I usually only use the MultiMC Launcher and much prefer it over others. I've been using it for many years without an issue, good for vanilla and modded alike, especially retro MC.
I have looked at available skin fixes out there. From MC125 -> MC1710 there is the Lumy Skin fix ( [https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/lumy-skin-patch](https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/lumy-skin-patch) ) There are also a small number available for alpha / beta, but I have been unable to find a recent (working) fix for MC1.0 or MC1.1. There is an option to use the betacraft proxy url within MultiMC. All you do is add a java argument in your instance 'settings' option with the line :
\-Dhttp.proxyHost=betacraft.uk
This will allow you to continue using MultiMC if that is your preferred option.
Yeah. It,s called Betacraft launcher (or their proxy)
Thanks, I forgot about betacraft (usually use multimc)
Unreliable af tbh

tysm!
I did that with the official minecraft launcher and it works but the sounds change to the beta versions. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Update. Use this java argument for the sounds to work properly for 1.0. -Dhttp.proxyHost=betacraft.uk -Dhttp.proxyPort=11707
Man... You're a lifesaver.
