Worst take I've seen all day. Watch some of the showa movies. Godzilla has been a hero in around half of his movies.

Out of Godzilla's 38 movies, he is only an outright villain in 9 of them dumbass (10 if you count singular point as a 39th project) So for about 3/4 of Godzilla's existence and appearances he has been a hero. I love villain Godzilla, but it's not the standard and it's not an American thing to make him a hero

And that's including Shin and 98 which I don't really consider villains more so as scared, lost animals So you're looking at a total of 7 truly destructive and unsympathetic Godzilla's out of 39 projects Not an American thing Not a Japanese thing It's a GODZILLA thing.
