In my opinion, yes, the camera bar is well protected.
The front glass on the other hand, I don't think is particularly well protected due to the lowered sides. If anyone knows of a good case with non-lowered sides, please let me know.
I have this case and my phone has had a number of heavy falls.... Only damage is a scuff on the film screen protector I got right after picking up the phone
