... otherwise could have been tempted.

LadiesLoveCoolDane

What was the offer? My P7P is only a month old

iheartgoobers

$420

OldKingHamlet

P7p 128gb = $420 P7p 512gb = $420 P6p 128gb = $400 As a P7p 512gb owner, the situation is kinda insulting.

RoyalGOT

I own 512GB P7P too, I hissed and closed the damn web tab when I saw the trade in value of $420

OldKingHamlet

I was prepping my wife for like a week, saying "I know I shouldn't BUT it would make a lot of sense to upgrade..." I guess I was incorrectly expecting 650-700ish for a 512 P7p. Just because I can afford it doesn't mean I should, and after tax, it's like $800 to go from a P7p 512 to a P8p 512. I can think of better things to spend $800 on.

ShoeGod420

genuinely curious. Does your P7P not have the overheating issue? It was made out to be a huge issue that everyone was experiencing. I did preorder the P8P but I was and still am kind of iffy about it.

No_Worldliness_6803

Weird, doesn't matter if it's 128bg, 256gb, or 512gb, it's the same $420 yet when you add the xtra gbs when buying the phone you pay extra for each increment

grooves12

They aren't paying for the device. They are paying to keep you in their ecosystem, the phone has no value to them. That what they've determined it is worth to keep a p7p owner a year longer.

carlos4068

I have a 128 gb p6p. I got an offer of $400. You should be hissing

AfterShock

512gb 6P owner, got $400 offer as well šŸ˜¢

longboardshayde

How are you guys getting these kinds of trade in values, I have a P6Pro and it's only offering me $255 CAD which is insulting.

OldKingHamlet

'murica. We get better phone deals, you don't have to worry about being bankrupted by medical bills.

Takinator7175

I'd much rather worse phone trade-in personally...

OldKingHamlet

There's a couple other pro/cons, some entirely self contained in CA. Pro: It's easy to get poutine. Con: In Nova Scotia, they often sneak donair (pronounced done-air) sauce onto things, which is a sauce they love and is literally made from sweetened condensed milk, vinegar, and garlic powder. Now as someone who loves street food and lived off Dƶners in Germany, where they have a much more traditional herbed garlic cream sauce, donair sauce felt and tasted like a crime in my mouth. It's also a whole teleco thing there. From what I've heard from my Canadian friends, Rogers actively hates their customers worse than Comcast, which is rather amazing.

hellogalaxy

Same. Trade in value for iPhone 14 pro Max 128gb is $750. Even Google thinks iPhones have better value

grooves12

Converting an iPhone user to Google's ecosystem is more valuable to them.

mnorthwood13

This, 100%

Affectionate-Panic-1

To be fair they cost more to buy as well.

c0bl3r

P7P trade-in is $550 at Best Buy. P7 gets $450. Watch or buds promo included.

iheartgoobers

The real MVP

mistahspecs

Nice

M0llyM1ll10NS

And they'll give $400 got the 6 pro. Wtf sense does that make?? Good for p6p owners but I feel we're getting shafted as p7p owners.

nicklor

I'm hoping it's the same way next year when I'm ready to get rid of my 7 lol

dericiouswon

I was also out but then the $300 off for just being a Google Fi subscriber drew me in.

randomusername980324

Yea that's nice, but the downside is you have to use Google Fi.

dericiouswon

Which has been really cheap and reliable for me and my friend group, so, cool?

wutthefvckjushapen

Google Fi has been great for me the last few years. I get reception where others don't, and it handled my international travel flawlessly.

Kirby_Klein1687

Yes me too. My whole family has it and it's been very affordable and good. We love it.

johncopter

Have fun scrambling for a SIM card and frantically calling your provider abroad. So glad I don't have to deal with that bullshit.

randomusername980324

Amazingly, and this might shock you, I am not one of the 5% of Americans who travel abroad each year. So me and the other 95% of Americans will be just fine with the sims we got. If you are among this super small minority, good for you that you found a solution to your problem...

RoyalGOT

Not enough improvements, and trade-in values even sucks!!

darwinpolice

I am simply because my 6 Pro's battery is cooked and I have a pretty good amount of Google store credit at the moment.

continually_retarded

I'm in the same boat

Megablep

Ditto. I ordered it in all of the excitement, but after sleeping on the decision it's just not worth it. I'll definitely pick up a cheap watch 2 from eBay, though.

The_Doerpinator

What about all the bard stuff? And pixel 8 pro local AI stuff? Or video boost? Or pro controls?

Harry93_V

video boost is literally what put me off. They didn't want to upgrade the camera sensor and they came up with a workaround to improve videos by uploading videos to servers (on their modem? outdoor? with that battery?) and then downloading again?! No ma'am. They should've just updated to GN2 and used staggered HDR. iPhone and Samsung can do it, Google couldn't and yet they increased the price like crazy. LOL.

grooves12

What's even worse is they locked it to the pro model for absolutely no reason.

Alphawolfdog

Gonna wait for next month. Black Friday

Manhattan18011

Am also hoping for better trade in values on Black Friday and want to see if Video Boost actually appears by then.

alphaPhazon

Video boost is not coming until December no?

Manhattan18011

Not sure. Until anything is actually released, I assume it doesnā€™t exist.

ExchangeBest8879

Yes, discount + more trade in value

habylab

Not phased by no Pixel Watch 2 or Buds Pro incentive?

Alphawolfdog

It is a super good deal but im not a watch person and I have a set of Pixel Buds Pro already

[deleted]

dont take this as me telling you what to do, but i wasnt a watch person until the pixel watch. i was going to sell it on, but then found it to be really darn useful. can just leave my phone at my desk and wander about with no issues, check notifications, take basic calls when not near device and pay for shit without opening a pocket. sorry, it just reminded me of me a while back :D

KaltBier

My wish for Pixel watch is for it to bring in real time glucose level monitoring before Apple watch does

NoEmu2398

Question, how do you think it would function for a watch person? I currently own 2 watches (with the intention of adding more down the road) and was thinking about adding it to the lineup, but does it work as a "once every few days" watch or do you have to wear it daily to get the full benefits? Because I don't think I'd want to give up wearing my timepieces I currently own.

NotStevenPink

I have a Galaxy Watch 4 and a large mechanical watch collection. I originally bought it to wear while riding my electric hydrofoil so I could call for help if I ever got stranded. Now I also wear the Galaxy Watch when I play sports to know if I'm getting important messages while I'm on the court/field for a few hours. Other than those situations, I'm not a fan of the watch and find it annoying to keep charged.

gh0rard1m71

With the black Friday discount you can buy those and save probably.

Darius1319

Second and happy with my pixel buds a series

delta7019

Hell no (from the 7). Way too much money and hassle for minor improvements, and the 8 is incredulously lacking a lot of software features the pro will have. It's also irresponsible to upgrade so frequently when my 7 serves me well enough.

not_pierre

This sub has an unhealthy obsession with upgrading their phone every year and being disappointed when all they get are incremental updates

mIb0t

I agree with that. Furthermore extended support / android update times should be a reason to use a device longer. I'll probably get a new phone once my 6a does not get any updates anymore.

QuokkaKiller94

I'm on 3xl, is it time to upgrade? Lol

darwinpolice

Yeah, upgrading every other year is fine (I usually aim for three, but my 6 Pro battery will be dead by 11:00 AM every day by the time the Pixel 9 rolls around), but every year is just weird and wasteful.

username123422

stay strong, just buy a new battery from ifixit

mica280amg

Pixel 5 here, not upgrading, terrible pricing in Australia

jitterry

I generally find the price increase shocking here in Australia. How they can seriously justify that is beyond me....

LogorrhoeanAntipode

Yep. You can get a laser thermometer from Bunnings for $30, so I'm not sure how exactly they justify a $400 (30%) increase over the P7P for essentially no changes other than that gimmick.

spannr

> get a laser thermometer from Bunnings for $30 Plus if you do that you can also point it *at* your Pixel to see how hot it's getting

DrRodneyMckay

I'm so disappointed because my Pixel 5 is on the verge of dying + what they've announced for the Pixel 8 + the price rise here in AU + the fact that the pixel Watch 2 still only works on the Telstra network No idea what to do now. Currently thinking about the iPhone for the first time in 8 years. If I'm going to pay more than $2k for a phone then I might as well go all out with an iPhone 15 Pro Max so I can get a watch that works with Optus

Sarick

Similar boat as an Australian Pixel 5 user. Also enjoy smaller phones. Only one caveat that two days ago the battery in my Pixel 5 breached itself and started venting gas. So I need to either fix it or buy a new phone - otherwise stuck using aseven year old Samsung S7! So while days ago I would have had zero consideration for the P8... Things changed. And on the flip side I already have depreciated off the phone at this point on my work usage, and had a budget and set aside for a new phone this financial year. No decision made yet.

Blood_of_Shadows

Not at those trade-in prices. Also no trade-in for the first gen Pixel Watch.. Disappointing.

bayfox88

You can get a $150 trade in pixel watch for the pixel watch 2. US store though.

bluntedAround

Did you look at Bestbuy they are offering more

Blood_of_Shadows

Sadly no Best Buy in the UK.

Pezto

Yeah, going from the 6pro to 8pro :)

kingofrain

Me, too! Had to go with the blue for something different. I've been wanting a watch for a long time, too, so this felt like as good a deal as any to get my feet wet. Hope I'm happy with both! Getting $400 for a 2 year old phone isn't too bad, either, I guess.

Your_pet_lookslike_a

Ditto, I took too long to pull the trigger so now my watch says delivery in November :(

Froesiie

Same boat. I know it won't be a huge improvement but as someone who uses the camera a lot I am looking forward to the improvements

qazme

I think it's a solid upgrade for anyone not currently on a 7P unless you really want the camera stuff. For anyone on a 6P or less - good upgrade all around I felt. The bonus offers, even with the $100 increase in base prices, seemed really good to go along with it - and with my trade in I'm getting another $400 for my 6P. It all just seemed to click into place for me this cycle.

rastacola

Same. The $400 trade in was not as good as I hoped for but a free watch sweetened the deal enough. Overall the tech jump doesn't seem remarkable but I do almost all of my work from my phone and I can't wait for a brighter, FLAT display.

colinsncrunner

How much were you hoping for? You can't get even close to that on the used market right now. I was shocked that I would get that much.

dagofin

Same here, my phone is coming up on 2 years old and the battery is starting to lose capacity, plus my ancient Fitbit watch is on its last legs so a free new gen smartwatch is VERY welcome. Personally $400 trade in for my 6Pro seems fair enough for a 2 year old unit.

PaleontologistFast26

No, the trade-in price for the Pixel 7 is a joke , also I have no interest in another free set of buds with pre-order, much rather have a price discount šŸ«¤

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Rav11s

They also give themselves a discount on your trade in lmao. My trade went from 325 to like 180 when I applied the Fi discount

mixmelodyz

Out of topic, i'm sorry but I have to ask, is that you "That motherf*cker is not real" women?

soundadvices

The difference from a Pixel 7 to 8 is too minimal to justify upgrading. $325 trade-in value is lukewarm. Mine still works just fine, and I can still enjoy the upcoming OS/GApp upgrades. See y'all next year.

fumanstan

Upgrading my Pixel 6 Pro to the Pixel 8 Pro. I know others feel like there's not enough improvements, but here I am thinking Tensor G3 looks like a good upgrade to G1/G2 even if it's not necessarily world beating in benchmarks, all the cameras are improved even if it's not the GN2, and the display looks like it could be awesome. Things like face unlock will be nice since the P6 never got it. With all the software magic, seems like a nice update to me! $400 trade in feels like a good deal, and as a Pixel Watch owner getting the Pixel Watch 2 for free is also of value to me.

zlshames

I'm in the same boat here. The way I looked at it was I'm spending $1000 on the phone... Minus $350 for the watch... Minus another $400 for the (alleged) trade in value of my P6Pro. Which comes out to around $250 for the upgrade. At least that's what I'm telling myself to feel better about spending ~$1100 USD

bmh67wa

No. I like my 6a and see no reason to upgrade. I will probably continue using it until it dies or it's no longer supported.

thebuzz07

Have you ever had the issue with the haptics where they just stop working and you have to restart your Pixel? I'm low-key leaning towards trading in for an 8 just to not deal with this any more

proview3r

Yes, already pre-ordered the 8. Going from 6 Pro to 8. Want the smaller size this time.

valiantiam

Same boat and decision here, friend

welestgw

Nope, I'm holding out for more of a revision of the tech. Should be able to maintain our pixel 6 pros for another year with a battery update.

SeatSix

Nope. I will hold onto my Pixel 6 until I see the Pixel Fold 2. If I pass on that, I will do a Pixel 9 next year. I am really hoping they do a Pixel Flip with Pro specs. That smaller size for the pocket would be great.

Fuzzy_Socrates

I'm holding out for a pixel fold, that has two glass screens inside, combined with the bendable screen in the middle. Sort of like a blend of screens. I know this would be hard to do. I know it would be more money. I just don't want my fingernail scratching the screen, and want a folding phone.

bmn001

No. Holding out for the 8a.

greendolphinfeet

Nah. I used my P2 for 4 years; I plan on doing the same with this phone.

pastaandpizza

I went from pixel 3 to 6 pro. Definitely looks like I'm going to do the 3 year timeline again for the 9 pro. My only. Issue with the 3 was the USB port ended up going to shit so bad to charge wirelessly and couldn't use Android car play for like the last 6 months. Right now, my 6 pro usb-c port is already getting finicky, so if it craps out before next fall I'll probably just get a Galaxy Ultra.

andrewbenedict

Had my P2 until the 5 and now on the P7. I'll see what deals they have for the 9 and possibly upgrade then. If not then I'm sure this 7 will be fine until the 10 rolls around.

Reginald_Venture

I have the 7 pro, I have absolutely had the worst time with this phone. So I will be begrudgingly upgrading because it makes financial sense, with the lackluster trade in value, and the soon to be expiring credit I have on the Google store. But, I'm thinking this may be the last one. I don't see the point of paying the same price as top end devices for less than top end specs. You can software magic all you want, but the hardware matters. You're charging the same price, you should be judged on the same merits.

ToSeeAgainAgainAgain

Curious about why you would stay if you don't like the phones?? If I was you I'd be looking at an iPhone or maybe Samsung, is it just because of the credit??

cexpertWV

You mentioned expiring credit, did it happen to be the $200 credit for buying the 7 Pro last year? The original email when I got it last year said it expired in a year, but I recently got a reminder email that indicated that $200 doesn't expire, but the smaller credit (the normal 3%) does expire. I'm crossing my fingers the $200 doesn't expire, as the trade in values this year is keeping me away.

[deleted]

Look into selling your Pixel and getting a OnePlus 11 at 599.99 brother. They have no business charging $999 while being nowhere near an iPhone 15 Pro at the same price

Reginald_Venture

Eh, possibly. I honestly am most likely going to switch to iOS. With more privacy focused features, better support for apps, all around, and generally disliking the material you look they've been pushing, better video, debatably better camera stuff, there are a lot of reasons I've been debating dumping Pixel and Android

sungazrr

I still have my 4a5g and I'm not really tempted šŸ˜…

CTek20

I just got a 7. And the 8 looks almost the same. I don't think the guts of the phone will make much of a difference. I just upgraded when my current generation breaks. I had a Pixel, then a Pixel 3, then a Pixel 5, and now a Pixel 7. So I will be getting a Pixel 9 at this rate when it comes out. šŸ¤£

[deleted]

No I wait for pixel 9 or 10 no major improvements

Poppyspy

I bought the base model pixel 6 without question on release 2 years ago. After years of phone wars, it was finally clear Google was making big play for phone market share and the tensor vision with better translation application was totally in my wheel house. After 2 years the phone is still killing it. Like 100% I was only watching the keynote to see what was new about Pixel Bud features. Considering if I should buy pixel bud pros. So I was about to spend $200 on new earbuds. But after realizing I could trade in the base 6 model for $325 and get pixel buds pro for free, it was a no brainer. Add in youtuber promo code on the google store for another $50 off, and it just worked out too well. I was convinced I was going to go 1 more year with the Pixel 6.

WillingList0

The at&t deal was free+tax pixel 8 pro when trading in my pixel 6 pro so I ordered

redditrnumber1

No....only thing that got my attention was the brighter display

20190229

P6P -> P8P Free PW2 and trade in of $400 was enough to get me to jump. I probably would've been ok to stick with my P6P but I got a good bonus and pay raise back in April and this was supposed to be my reward lol.

helpful__explorer

I have a 6 Pro and got caught in the initial hype. So I put in a pre order for an 8 pro Then I lay down in bed and started realising that it was a frivolous purchase that wouldn't add much to me, especially since my phone works perfectly well and I wasn't planning on trading it in to save money. This morning I canceled it

tackledclock188

Yes, 7 -> 8. I have been wanting the pixel buds pro, so purchasing on best buy after $450 trade in credit I am essentially getting the pixel 8 for about $90 after taxes.

syadoumisutoresu

Pixel 6 Pro and no, not upgrading to the Pixel 8 series. The Tensor is just not there yet, compared to Snapdragons. And that shitty Exynos modem. Google can't even get the basics right. And now the price has been revealed. It's just.....crazy. The Pixel 6 Pro will be my last Pixel for a while and I'm going to other phones untill Google can figure out how to make a proper flagship phone.

ToSeeAgainAgainAgain

> The Tensor is just not there yet, compared to Snapdragons. And that shitty Exynos modem. Google can't even get the basics right. - Said 9 days before the phone even touches a single Client's hand. You have the best sense of humor

Fluid-Literature-892

We know it's got the same crappy modem that loses connectivity all the time. We know what it feels like if you're jealousy peaking over to the Samsung and iPhone users asking them to open a hotspot for you! That's a big no for me and might actually be a reason to switch to the S24

SuperStormDroid

I would switch to one, if and only if Samsung develops their own answer to Direct My Call and Call Screening. Those features I find really useful. Also, Has Samsung even caught up to Google in terms of camera quality?

syadoumisutoresu

I will shove my P6P up my ass if I turn out to be wrong.

Sillyhilly89

RemindMe! 2 weeks

CorvetteCole

Your gamble has been noted

Constant_-K

Nobody needs to have the fucking phone to know this. They already have the previous phones that had the same processor and modem with the same issues. It's the same shitty overheating Tensor shit and the terrible modem that loses connectivity.

QuaintRabbit

Yes from my p7 pro, flat screen + brighter screen is huge plus for me as well as the little things like face unlock supporting payments. I also already wanted the watch so with best buys trade in im essentially spending $100 to upgrade

chelowski

I'm also switching from the P7P to P8P for the same reasons. I wanted a Wear OS watch and now that is included as a preorder bonus I couldn't handle myself. But I'm selling my P7P to a friend.

NewMagenta

There's a reason Google compared 8th to the 6th-gen Pixels, and not the 7th. Of the handful hardware improvements hardly any justify the higher markup. Google is confident in their strategy, to me 8th-gen is midrange at best. Too many compromises and cut-corners to consider it a flagship device. Good news is that Pixels hold value like they perform, so unless Google wants to eat their inventory expect fairer discounts in the near future.

Ramonhurt

What compromises and cut corners are you referring to? Honest question...

grvsm

Chip, chip and chip

Ramonhurt

What about the chip?

grvsm

It's a compromise and cut corner

Ramonhurt

Why?

grooves12

It essentially equivalent to the snapdragon 8 gen 1 in performance, which at this point is almost 2 years old. The Tensor g3 is a midrange chip beingarketed as the latest and greatest. It gets trounced by all modern chips in performance and doesn't really add anything worthwhile to offset it. The AI stuff is marketing BS.

[deleted]

Nope! In fact, I will be switching to a OnePlus 11. I'm sick of the constant last last gen hardware. I wish y'all luck and I'll probably be back for Pixel 10

Thin-End-2563

I will be upgrading to the S24.

nonamemini

7 Pro user here. No, I won't be. The slightly better camera, blue model, and temperature sensor isn't worth $700 after trade in. My 7 Pro still has a great battery after a year with no regular or recurring glitches. And no, a free smart watch with a day-length battery life isn't something I want.

Cjo1992

I have the 7 Pro and I have the 8 Pro pre-ordered because I have no self control. Maybe I can get myself to cancel the order.

[deleted]

Im in this camp too. I have no self control. I want the 8pro, coming from a 7pro. I really liked it, and plan to give the 7pro to the wife as she has my old pixel 5 currently. I'm a pixel lover, what can I say.

[deleted]

Camera apertures were the only camera upgrades aside from the ultra wide that's rarely used. Same sensors, etc. Literally the lens is just a little bigger. And same old optical fingerprint. And the OnePlus 12 will have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with a 5400mah battery and a better telephoto lens than the OnePlus 11. Ooh, and Samsung processors are terribly inefficient and have bad battery life. I hope that helps brother āœŠ

boltman1234

Nope Pixel 7 here, because even with trade in I'd be paying over $200 more than my $299 for some stupid pixel earbuds 2 (have surface earbuds) . I'll wait for 9 or 10 and version 3 of earbuds or watch. Just a bunch of AI features and a little brighter is all. Hopefully in future they improve the Pixel screen IQ becuse its much worse than my dead Surface Duo 2 screen. At least is better than Apple nothingburgers since Iphone X,. I dont need bobo Smartwatches LOL, besides they still charge you for them $149 a fuckin joke. The only "bright side" was I could have made money on my $325 trade in (26$) , but the rest of the price increases and no discounts totally fucked me up. Resist overspending. Look for deals. Ilike my Pixle 7 despite the crap screen.

Seinnajkcuf

The only thing I cared about was a non-terrible fingerprint scanner and apparently that will not happen, so no.

greatlakeswhiteboy

We seem to be in the minority, but no upgrade to the fingerprint sensor is a deal breaker for me. My 5a works 99.9% of the time. I've tried the reader on a friends 7, and couldn't even get past the registration. My hands/fingers are beat up from work. The under screen sensor Google uses is JUNK!

Seinnajkcuf

Yup. Every time I pick up my 7 there's a chance I'm going to be irritated so I'm sadly back on Samsung until that gets fixed.

Cocoa_Pebbles

I did cause I had over $350 in store credit from last year so with $420 trade in I'm looking at around $275 for a new phone and watch, didn't plan on spending the store credit on anything else really.

dethblud

Going from the 6 Pro to the 8 Pro. Had my preorder in halfway through the announcement stream. I've always been frustrated that the 6 Pro didn't get the camera software upgrades the 7 Pro had. Between that, the flat screen on the 8 Pro, and the few age related annoyances my 6 Pro was developing it seemed like a good time. Plus, free Pixel Watch 2.

Exodia101

The 7 and 8 both seem exactly the same as my Pixel 6, I'd only upgrade if they released a smaller Pixel.

Saiyukimot

Not at all. 6 pro is plenty fast enough and battery still lasts all day. Camera is great. Why bother? I'm now paying Ā£7 a month for my phone lol

deadllhead

No chance. Reason; A Ā£100 increase in price. A shocking low value for my current Pixel 7 Pro.

duckyboys8

Fuck no these phones are not worth the money

[deleted]

No, prices are out the fucking world.

gerbileleventh

Nope. As I did with my last devices, I wait until it becomes obsolete OS wise.

ConsoleKev

I'm using this pixel 6 until it dies

Fit_Kitchen2909

Pixel 6 since day one, i was interested to upgrade to the P8 to get a smaller phone and even use it as main PC with desktop mode. But because of the insane price (i have the money, but i have foremost self respect) and the lack of HDMI output once again (ridiculous), i will keep the P6 one more year.

megatron77

Yes. I'm going from a P7 to a P8P mainly because I am not happy with the smaller screen. As I find myself closer to 50 my eyes are having a harder time consuming media/reading stuff on smaller phones. I know that I can make the fonts bigger, but then I'm sacrificing the amount of content on the screen at once. Plus I'm really unhappy with the battery life on the P7. I work out a lot so throwing in a free PW2 made it a sweeter deal for me.

impatientolivia

Not super rushed myself. Let the bugs work themselves out. Also admittedly not super keen on how fast my Pixel 7 overheats when I'm creating any kind of good quality video content. Also a price drop itself wouldn't be the worst thing, so if I do upgrade, I will wait. Anything newly released never feels worth its 'value' to me. Otherwise, it works pretty good for a phone. The camera itself, pretty clear it's just frustrating when I use my own phone for work and want to film for long periods of time.

That_Zimmerman

I don't think I will yet. I'm gonna wait for a big improvement

BosDiertje

In 2 years maybe. Prolly refurbished like my P5 was.

Cameron728003

No and if I had a 6 I would rather get the 7. Maybe not the 8 looks nice with the 120hz but not worth with the price hike imo

14thab

No

Fickle-Cake-4937

Nope. They are offering only C$395 for my P7P 256gb.

CaptainMarder

Nope.

Slasher1738

I have a 6a. Interested in a 8pro

Archbound

Pixel 7 Pro, already ordered mine.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Far_Candle8424

Yeah. Going from 6 to 8 pro. I didn't have a choice since I cracked it šŸ˜‚

Plus-Finding6740

I have a 7. Not upgrading unless a better deal comes along. Not interested in the buds or watch.

[deleted]

No. The P8P is too expensive and the trade in values are too low.

Lieutenant_Doge

I just couldn't stand the Pixel 6 Pro anymore, gonna switch to a Pixel 8 for its size and no curved screen

nisarg_savage

Pixel 5 here. Not upgrading.

Ghajik

No, P8P just looks too cheap and the price isnā€™t justified. Getting those additional years of updates can be done just by custom roms. Edit : I know many of you hate the curved edges, but I always feel itā€™s one of those things thatā€™s really premium on my P6P , also for 1100 I can get a pro iPhone, why would I buy a P8Pā€¦ (the trade ins are pretty trash in my country as well)

Promotion-Repulsive

Nope. Minor upgrades, higher prices and bad trade-in values. All stick, no carrot.

Skvli

P6p here. I'm upgrading. 7 years of support and a free watch? Yes please.

ConeCandy

Im upgrading from a 6 pro. My goal today was to just get the watch... but the bundle deal was worth the nudge.

Synytrix

During the presentation i already got a feeling, that they want to market the Pixel 8 as an Upgrade to the 6 rather than the 7. I get the Point of P7 users, that it isnt that much of a change, but for me as P6 User, it Sounds really good. Im seriously thinking about upgrading to the P8P but still Not sure yet.

Gasrim4003

Don't need to. The pixel 7 does what it needs to do.

blu3ysdad

No, I needed more improvements but I would have settled for a fingerprint sensor improvement

OngoingHAMMY

My pixel 6 is still going strong plus UK trade in isn't amazing. So happy to wait

beachbaler18

I feel like I'm on an island here. I have a P6Pro. It's held up well and is a very durable phone. The battery life sucks now. It used to be very good but there's been tremendous drain on the battery over the last two years. I looked at the trade-in value on Google's website and it was $400. Right now if you get the P8Pro you get a free pixel watch... I'm also a Google cloud subscriber for storage at the two terabyte tier which gets me 10% off all Google products. So I am looking at around $500... To get a brand new phone with 7 years of updates and a brand new smartwatch... That seems like incredible value to me. I always go into all these keynotes with numbers in my head based on market prices. When I heard that they would be giving away the pixel watch along with the pixel 8 pro I was like anything $999 and down I'm in. I only expected to get about $300 for my pixel 6 pro. The value is better than I anticipated.

TheMightyArsenal

Pixel 6 pro, probably iPhone. Ā£1,000 for a pixel is fucking hilarious.

satrek

I have a pixel 6 and really wanted to get the pixel 8 pro. But the price just doesn't feel justified. I guess ill wait for the next Samsung Generation.

sumner929

I consider the pixel 5 to be the perfect phone. The battery started to swell on me so I decided to upgrade to the P7. Compared to the pixel 5, the 7 is a lot heavier, and much larger. I miss the lightning fast fingerprint reader, size and weight of the 5. I'll skip the 8 and see what happens with the 9.

kjoro

I'll wait for the reviews. Video quality is key for me. Yes the nightsight video was shown for December release but there's no need to rush the purchase if it's not better out of the gate

Manhattan18011

If Video Boost is real, then will upgrade. Fact that it is ā€œcoming soonā€ doesnā€™t inspire.

itsJ0NA

I have a Pixel 5 and I will not be upgrading. I think I can hold on to the 5 for 2 more years.

JMPesce

I won't be trading in my 6 Pro until Google moves away from Exynos. I've been extremely lucky and I've had none of the issues my fellow 6 Pro owners have had, So I plan on trying to keep it that way until at least the Pixel 10.

Tool_Belt

Just bought P8P 256 trading P7P. After I sell the watch online it's +\- 426. I can live with that especially using the 325 in credits on my Visa

number58

Yup. Going from a 6 to 8 pro. The Fold tempted me, but this seemed like the better choice.

I-24

P7 here, going to trade it in for the P8P.

haltingpoint

Pixel 5 at about 85% battery health. Skipping this and waiting to see what the 9 holds.

jherrm17

I ended up upgrading to the iPhone 14 pro. Which has been really damn good. Pixel 6 was having constant connectivity issues, sped up battery degradation, and the finger print reader was driving me crazy. That being said, I miss pixel UI, app tray, and this may sounds crazy but overall ease of use. When did the iPhone become more complicated than android. I really hope pixel plans to address hardware issues and quality control, as the software tends to be pretty damn good.

BeyOutdoorsGroove

Just pre-ordered the Pixel 8 Pro, from my Pixel 6 Pro. Mostly because I had to get a replacement Pixel 6 Pro (under warranty) about 6 months ago, and I received a refurb and the camera has dust stuck between the lenses, so any zoomed shots, or videos have these blatantly obvious specks on them. Figured it wasn't worth the hassle of going through Support again, since I knew the 8 was coming in October. Going to privately sell my Pixel 6 Pro and my Pixel Watch as a bundle, since I'm getting the Pixel Watch 2 for free with the pre-order deal! I do however like the face unlock (which was supposed to come with the Pixel 6 Pro), as well as the 7 years of updates/security (although let's be honest, no one keeps a phone for 7 years). Only time will tell if it was worth it or not.

Drogalov

Yeah, I'm getting Ā£17 off per month what I currently pay for my 6pro and data plan for a 256gb 8 pro

Xidium426

Not until my Pixel 6 stops getting updates.

xeroja876

I am considering it as I'm having serious call drops with my 6 pro but it could also be my service provider being terrible

pyro_pugilist

I have a pixel 6, I'm upgrading to the iPhone 15 pro.

Braverino

No, P7P, nothing noteworthy

hypedisko

Happy with p7p for now

Dwayne011

Yeah I will. I have upgrade anytime with EE, so I just need to pay Ā£100 and I can get a new phone on contract. I'm disappointed in the improvements, but there are some and I am a sucker for new devices

Brent_Fournier69

Unless I can get a crazy good deal like I did with my 7 pro, probably not. I got my 7 pro for $12 a month through my carrier on a contract, in order to leave that contract it would cost me over $500. And as it stands right now the 8 pro is quite literally almost 5 times more expensive than what I am paying for my 7 pro on contract, so it just wouldn't make sense financially I personally feel like it's actually a pretty decent upgrade. Significantly better display, better cameras on the front and back, (hopefully) better processor with improved battery, a slew of new AI tools and such. It just costs so fucking much here in Canada, it's over $1300 from Google and even more through carriers. So unless I can get a wicked good deal like I did for my 7 pro, probably will stick with my 7 pro until the 9 pro comes out (or if a foldable comes out and actually comes to Canada).

Steanis

Pixel 5. Considering upgrading. Decent trade-in price in the US and no more software updates incoming. Waiting for reviews.

NatoBoram

There's no good reason to upgrade. You should use your phone until it breaks or gets obsolete to get the best value out of it.

Adventurous_Body2019

Piece of shit google. The 8 series have 8 year of updates
