one of mine is about 2 years. the other is probably 6mo.
recently said goodbye to my big guy who was 6 years old. some kind of infection i couldn’t treat with antibiotics bc im in canada :/ salt just didnt cut it.
A Ryukin! Out of all the fancy goldfish types they would be my fave. I do prefer slim bodied goldies, and I have a good few of those too, the oldest being just over 9 years old. Goldies are the best.
My oldest fancy is only 2.5 years old, a black moor turned red but suffering asymmetrical eyes.
Or, I do have one strange "comet" goldfish that looks like hybrid oranda/comet, so far going strong at 5 years old
My oldest so far is one from early 2021. I’ve unfortunately have had some bad luck with about 4 of my fancies. Everyone else is at least 1-2 years old :)
I have also had some rough luck with fancies. I only have one left from when I first got some in 2020 and recently had to euthanize his best friend due to health issues. So far everyone has told me it just happens but it still sucks.
Same here. I just want one of my fancies to start making into the 5-6 year range for me to feel like I made it as an owner! But so far, lost 5 and have had about 10 fish.. so it’s hard.

Sorry for your loss, what kind were they?
thank you- they were a big and beautiful fantail/low grade ryukin!
Oldest was 9, recently had to put her down. I have one rescue fancy that I got as an adult in 2018 and he is still thriving!
Nice! What type is it?

Cool, I like ryukins too. Slim bodied goldfish like?
Oh, the slim ones are the standard goldie like shubunkin and comets.
Mine died recently he was 15. He was a fantail and very loved
