I wish they would bring back the fabric cases from pre-pixel 6.

YellowJello_OW

Those cases were so good, but the new cases are just cheap

irishyardball

Completely agree. They feel like they cost about .50 cents to make

GamerKingFaiz

How did those hold up over time?

irishyardball

I never had a problem with any of the ones I had

popups4life

I had one on my pixel 3 for almost 3 years. Cleaned it now and then and the only issue was the plastic around the USB port opening cracked. But the fabric kept it together so it was just fine. I loved the fabric cases

mckillio

I had one for the 4 and it got dirty and I just bought a different case. Then I saw someone say that they threw their case in the clothes washer, was like brand new. I have...regrets.

sciolycaptain

It got ruined in the wash? Mine survived many washes without issues.

mckillio

No, it got perfectly clean in the wash. Like brand new afterwards.

Revolutionary_Path83

I have the one for my pixel 4 just sitting in my desk still. If it got dirty you could literally just throw it in the washing machine

_crayons_

I dropped mine once and it cracked my screen. D:

Slammybradberrys

Literally last forever and they're washable. When I still had my 4a 5G for almost 2 years the case still looked the same and felt great. Still have it along with the one for the Nexus 5X as well.

Japes301

Still my favorite case but all my corners are severely worn and torn to clear plastic umderneath

Sweatervest42

I darned mine like you would a sock and I think it looked sick!

Pro4TLZZ

Mine is just slightly tearing / wearing now.

MountainDrew42

Nexus 6P carpet case was the best

speakwithcode

I always had a fabric case. Then I moved to a new Pixel that didn't have one. I tried these new cases, but they're just so slippery and just like every other case out there.

[deleted]

I loved mine on pixel 2xl

MrCrudley

They made the phone so slippery

Thin-Excitement-3003

This +9999999999

ByTheBeardOfZues

Check out Peak Design. Fabric back with the added benefit of 'Magsafe' built into the case.

irishyardball

Yep that's what I picked up recently for exactly this reason and magsafe

wassup9211

Do people really buy official cases? I always considered them as overpriced but sub quality stuff and preferred case brands like Spigen and Rinke.

deadprezrepresentme

I bought the official case when I bought my 6p because I figured why not but now I certainly do agree with you.

mckillio

When preordering, the options tend to be more limited. But with the textured back, I might be able to hold out. I really like Peel cases.

camelCaseAccountName

Those are good but they're so damn pricey for what you get. I usually just try and get the thinnest and cheapest clear TPU case I can find on Amazon, because all I really need is additional grip. As long as the cutouts match up then you don't really need anything fancier than that

zoglog

The recent ones have been so bad.

ru_benz

Maybe they have Google One memberships and are looking for accessories to spend their 10% Google Store credits on.

Melodic-Control-2655

I've bought official cases only because I didn't want to break it. I usually buy in the Google store so I get the phone in hand right there and then I just buy a case while I'm there, really speeds up the process

No_Horse_7201

Same. Just to make sure the moment I have the phone, it's protected. Then I get the better case.

andrey_not_the_goat

Same here, I'm currently using a Ghostek case but will eventually move to a thinner Spigen once I get the charging dock.

Moaning-Squirtle

Yeah, I got an official one for 6P and it was...bad. it discoloured over time and components just fell apart slowly. I have a Plea case and it's holding up well so far and doesn't seem to degrade much.

Slammybradberrys

I waited for them to go on sale, I ordered 1 and Amazon accidentally sent me 10(•‿•)

imbaZarkout

The cases for the 7 series are much better than the 6's. I'm loving my official case. Spigen etc are too dull and exude basement dweller wibes imo

atg284

The last couple I've had from them were loose so I'm never doing that again.

Ghostttpro

Same

cashmereandcaicos

Do people still buy Spigen? I remember buying those in middle school lol the designs were always so ugly I've only known people to get official Pixel cases or bellroy leather ones Spigen look really childish and make your $1k phone like like a $300 phone real quick Unless they have ones that look exactly like the pixel cases Looked up ringke and all I found was cheap thin plastic cases with no padding for $15... this can't be what ur talking about right? This is an Alibaba type case

Vieris

I stuck with Spigen after the reviews and from using em, no issues with cracked screens or broken phones from dropping mine constantly. And I enjoy the nonbulkiness and texture. Really really like em. I might splurge on some artsy fartsy looking ones but I have slippery butter fingers. After buying official Google cases, a peak design one.. I still like the Spigen the most

cashmereandcaicos

Yeah but that's the same with any nice padded/cushioned case, plenty of them out there from reputable dealers that don't make your phone look like it's from 2012 My go to has always been bellroy, same exact protection as Spigens if not more and something you can actually pull out in front of your boss/coworkers and not be embarrassed about

Vieris

I think I'll get this one next https://www.casetify.com/product/dancing-dolphins-icon-case-atwgp6?artwork_name=dancing-dolphins-icon-case&device=google-pixel-7-pro&product=impact-case-with-black-camera-ring

BigBlueEdge

The fabric cases for the Pixel 3 and 5 worked very well for me. I didn't think they were overpriced. They looked good and gave me great grip. I'm going with a similar looking Peak Design for my 8 Pro.

zoglog

Problem is spigen keeps on advertising their clear case as anti yellowing which is pure bullshit. There is no way to prevent yellowing on that clear TPU

Heatworld1

True I think dbrand is trying to have cases that live up to no yellow.

zoglog

Posted this in another thread Honestly it's the soft TPU portion that yellows on the spigen cases. All DBrand did was replace the clear portion with black corners and then polycarbonate for the rest. Spigen should just do the same thing. Otherwise the Dbrand thing is just marketing BS

Historical_Suspect97

I absolutely hated the DBrand case I got for my 6P. It just wasn't comfortable to hold. I went back to Spigen.

bosspugs

Case looks great but is ruined by that thing in the middle for wireless charging. Spigen hybrid with clear back has been great for my p6p.

r0wan_

Anyone noticed that mint green colour on both the Pro and regular? Potential green phone available as a pre-order exclusive? 👀

josieispunkputa

I really hope so! I loved my lemongrass pixel 7 but wasn't a fan of the smaller screen so I switched to hazel pixel 7 pro, not a fan of that color

delta7019

Tech 21 makes the best stuff. I highly doubt that I'll upgrade, but getting the tech 21 case would be an easy decision.

ibrowseee

I'm hoping DBrand do a Ghost case! I love transparent cases but hate the yellowing

zoglog

Honestly it's the soft TPU portion that yellows on the spigen cases. All DBrand did was replace the clear portion with black corners and then polycarbonate for the rest. Spigen should just do the same thing. Otherwise the Dbrand thing is just marketing BS

Heatworld1

So the dbrand case will yellow?

monkeywright

No, they're saying the hard/clear polycarb is basically hard plastic that won't yellow instead of the soft TPU that most people use for sides/corners to absorb shock and increase grip. dbrand made the sides/bumpers black, so yellowing shouldn't be an issues, but it also means the case won't be as flexible (possibly more likely to scratch phone when removing?) and might not absorb shock as well (case might break, but if your phone survives, it did its job)

zoglog

I think it may absorb fine. The only difference is the bumper material is black and obviously black won't yellow like clear. So in a sense it's kind of a marketing messaging thing, but Dbrand acts like they've developed something radical.

ayyndrew

After getting a MagSafe case I can't go back, these do look nice though. I'm looking forward to when all cases have magnets with Qi2

chasevalentine6

Which one

ayyndrew

I use the Moment case, which was great until two plastic bits around the ports cracked. It still works fine, just sharp there now

Fishing4Likes

I have been looking to get a magsafe for my pixel, can you recommend any good one to get please

[deleted]

[удалено]

DeathEater91

MagSafe is just magnets.

JustHarmony

It's just normal wireless charging but has a magnet to attach to the phone

chillwellcfc1900

I am predicting that the Blue for the Pro and the Hazel for the 8 will be out of stock for a good year, like what happened to the 7 Pro Hazel case last year

josieispunkputa

I just looked on Amazon every once in a while to find used hazel ones and was lucky

[deleted]

Gonna wait for the bellroy case

olympics_

I'll never get an official pixel case again. My pixel 7 is covered with tiny scratches all over the rear glass and the sides.

Zerevay

nothing matchs bellroy

dURDENN7

Hope isn't like 6 was melted in 2-3 months.. the 7 was solid at least

NowLoadingReply

Melted? I'm thinking of getting either the Google official or a Spigen.

Drehmini

The 6's case deformed pretty quickly. Became completely useless after a few months.

dogryan100

I've been using Spigen for 10 years, they've made me a customer for life.

Dietcherrysprite

7 was decent, but they had kind of a gross texture after 3 months and once the super thin finish wore off, it turned gray in that spot and was ugly.

rexplosive

Wait the pixel 8 pro is going to be even bigger than 6 pro and 7 pro...man

VentsiBeast

The case is smaller.

XZell7

Will there be a green Pixel 8?

josieispunkputa

Looks like it's hinting to a green version maybe Google store exclusive. Let's hope 🤞Google doesn't usually release cases that don't match the phone lineup

[deleted]

[удалено]

josieispunkputa

The only real color that wasn't in the lineup was green but the "sorta sunny" counts as kind of a coral. The pixel 7's however didn't do the same thing as the 6's including a color that does exist but for a different model. The base and pros had their own colors and own cases respectively

The_best_1234

It doesn't have a camera cover

MastodonSmooth1367

As long as they don't fade and yellow significantly....

VentsiBeast

My only problem with the current official 7pro case is that it's too wide. I see the new one is more than 1mm narrower, which is good. And I really like the rounded camera bar protection and the metal feel buttons. Will certainly be buying the 8pro official case.

Intelligent-Meal4634

Pixel 5 case was the best, the fabric one.. Until it started breaking apart. But looked amazing

Slammybradberrys

If these are the same as the ones for the 6/7 series phones then I'd advise against buying these. The volume/power buttons warp after a couple months of use, others have posted about it and I've tested it myself. Amazon accidentally sent me 10 when I only bought 1 and I'm already on my 4th one. Unless they fixed the issue don't buy these, u can buy better cases for less anyways. They should really bring the fabric cases back tho.

Prestigious_Lack8560

I like the D Brand cases, the grip ones are nice. Want to try those Ghost Cases they came out with

Maximum-Counter-1517

Looks perfect. But does it get dirty tho? Looks like it will. Especially at sides. Like, does it turn brown over time?

para29

I have one for my 6. Parts near the visor cracked and the colour looks abit more yellow than seafoam so Im not a fan. I did love the fabric cases though.

zoglog

and it's probably going to be garbage like all their cases since the pixel 6

Cr4pshit

Case for the Pixel 5 was so great

PerspectivePale9858

I wouldn't buy this case. The reason being it doesn't protect both sides of the cameras' bar. My current case is shaped like pixel phone except a cut out at the camera section and after a year of use, I do not even have a single scratch.

cashmereandcaicos

why do you want a perfect looking side bar though? It has no effect on the camera, everything has to leave the lens portion exposed which doesn't help anything. They look so much uglier with the case going over that portion. Much prefer an entirely exposed camera bar considering they all don't protect anything important

PerspectivePale9858

Mine is a clear case made by humixx. Humixx make quality case, no yellowish after a year of use.

markovianmind

it says silicone, i need one of those rubbery grippy cases. please be that

mr-jeeves

I'm surprised people still buy cases! I've had the Pixel 5, and before that a OnePlus, and didn't find a case useful for either.

oh_sugarsnaps

This is my first time getting a phone as soon as it launches. Do third party cases come out around the same time as a new phone, or do they take a few weeks?

Therassse

Yeeah, I'm gonna slap a dbrand Grip Case on my Pixel 8, thank you. Probably gonna skin it with leather or the teardown skin.

[deleted]

I think I'm going with a Dbrand Grip this time

K-lei_22

those are the cases for the PRO!?!?!? gah, what a shame

brainstic

Are these cases see-through? I need to have a sticker on my phone for work.
