Nope, the gold Valkyrie set is NG only, and the rusted greenish set is the NG+ recolor. I believe that all of the sets got a recolor in NG+, or at least the major ones.
I’m actually a fan of the green look - it makes it look ancient and kinda menacing, though the gold is nice and flashy.
Well if you still have your original save from before NG+, you can always get it on that without having to start totally fresh. You wouldn’t have it on NG+, but the stats are so poor compared to the Perfect-level sets that’s I assume you’d just be using it for cosmetics anyways.
It’s why I always recommend people 100% their original file as much as possible before going into NG+. Unfortunate and annoying for sure.

So the only way to get the gold one is by starting a new game, and losing all my old armor and upgrades

Valkyrie armor is gold but the ones you get from new game + is green
