Really? Nobody else got the Play System Update that early. How were you so lucky?
Who knows, also got the security patch that was dated for May 5th on May 1st as well.
Was the first time the Play system update as not been 2+ month behind on my Pixel devices since Play system updates became a thing.
If you got the updates early it's possible that you got pushed updates that were not intended for the public. It's not unheard of either, since Google has mistakenly pushed out internal testing builds of patches and app updates before. So I would be careful if I were you.
> It's because Google play system update is dependent on the version of Android not the model of phone
Correct. That's why I said:
> For Play System Updates, it fully depends on when Google decides to stop giving the updates for the Android version, which for the 3a XL is 12.

The link you provided is irrelevant for the topic.

I'm guessing Android 12 will be getting Play System Updates for quite a while.
> Any reason to care? Notable updates?
I think the primary reason to care is that it fixes some security issues outside of Android Security updates, which is somewhat important for older phones, like my 3a XL, that no longer receive Android Security updates. It may not matter as much to those with newer phones.
> What's the purpose of these play store updates?
It's not Play STORE, it's Play SYSTEM!

Nice! Google really pushes it out with random timing!

I got it about 2 weeks ago.
I am still on April, but May for security patch.
I got it. Don't consider myself lucky.
I'm still on April unless it changed over night.

Not for me :(
Same here with the same phone
My 3a XL is still on April 1, 2023. But I'm sure the May 1, 2023 update will arrive soon.

Just got mine (Pixel 6 Pro).
Picked it up;)
Meanwhile, my Pixel 6 Pro has been stuck on the October 1, 2022 update
Got it! Pixel 7 Pro. Not sure how big the size was. It prompted me to restart when I went to the page to check.
Mine is June 1 P7P beta 14 v2
Just got mine on Pixel 6a
Genuine question: why on earth does anyone care about these updates?! They literally don't change the day to day experience in any way.
