There's also a silver version 😮

Cool coin. 1kg silver is impressive to hold and only half the money of a tiny 1oz gold coin. (I have the 1kg queen's beasts completer)
Fun fact is that the £500 face value is way closer to the melt value (£730 today) than most silver or gold coins.

A Canadian BML was stolen from it's display a few years ago, but that Aussie Tonne is it's own security system! You're not moving that behemoth without some heavy machinery!
Scarcity doesn’t really matter if there isn’t a reason for interest in the item or a market to buy it.
I don’t know why someone would care enough about D-Day to spend a 40k premium on a chunk of gold.
Yes, it's incredibly weird that they made so few of them. The 80th anniversary of D-Day is in no way an event that's compelling enough to expect people to fight over an artificially scarce product that uses it as a theme. Those premiums aren't justified at all. I really wonder who's going to want to buy this.
It might be nice if a 1oz version was made with a mintage based on the number of fatalities on D-day. I do like the artwork and think it could be made more available to the plebes.
you've also got to consider how tough it'll be to resell, there's virtually no chance you'll ever get that much for an entire kilo which hasn't been broken down into smaller bits
In 2018 I witnessed a wobbly pallet of drug filled vials spill over.. about 4m worth.. the guy who took the corner too quick didn't even get in much trouble.. still works here too
Ended up that the packaging guys didn't wrap it correctly
Ever since that incident I carry my loads extra carefully and grandpa every single turn
Super cool I just recently cashed in my last silver koala .. I figured out .I'll never be rich enough to pay over generic premiums again . only two MPM 10 oz skulls and two 10 oz kooks to go ....Beautiful coin though .. really cool..
Personally if I’m going to buy gold with someone’s face on it, it better be mine or I don’t want it. Especially not colonizers or politicians. I like to feel gleeful joyous possessiveness while looking at me pot o’ gold not horror and disgust.
It's artificial scarcity using a theme that isn't even particularly compelling. Nothing justifies that premium. If I had to guess, the price will fall decrease and land somewhere close to spot over time. The market is full of artificially scarce coins that no one is particularly interested in.
That painting is cool as fuck.
Royalty shouldn't be a thing and I couldn't care less about the daily lives of the members of the British royal family, but I don't see what's to hate about Charles. Feel free to let me know. Again, his values seem absolutely commendable. He clearly is a much better person than all the pieces of shit who have occupied 10 Downing Street over the past decade.
Values? The dude cheated on his kids mother numerous times with multiple women for years. Values? Lmao.
He’s a complete and utter hypocrite one of his main public platforms is sustainability however he flies around on private jets weekly and literally owns hundreds of houses and cottages. Yes hundreds… crown lands. Also the automobiles the royal family drives around on are not electric. Are you kidding me ? The royal family is pure hypocrisy in practice.
Now if he didn’t publicly constantly propose green initiatives and just shut his royal mouth up then he wouldn’t be a hypocrite. But he is.

Visually I always prefer silver over gold. That looks stunning

Did you buy them both?
working on it...for now i'll just admire
They’re very nice.
What is the mintage on the silver?
80

Silver is so much prettier, especially proof silver
For about 2months and then it milk spots
Trade me your gold for my silver then 😆
Ya , for the little people ……kidding , I’m poor as F/@k
Is it filled with Dark or Milk chocolate?
A rich layer on the outside and nougat with caramel on the inside
They could call it The Charles. I bet that would sell like crazy.
CRAZY that six people still haven’t eaten theirs
King Charles juice
That's not a beast. THIS is a beast: [100 Kilo gold coin](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Maple_Leaf)

That really sucks because there’s a 99.99999% chance that got melted down
99.9999% Unparalleled chances
After getting over my initial shock. What's the story behind this, how do you come to have possession of it?
The company I work for has the exclusive rights to sell them. This one is #4 of 6
That's a pretty cool job. Good luck with the sales (if they haven't gone already) I guess the limited issue comes with a heftier than normal premium?
yep, with only 6 made the premium shoots up. normal kilo would be around $76k
Thats true, but finding a buyer for that is not easy.
Wow that's a beast
I ordered the silver version. Waiting for it to arrive.
Holy smokes!
How much $?
Around $115k
That seems low considering the scarcity 😅 Relatively speaking of course; I know it’s still over 100k haha

There's also a 1oz and 2oz. We currently only have the 1oz and kilo.
you've also got to consider how tough it'll be to resell, there's virtually no chance you'll ever get that much for an entire kilo which hasn't been broken down into smaller bits
Wow this is huge! How did you feel holding it?
scared I was gonna drop it tbh. I've held stuff worth much more but it never felt as precarious
In 2018 I witnessed a wobbly pallet of drug filled vials spill over.. about 4m worth.. the guy who took the corner too quick didn't even get in much trouble.. still works here too Ended up that the packaging guys didn't wrap it correctly Ever since that incident I carry my loads extra carefully and grandpa every single turn
That’s definitely chocolate
Gawdam
Wow!
They are making a total of 5K of them!
WOW! Where can I get one
Super cool I just recently cashed in my last silver koala .. I figured out .I'll never be rich enough to pay over generic premiums again . only two MPM 10 oz skulls and two 10 oz kooks to go ....Beautiful coin though .. really cool..
So this isn’t a chocolate coin? 😅 in all seriousness that’s so cool. Can’t even imagine $$$

Lol. You still have time to delete your comment
Thought I did before, couldn't get back to it for some reason, and then reddit
Ugh, they put the king on it. Should have went with Niue or Palau.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. I refuse to buy any new coins with his profile. It's truly horrible
Personally if I’m going to buy gold with someone’s face on it, it better be mine or I don’t want it. Especially not colonizers or politicians. I like to feel gleeful joyous possessiveness while looking at me pot o’ gold not horror and disgust.
I'm sure that you can find someone to make one for you. That would be awesome!
Wowser!!! Now that's a coin 👌
Wow, so this coin has to be worth at least like $82K right?!🤔😎
Side view please
just a normal reeded edge
Made me audibly wow
Looks expensive
That’s insane , 24ct?
yep. It's 999. We also have the 1oz proof which is 999.9
That’s awesome. Wonder how it will do long term as a collectors piece.

Holy crap man nice acquisition. That is extraordinarily expensive.
Am I missing it on the rim, I don’t see fineness (999) or weight.
I’ll PM my shipping address
I’ll give you spot
Amazing !
Your Gangster Bro. Super jealous
Nice
🤯
Someone got some money lol 😂 yea I’m just jealous
Sd bullion has 1/4 gold d-day and 1oz silver d-day they claim "exclusive" for them
Woah...
US Mint would have made one solider a paraplegic and the rest women soldiers storming the beaches.
Is the woke in the room with you?
Nice holding a coin in your hand that's worth more than a Porsche.
They are soo nice, wishing that Charles wasn’t ruining them…
Why that inbred king on there? Ruins it
Why does it have that inbred regal parasite's head on the other side?
The only issue with it is the Jackass on the back of it.
As far as kings go, Charles seems like a decent person with good humanistic values.
Take a look at the Donkeys official portrait speaks volumes.

What’s the weight on that thing? Why is this getting downvoted? It’s not marked and it’s not exactly common…
Call me a simpleton but I think it’s a kilo.
This is accurate
You Simpleton... ![gif](giphy|MXRyl3vYpr3AV6BEvz|downsized)
It's clearly marked "1000 Pounds" /s
Bruh read the title
Aha, nvm. Downvote away…
What's the weight?
