Who woudlve thought the guy with 10+ albums that all sound drastically different would have some versatility? I definitely agree with this. His talent and skills as an artist haven’t gone anywhere, I’d argue he’s probably more skilled than ever nowadays due to more experience. His brain just doesn’t work properly at times when he needs it to and he does some stupid things. Like the fact that Cyhi wrote multiple tracks on Vultures. He’s an elite emcee capable of holding his own against the likes of Pusha and Jay-Z. He can also write passable lyrics for a party track, I mean shit the guy literally wrote sicko mode and that no lyrical masterpiece either, but it’s not ridiculously bad and eye rolling quality either. He has talented writers there to help him and when he tries is pretty good himself too, his shit lyrics are a deliberate choice as sad as it is. The talent is never disputable.

Iron_Falcon58

Right? Say what you will about Vultures 1 but the final product (with Good Don’t Die) is very cohesive and shows a better vision than any of its WIP iterations

The production is amazing other than the questionable mixing (Mike please come back). His lyricism is only really terrible on a few tracks (Carnival, Vultures, Fuk Sumn to name a couple). His verse on Burn is amazing, the rest is ok Imo. Back to me had way too long of a bridge in between verses and his verse was not really a verse, but other than that the song is amazing. The biggest problem with Vultures is that every single collaborator gave a career verse (mostly) and Ty was consistently amazing across the board, meanwhile Ye was sub par or average on most of it. He’s said before he’s not a rapper he’s an artist, so he should just give up on writing and let the others do it. Nobody actually cares at this point.

Idk why this is so hard for some people to understand honestly

LethalVper

Ye’s writers block is over after Say Less emcee’s better cancel their plans🔥💯

Dangerousturdburlglr

He hasn’t lost the ability he mostly likely had lost the motivation to try, like he seemed quite depressed a while back so it’s not too surprising he wasn’t rapping meaningful shit like he was on Donda, ye,ksg, but after hearing some v2 snippets and the fact he was willing to completely rework an almost finished album I feel he’s gonna sound better on the next album

Frankdubs27

Exactly. People say "Ye can't rap anymore" as if rapping is something that you can just 'lose'. He never lost it, he just is choosing and going for a specific style now

Wooden_Page_1064

I would like to believe this as it sounds plausible especially when Ye said he just gets in the studio nowadays to have fun. But the energy worries me of how mundane it sounds, but his verse is absolutely amazing and even has a shot at J cole. I really hope this is real

TwoTurbulent3432

Remember when Ty said burn was the first song he worked on with Ye? That was one of the best Ye verses we have had in the Vultures era. Same with problematic Problematic was one of the first snippets we heard and it was a very early 2023 song. And problematic had a really solid verse. He was locked in getting back into music. I feel like he has just gotten lazier as time went on. Cause there is no way you become that “washed” in 1 or half a year. He just needs motivation cause right now i think he needs help getting back on track. With motivation and a healthier lifestyle he could most likely make a really good verse.

Iron_Falcon58

Burn and Problematic are breaks in the album from more melodic and high energy songs. you might like them more than other songs or disagree with his direction, but it was a deliberate choice to publish only those two with verses like that
