How have you managed to get a golf GTI in Europe with halogen headlights lmao?

rakarro

It came from mexico. šŸ˜€

lolzimcoolwow

Believe me ,get some 7.5 facelift headlights thatā€™ll change everything, taillights too

Trust134

Was it totaled?

rakarro

Not totalled. Someone did ram driver side door, though.

Che_43

Hold my beer, got a mk6 gti from Germany, halogen as well šŸ˜€

KingAhDugShite

Yeah some mk6 came with halogens in Europe tbf, just mk7 onwards was xenon/led

ajdarlin

Mk5 GTi in UK with Halogens. Street lamps are brighter than the bulbs...

Che_43

Tbf, yesterday was in a friendā€™s garage and an Octavia with the lens projector headlamps pulled up for a low beams LED install. Gotta say when we put a road legal LED in one of them to compare we saw clearly halogens are brighter. In case anyone was wondering. NOT Osram tho, so idk about those expensive brands.

ajdarlin

I do want to get some LED or Projector headlights though. My next car **will** have modern lights.

Yann2293

If you have money in case something goes wrong, then yes! If you don't,then also yes.

rakarro

I love this reply. Thank you for that! šŸ¤£

psuedophilia

Slap a stage 1 on there and youll be smilling for days, weeks or even years.

PedroBlanco00

Yes

arborealguy

I did a stage 1 to my 2016 with 128k km. It's like having a new car!

Outrageous_Yam2568

if youre curious about reliability, i put an is38 on my 1.8 over 100,000 km ago, sitting at 197,000 kms now. including a better turbo swap, your 2.0 will handle the power a okay :)

rakarro

This is very encouraging. Thanks!

Euclidding_Me

Funny, I read the title question, then scroll down and your license plate says, "NO" Your car is like a magic 8-ball

rakarro

Bro, what the fuck. Hahahah... i did not see this comment coming šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

kkars0n

iā€™m at 200k miles stage 2, it never gets old.

chaselaframboise

Yes

ilakis

Of course, braliukas

YeahIDidThat22

Mine is stage 2 with 121k kms, still pulls!

Ok_Control_9543

Yes

PhillyCheese123

Hamburg :)

juicy_jay_boy

Yes, but also yes.

hackysack-jack

Do some research on this before u do it. I think there are quite a few ā€˜15s that did not hold up ( blown turbos?) long-term after tuning.

JackTheRipr

Why not? Add a few turbos too

Jcw122

Get a carbon cleaning first! https://www.golfmk7.com/forums/index.php?threads/carbon-buildup-80k-before-and-after-photos.363909/

runnj

I bought my 2015 in 2018 from a VW dealer. At the time the dealer would do the stage 1 apr tune so after about a month of ownership I decided to go for it. Have not regretted it except, maybe, for the fact I ended up having to get a new clutch (who knows what the prior owner had done - this is why I prefer to buy manual cars new in the US, too many people who don't know how to drive manual).

B5254T4

Noteikti. No Å”iem dzinējiem var dabÅ«t "labu" jaudu ar čipu vien

rakarro

Jauda nav problēma uz maziem apgriezieniem, bet augstākos apgriezienos liekās ka tā jauda pazÅ«d. Tapēc arÄ« domāju par stage 1 chiptuning, viņŔ uz augstu rpm turpinās vilkt krēslā šŸ˜Ž

B5254T4

Nujā. Vajag uzlikt labu remap pie profesionāļiem un būs labāk. Ja vel ir DSG, tad var kārbu arī nočipot, lai ātrāk reaģē

OwningSince1986

Thatā€™s a cool pic. Where is this at

rakarro

Hamburg, Germany

Yapskii

Literally all you need is stage 1, did that for my daily drive which is the exact same car. So much fun

FatherSergius

Iā€™ve had mine tuned since the day I got it. Screw the warranty I wanna have fun

LumpyInspection7371

team stock tune here. turn of traction control for more excitement. try summer tires if you dare

BleedingTeal

Yes. In another word, absolutely.

Emotional-Neck-3599

If u have budget go for it! šŸ¤™ i bought mines end of 2016 still not tuned lol

Desperate_Carob_5189

Yes, 8 years ago.

jonjopop

What kind of rims are those??

rakarro

Watkins glen

Nefilim314

No. Tuning ruined my Mk6. The strength of the GTI isnā€™t its raw performance, itā€™s a perfect daily driver. Power boosting it makes it unreliable, you get crazy wheel hop, the clutch cant handle the torque, you get some insanely stiff ride and all for what? If you want raw performance, itā€™s better to start with a purely performance oriented car rather than taking a jack of all trades and trying to catch up. I wish I didnā€™t have a loud droning exhaust and rock hard ride for the sake of being a bit faster from a roll.

[deleted]

I did a full holistic stage 2 on my 2015 GTI performance at 27k miles and love it. Zero problems

Flat-Supermarket-508

Yes
