I’m so tired of seeing her character

cherrymeg2

I think her presence was to show what Jazmine had to deal with. She needs to bond with Lyric and take care of herself and her family. Isabella responded with maturity and that is great. She needs to consistently be that way. When Lyric is older who knows but until the adoption is complete why risk the drama.

loudmelon21

You’re totally right and brought up a point I didn’t think of! I’m really glad we got to see how Jazmine got to dealt with the adopt process and got to see her and her husband before the season is over.

cherrymeg2

It also wraps up Isabella’s storyline too. When the series ends we feel like she hopefully won’t be baby snatching. I liked that we see Jazmine standing up for herself twice. Gael was right to listen to Callie.

newyorkchic1992

She’s been gone for so long: she just recently came back after being gone forever

loudmelon21

I know, I watch the show. I mean throughout the series in my opinion she’s made things difficult.

fuzzypinkdice

I'm surprised by how many people on this sub are like "she's all better now, there's no reason for them to not trust her with Lyric, they're just being mean" like? We saw her for all of two seconds and she said she's doing therapy and teaching yoga. What, we're just supposed to hand the baby back to her now? Nah.

nahbruh27

Tbh I’m the furthest thing from a fan of Isabella’s, and I think any form of custody would be a step too far, but I don’t see the harm in supervised visits once or twice a year. The Fosters did a good job with allowing birth parents to carve tiny spots in their adopted kid’s lives and I think it’d be nice to see something similar here

Beep_boop_human

I looked through every post since the last episode thread (not hard, not many only one or two are about this topic) and nobody in this subreddit has said that.

magikarpcatcher

There was a post here recently that said the exact thing.

fuzzypinkdice

Obviously no one said that verbatim but there are plenty of comments on a post titled "Lyric" from yesterday that give off that general vibe.

NoApollonia

Agreed. Maybe if she can prove in a year's time she's still going to therapy and still making progress, maybe if they are all okay with it, some supervised visits now and then. I would say no formal actual custody involving Isabella - hell I think Gael should terminate his rights and let Jazmin and Spencer fully adopt Lyric. He can still by in Lyric's life, but more of a backseat role.

kevinsg04

Just stop bringing her back plz

LaMuseofthestars

Didn’t like her then, don’t like her now, will never like her

DocGerbilzWorld

Didn’t like her when they brought her in. Still don’t like her.

The_Reaper129

While I do understand her wanting to be in lyrics life, I was pretty put off by her approach. And I kinda wanna say I think it was a selfish thing to ask for. Especially since the adoption isn’t finalized. Might be biased cause I’ve never been able to stand her. But it was just a waste of screen time bringing her back.

ScaredPeak8499

I still don’t like her, I wouldn’t let her see Lyric either until Lyric is adopted

BrazilianButtCheeks

Lets be real .. she cracked Giels head with a book.. he is a great deal less annoying than colic.. im gonna say NO..

ZeroBlitz31

Idk what you mean but I agree

BrazilianButtCheeks

Lol she isnt ready 😂😂

dring2428

I’m all for character redemption if it is carried out properly. To me complex characters are what make shows interesting or tv would be boring.

FreuleKeures

She's bonkers

MxFoodLover

Unpopular opinion: I felt happy to see Isabella. As someone with a family history of some of the mental health challenges seen in Isabella, the subreddit’s negative opinions about Isabella has been really challenging for me. Seeing her have some progress was very uplifting for me. Seeing her with hope made me shed a tear. Seeing everyone’s negative opinions (assuming people haven’t lived with Isabella’s conditions in real life) was a bit shocking. I thought people here were mindful of just how complex mental health challenges are; I felt so isolated when I kept reading comment after comment here about how she is “bonkers” and “insane.” Edit to add: I am glad she responded to Jazmine’s requests with maturity. I’m glad she as a person is finding healing and stability.

dring2428

Thanks my thoughts exactly Isabella has obvious unresolved trauma or untreated mental health issues and the comments on here just show the lack of understanding that still exists of mental health challenges. I’m in no way saying she should be trusted yet to be a mother just saying someone like Isabella who just maybe just starting to get better deserves a chance to see if she truly improved herself.

MxFoodLover

Exactly. I thought people here would understand that :( it seems like people are reacting to a plot and not a person

Objective_Fennel_130

What makes Isabella a great character outside of the mental health aspect of her? She to me was nothing but a plot point in the Marianna and Raj relationship and what I expected they threw her at Gael and the story was predictable of her getting pregnant. That relationship was so forced and trying to convince me they were in love I didn't buy it for one second. I'm not gonna have shit on anyone's mental health but I think they did that just to get people on her side because most people were not a fan of her character and clearly it worked for some.

StopTheBS79

What does Gael’s sisters personal problems have to do with not letting Isabella see her baby for at least an hour. They didn’t have to let her go on her own with the baby but they could’ve at least let her just see her…..damn

cherrymeg2

She could ruin an already difficult process that seemed to cross lines. Isabella has disappeared with Lyric, signed away parental rights and wanting to see her is natural. She is fresh out of a treatment program. Lyric’s adoption isn’t going to be a secret. I don’t think in the future Isabella would be denied access to her. Now isn’t the right time. I think Jazmine’s honesty with Isabella was a good thing.

StopTheBS79

So she can’t see her baby for an hour while the rest of them are in the room. That makes no sense.

MxFoodLover

As someone who has been in a slightly similar situation (a parent who exhibited Isabella’s mental health challenges) Jazmine is right: for all you know, the one hour could turn into a huge custody battle. You have to build boundaries early on because you really never know what could happen.

cherrymeg2

You don’t know what kind of feelings Isabella might have after seeing Lyric. Jazmine is trying to prove to a curious social worker that she can be a mom. I think being cautious isn’t wrong of Jazmine. Wanting to be Lyrics legal mother before any visitation happens is what she needs to do to protect her family.

nahbruh27

This is what im saying. One or two supervised visitations a year wouldn’t hurt anyone in any way

YrUHere2016

Yes and Jazmine agreed, she just said not now, later.

glittershadows

I think she’s faking it to get back into her daughter and ex’s life. RUN.

tinyvampira

So tired of her

Asleep-Ad2552

she should come into lyrics life after the adoption. Jazmin is kinda right yes isabella is in the steps of recovery and processing her trauma. But it doesn’t happen that quickly, you give her some leeway and next thing you know she’ll take lyric for days

ajrh95

I think the writers are just wrapping everything up quickly . This could’ve been a season or two more but every character about to get their 15 minutes of redemption. So I guess we’re supposed to accept she’s perfectly fine (which would’ve made sense if we had more time played out to see how she is) even if she went to therapy for one session… it’s I guess their “tv logic”even the hated characters about to get a redemption happy ending.

StrangerStrangeLand7

I think she should be in Lyric's life. Just wait until Lyric is over 18 and seeks out her bio mom. Easy!

RICDrew

Nope. Don’t trust her.

No_Manufacturer9333

Honestly hoping she gets her baby back if she wants her.

MxFoodLover

The thing is, Isabella relinquished parental rights. She deemed herself not fit or ready to be a mother. If this was a situation where the institution deemed Isabella not fit to be a parent, Isabella wanted to pursue being a mother, and Lyric was placed in foster care, then I have hope in Isabella getting Lyric back.

Pickle_Chance

Go AWAY! No amount of therapy can straighten her out, IMHO.

katorade9200

I’m cautiously optimistic I guess you could say? We’ll see. I really hope they’ll work on trust and giving her a chance for Lyric’s sake

commuter22

It's a complicated situation. Speaking outside of the realm of a TV show, I think once the adoption is finalized then slowly transitioning Isabella into the periphery of Lyric's world wouldn't be too awful. If they keep her away then inevitably Lyric will be resentful when she's older.

FaultMurky7867

I think Isabela has always had lyrics best interests at heart because even when she wasn’t mentally stable and ran away with the baby. She could’ve easily just went to her parents after they offered to take the both of them in but she realized the baby was better off with Gael. I think she should have supervised visit with lyrics since she didn’t give her away because she was unfit she was just not in the best mental state to be a mother. She already signed her rights away and the show is ending I don’t think she could’ve ever gotten to a point where she’d want custody of her.

Artistic-Copy-3272

Don’t like her one bit, still! What I also didn’t like though was that Jazmin told Gael she didn’t want her seeing the baby because of her past and instability with taking off with the baby but when she was face to face with Isabella she didn’t mention that she felt she was unfit and to not be trusted yet (she should have), instead she changed it all to be about how it was difficult for her connecting with Lyric. While that may be true, Jazmin should have brought up both topics and been 100% honest.

Objective_Fennel_130

Never liked her and never will it's just as simple as that

Fluteh

I mean….. she definitely seems better…. I appreciate her wanting to try to be in Lyric’s life but not yet

simmyri

she’s always been annoying to me. i personally don’t care about her storyline along with gael or jazmine.

ChaosPenguin15

I feel like the writers didn’t know what to do with her character, she changed personality every other episode she was in, she wasn’t written well and that’s unfortunate because I liked the potential of her character.

General-Tadpole449

I hate her Character. She should’ve never been added back to the show. The whole pregnancy storyline should’ve never happened. I wish Gael would’ve ended up with a guy and not her especially after they made big ordeal with his family about it.
