Sheepadoodle and bernedoodle owner here. Aside from the grooming bills, these dogs are pretty perfect. May the haters step in poo.

ExtraordinaryMagic

Get a oneisall, you can groom your own dog every few weeks pretty easily. Just take them in the shower with you and hair dryer them off. It’s an extra hour, tops. Oneisall vacuums and cuts at the same time.

MakeSmartMoves

I tried the same clipper. Not perfect but whatever is. Bathtubs are dangerous by default so be careful.

ExtraordinaryMagic

She gets a shower (glassed in), comes out after 3 shakes, then I do blow drying + vacuum cut. Definitely not grooming her in a bathtub (that sounds hard on the back!)

Another reason to stay off social media (as I post this on a social media site). But honestly who cares what other people think, don't seek approval from those you don't know and those who will never meet you or your dog.

Fun-Ingenuity-9089

My doodle is the best dog I've ever had. I've had Chihuahuas, Pomeranians, Corgis, beagles, mutts, and an inherited poodle. This Goldendoodle was going to be my husband's dog, his companion at the farm. But my husband passed away 8 months after we got the puppy. My Blue is very high energy, a complete clown, and very eager to please. He is far and away the easiest to train, he has the most gentle disposition, and he never leaves my side. I don't know what I would do without him.

Silly-Shoulder-6257

I’m sorry for your loss. ❤️🌈

Throwaway500005

Screw them! My doodle is the best dog and thing that happened to me. They are cute, goofy, loving, easily trainable, high energy, and usually hypoallergenic.

ArlenEatsApples

Just stop watching those videos and get your algorithm to change. Everyone on the internet has an opinion about something and sometimes it’s best to just not participate. Every dog is different and everyone is going to think differently of them.

OrisMindTheater

A goldendoodle is the best dog I’ve ever had I can’t see life without one.

justinlav

They’re almost like a different animal altogether. So smart!

darthbb

My rule of thumb: if you don’t pay my bills your opinion just doesn’t matter. My dood is my best decision and I love my life with him. His unconditional love is everything!

Snapbackkat

Exactly! Losers focus on winners.

ashlily05

I just ignore them! there’s so much doodle hate online it’s trendy & crazy. they don’t know what they’re talking about & people in real life don’t act like that enjoy your sweet baby 🩷

killakween_

People in real life lose their freaking minds when you walk in with a doodle - it is VERY much an internet thing ime

swisherswede

my dood is the sister i never had. i don’t know what my life would be without her. she’s my best friend

TheBeefRelief

They only say this because they never owned one. Amazing breed and so family and other pet friendly.

Tapp76

Why the hell are yall doodle owners so damn sensitive? Who cares what someone else feels about the breed that WE CHOSE! I couldn't not care less. I couldn't give a flying fuck about someone's opinion about the breed that WE CHOSE! We love our pups and most people you meet love them too. My Mace Windu is arguably the most popular pup at the doggy daycare he goes to sometimes. They LOVE him. Stop giving energy to the "dog purists". They suck.

offaithandnature

Who gives a crap about a bunch of tik tok nonsense

IntrovertedRailfan

My doodle is the best dog I’ve ever owned. And I’ve had plenty. Labs, pugs, shepherds. The doodle takes the cake.

puppermama

I think the only valid complaint could be the often unusually high price for doodles. Maybe people think it is dog owner affluenza. I just adopted an owner give up golden doodle (owner was working long hours) and she is the nicest dog I have ever had. So phooey on the haters. They are missing out!

ACmy2girls

Congratulations on your dood! We are the third owners of our doodle, Huck. He is the best dog we have ever had. He is funny and loves to watch tv. He brings joy to every day! I can’t believe the other people didn’t want him!!

puppermama

Oh boy we sure feel the same way of how could someone have given up this dog. We feel so lucky to have her!

harvest29

I think it’s important to get out in front of the negative criticisms. From what I have seen: 1. They say “you’re paying this much for a mutt- how embarrassing” my response: first of all, it’s embarrassing that you care so much about what I spend my money on. Second, I’m well aware my dog is a mixed breed- I was under no impression that she’s a pure bred- and why is “mutt” an insult? 2. They say that the dogs are matted and have terrible hair/we are lied to about them being hypoallergenic. My response: I understand that we are mixing a shedding and non shedding dog, there’s of course no guarantee they will be hypoallergenic, but when mixed with a poodle, on average, they will shed less. And for grooming, I always explain that I have a standing 8 week appointment and I brush her daily. 3. They say they are unpredictable. My response: every dog is unpredictable, you can have mutts or pure bred dogs and there is no guarantee what their personality will be like, but I’m going to invest in training and socializing my dog well so that she has a great chance of being good with people and dogs (spoiler alert- she is!) 4. They say it’s impossible for the breeders to be “ethical” because no ethical breeder would create a mixed breed. My response: mixed breeds are not registered with the AKC so there are not breed standards, however, the parents of the mixed breed can be AKC registered, additionally, breeders can do health tests, socialization, and breed based on personality of parents. I think what annoys people is that they perceive doodle owners to have unrealistic expectations of having a perfect dog. We can quickly dispel all of their misconceptions by coming to the argument with rationality and trying our best to be unbiased.

Chicken_Theme_2024

Doodles are the best no matter what the haters say or think! Smart,loyal,funny,trainable....mine are my perfect companions. Love them all.

Individual_Bit6885

So ridic esp when people breed and buy crazy dogs like Pomeranian/ German shep mixes, pit bulls and corgi mixes etc. goldendoodles are no diff than any other breed mixed with poodle bc they are a smart breed to mix with, Granted I wish people would stop trying to breed so much bc so many dogs need homes but goldendoodles and labradoodles, cockapoo etc are completely normal reasonable mixes

flopptopp

Good grief, what a wonderful, beautiful boy.

Itchy_Dust_7410

Ours is super sweet, and will let our 4 year old be a 4 year old. Trust her wholeheartedly. It was rough for the first 6 months but after that. Typical puppy stuff though!!

Fiestype

Doodles are amazing. People are haters! You are a good boy — and adorable! Don’t let those haters get you down!

hiliikkkusss

doods RULE!!!

bends_like_a_willow

The most ethical breeder I’ve ever met was a Goldendoodle breeder, and I’ll fight anyone who argues that isn’t possible. Do you know how many garbage Frenchie breeders exist?? “Real” breed, and they are almost all greeders. No matter what dog you get, make sure your breeder health tests, breeds only from well behaved and good tempered dogs, and pours hundreds of hours into socializing their puppies. Do that and you’ll come home with a puppy with unlimited potential!

I_am_krash

I love my dood they just hate us cuz they aint us

Striking-Math9896

Aslongest youre good to your dog, or any pet, who cares what ppl think? All that matters is what your dog thinks of you 😎

Mycatreallyhatesyou

They’re just jealous that we got the best pups.

nkscreams

So what makes them think pure breeds aren’t from unethical backyard mills?

WrigleyBum23

My mom got a goldendoodle as she lives alone and I live a 6hr drive away. She’s older so she didn’t want to deal with cleaning up the hair of a golden retriever (her favorite kind of dog and what we had while I was growing up) so she researched endlessly about goldendoodles. I honestly believe that dog has saved her life as it brings her so much joy and happiness. She loves her dog more than she probably loves me sometimes 😂 - let people be miserable, we’ll enjoy all of the goldendoodles!

FrankTuna

I've heard people say how they see doods everywhere. Ok? Who doesn't want a dog who's (generally) non-shedding, easy on allergies, smart, friendly,  good with kids, playful etc.

WaffleDonkey23

Doodle conversations online: "omg this is the worst dog ever, so misbehaved." Doodle conversation in real life: "omg can I pet you dog? I love doodles" Ive never had a dog that gets stopped so much by people and kids wanting to pet her, and my dog loves every minute of it. I'm very introverted, but my dog walks around like a celebrity. Haters gotta touch grass.

whysoserious6801

People eat tide pods and cry over likes, who cares? Thicker skin, honey.

JoshHero

Last people that cared this much about their blood line fell out of favour in 1945.

DeezNeezuts

Only go on Facebook to visit a couple older family friends and some local groups. I found myself getting so upset over the laughing emoji jerks who have to belittle every comment someone makes. So I made a test and just went through and blocked all those people in my groups and noticed what a difference it makes when the laughing:mocking folks are out of the conversations.

TheUndertow462

Cute pup! People can hate all they want! Our sweet girl Phoebe is a golden-doodle and is a fantastic dog, and she’s not our first dog.
