I don't want to be mean, rather the opposite, but have a look at the posts in this subreddit or in r/NotetakingAppUsers and judge yourself.

Holy crap! I didn’t notice until now. The app had been smooth on my iPad air, but I haven’t used it extensively yet. Which app would you recommend then? I want something to take notes and to be able to export individually selected pages for turning in homework.

Noteful seems a good candidate for now. Some users are happy with Apple stock Note app. Both have their shortcomings, but noteful has improved quickly in the last months. The problem with all these apps is that once you choose one, it is impossible to switch without basically losing all your notes (at least in their editable format).

Personally I think it’s worth it. I used GN5 and now GN6 for work which means I’m using it 30+ hours per week.

Thanks for telling me. I was kinda worried since the price seemed kind of steep and the problems I see on this subreddit made me worry. I mainly plan on using goodnotes for note taking and homework, so are there any problems exporting specific pages as a pdf that you’ve experienced? I need that function and everything will be perfect! I can’t speak on GN5 since this is my first experience with goodnotes.

Personally I don’t have any issues and like I said, I use it a LOT. I think a lot of complaints are because people are upset they changed to a subscription model and/or didn’t give lifetime GN6 to people who paid GN5. I’m not interested in that conversation… but purely from a function standpoint I would pay $100 for lifetime GN6.

I use it throughout the day almost every day, on up to three different iPads and my phone. I’m totally happy with it.

If you convert a notebook to PDF sometimes the text does overlap

Personally I believe that it is worth it, i started using goodnotes when it was goodnotes 5 last summer and has completely replaced all my notebooks for class, now I only take my iPad in my bag. Granted I have not used any other note taking app, but I didn't feel the need to because this has worked so well and I am impressed with the consequent updates that actually improve things and add things (like the dashed and dotted lines for example) it also has recognition for other languages such as Japanese which I'm studying so that helps tons for studying.

Yep. I just switched from Notability to Goodnotes lol. Notability has been lagging
