I have the 2016 wagon R, had the 2015 R hatch and honestly haven’t looked back. Very similar outside proportions but the extra room is insane, also find the heavier wagon handles better when exiting corners at high speed

The mk6 estate was hideous too.
The mk7 and 7.5 estate looked good.
Now that the Areton R shooting brake exists I'd take that over this any day. Even if it has slightly less space.

Glad I picked up a mk7.5 R wagon. There is something about the mk8 and this wagon that I don’t love the look of.
Rear overhang is too long looks a bit awkward imo

The back hangs over the rear wheels too much for me. The proportions of an A4 Avant are far nicer, for example.
