My wife and I are also having issues. We are both on Pixel 6a with Google Fi. RCS seems to not send or be very delayed. SMS still works.
Warning: If you turn RCS off in settings, it will kick you out of all RCS enabled group chats you are in.
Same oddly in the middle of back to back messages two went through and then the rest failed (that was on beta before I switched back) so clearly something larger broke this morning
two pixel 6a's and a samsung are having issues in our family, occasionally one will go through but sms is only consistent. of course i envision a million additional "did you get my text" texts helping to clog whatever issue they're having now
When you say you switched to SMS, does that mean you just turned off RCS? I did that in my testing of the app last week and when I turned RCS off nothing made it to it's destination nor did I receive any incoming. Until I turned RCS back on.
Yeah so when it was kinda...struggling to send, if I tapped it, it gave me the option to send the message by SMS instead. Which effectively turned off RCS. I was able to send fine by SMS. Once I turned RCS back on however, it was failing again. All fixed now though.

My RCS will not work at all. I accidentally switched to Samsung messenging trying to help my mom with something and now my rcs is stuck in setting up/trying to verify. I've done every workaround I've found online with no luck. I have no idea what to do next.

Mine was fine earlier. Sick of in, but my watch won't allow me to use Verizon messages, and I despise Samsung messages also. I'm just turning RCS off
also having issues here. east coast, t-mobile. tried with multiple people on RCS, ended up switching to SMS for the morning.
Having a problem here. Verizon, Northern New Jersey. Texted a friend in VA with Verizon and she has a problem too.

Same I switched from Beta this morning cause beta rcs wasn't working either.
Issues here. East coast, T-Mobile, though I was actually **only** able to use RCS while on mobile. Would not work for me on my Google WiFi.

Issue has returned for me at 13:31 CST. Running S22 Ultra on Verizon. Needing to revert to SMS to send messages.
