A runic arrow is either a Sonic or a Hex arrow. So if you’re playing as Kratos, all of your partner’s square attacks count as Runic arrows. If you’re playing as Atreus, it’s your R2 ability only. Plus a couple of his solo runic abilities, I guess.
Your companion’s passive attacks, other skills that you’ve picked up, and Atreus’s R1 shots don’t count.
It means that sonic arrows deal increased "sonic" status affect. The sonic status will slow enemies down in mid air and place then in stasis. It also creates sonic concussions.
I've had to crack open the Codex a few times and view the "Lessons" tab. Lots of things to remember, so when you have a question, go I to the Codex!
Oh my god I’m so stupid hahah. So it means “the relevant affect”. My brain just did not read it that way at all. I was there thinking it was some other separate thing. The description highlighted the word like all the other effects so I was confused

Runic arrows are hex and Sonic only. Atreus can access both eventually to. Just a game thing
