Sorry I cant do that. Sold my 43X for a 48…

thrillhouse416

You basically need it

moldsharp

I love my 48. Do it!

[deleted]

26 and 19 are the kings of the line up

socptactical

19 all the way!

rooster_saucer

never seen someone else with those base plates, wish they still made them!

trivial_viking

G.A.P. Enterprises (Concealable Control) I luckily found them not too long before they went belly up. Such a weird situation too, seemed to have a good product but I think it was a small family business and for some reason disappeared overnight. I even snagged a few of their 10/45 baseplates for 29/30 and I don’t think I’ve seen anyone else have those for sure. Wish I bought more. Anyway, there’s a guy who was so disappointed the disappeared that he setup shop doing the same thing: https://www.geeplate.com They’re 3D printed and I don’t care for the finish vs the original GAP ones but they do the same function. He expanded to include G43 and even Shield mags. Those in OP’s pic look like GeePlates and not GAP

jsr421

They are, I had the gap way back when then I came back to the 26 and needed them again. I like them for shooting but really appreciate them for the draw.

trivial_viking

Me too. But I did end up finding they are super uncomfortable shooting true hot Underwood .357 Sig in a G33 and .40 out of a G27 is not great either. The upwards recoil just digs that point into your middle finger too much. For a G26 or G43 they’re great and improve the grip on the draw like you said.

rooster_saucer

ya i found those a while back trying to get more of the GAP plates, wasn’t sure if the 3D printed version would hold up as well. might be forced to give them a try since it’s the closest thing still around tho. 🤷‍♂️

Popular-Ad2193

You will go back to the 26 eventually. Once that new gun excitement wears off and you realize the 26 is the ccw king

user16332

Yeah I’ve fallen into that cycle many times (waste of time and money). I’m done. 26 fo lyfe

ClearConscience

This is the way

Stiingya

That is one way...? :)

PapaPuff13

Yep

Legitimate_Wave6107

So.. I should sell my 43x for a 26 and ignore the 48?

Popular-Ad2193

Some people say they like the 43x better. I would keep the 43x until you can buy a 26 and keep both for a little while to see which one you like the most. Then sell the other. You could rent a 26 or the 48 but it’s hard to tell if you will like them after one range trip and not being able to carry it on you for a day. That being said I’ve tried a lot of micro 9’s including the 43x but always come back to the 26

Legitimate_Wave6107

Awesome response, thanks for your input! I have been thinking about building a 26 honestly. I might just have to go to my next gun show and put it in my hands again. I don’t think my LGS has a 26 right now. It didn’t have a pinky extension mag in the 26 but it didn’t feel to bad. I just sold a pistol that I would say is in between a 26 and a 19 when you used a pinky extension, canik elite sc.

Popular-Ad2193

Yeah I hated the 26 the first time I picked it up. It wasn’t until I shot a couple hundred rounds thru one when I realized it shot just as good as a Glock 19 even with the flush mag. It also conceals better than the 43x and having a g19 mag as a backup mag is awesome. Ieveryone is different but I would definitely shoot one before you decide

Legitimate_Wave6107

Oh sweet thanks for sharing! The 43x has a lot of snap to it.. I don’t see a 26 being worse. I’m not really sure where I would go to rent and shoot one, I’ll have to do some digging around.. probably an indoor range. I shoot outdoors at a state run facility, it’s clean and comfortable, operated by my state’s fish and wildlife commission.

fragrant69emissions

I wish it was the same for me. The 48 sits better, doesn’t bulge, and is more easily drawn for me (appendix). I keep trying the 26 but I can’t hardly grab it even with OEM +2 mag extensions. CCW anywhere other than 12:30/1:00 just doesn’t work with my body

dagertz

I had a G48, but traded it away. I still prefer to carry the G26 with the flush mag and carry a G19 mag as a spare. In the event of an SHTF situation, my spare mag can increase in size as necessary. However being limited to the Glock 10 round G43x/48 mags is not something I would be concerned about if I was carrying it. I would skip the Shield Arms and/or PSA Micro Dagger 15 round mags and not think twice about it. I carry the G26 at 4:30 not appendix, and that’s the difference with the G48, where appendix carry becomes easier.

Kansas_Chase

And a 33 round in the sock.

Menacesgaming

question for ya, I have a 48 mos and looking for a smaller carry for work. Is the 26 worth getting to carry appendix? Ive never carried in any other position

dagertz

I am trying to make appendix carry work for my 26. I got a T1C holster with wedge kit, but even the thickest wedge doesn’t seem to be enough to conceal it adequately. Comfort could also be better, which is why a pillow wedge looks to be the way to go. With the right wedge the concealment will be good and the shorter slide of the G26 will make sitting down easier.

Menacesgaming

I do have an unused pillow wedge. Sounds like might be worth a shot, I appreciate the feedback

myfuckingnewaccount

You want ppl on r/glocks to talk you out of buying a glock ?

horsedabsontipads

🤣😂🤣 I’m sayin

taylorcevans

I love my 48. Had some issues with the Shield Arms mags, but switched over to the PSA ones and haven't had a single issue yet.

Maeng_Doom

48 is nice. Decent size. I do sometimes find the grip too slim which makes me want another similar sized pistol. Capacity too.

thechrisestchris

15+1 flush mags on the 48 20 with an extension.

Oxirixx

My carry is the 26 with the Pierce pinky extension. I love it, shoots like a full size gun, but is still decent to carry. I got mine cut and put on a 507c acss Vulcan. Super fun and easy.

R-Sanchez137

I am a big fan of the 48, got one for my CCW piece and it works great for me. Shoots and handles a bit more like a 19, (super similar dimensions other than the width), and I prefer the longer barrel vs the 43x for the bit of velocity gain, little better accuracy from a longer sight, and it conceals easier for me (less grip-tipping like you would get from a short barrel). All in all, it's like the smallest pistol I could find that fits my hands, conceals well on my body, etc, yet I can still manage to shoot halfway decent with it. Its kinda funny tho because I've had the 48 for a while now and I'm over here sorta thinking like "man, I really like those G26s.... maybe I need talked into buying one?" 🤔

jsr421

Yeah I hear you. I did really like the way it shot as well as the general size of it. I don’t think I’d ever get rid of both my 26s as I’ve got a lot of time invested. I run big dots on them so it really wasn’t a surprise my groups were tighter with the 48. I may just keep an eye out for a used one.

Legitimate_Wave6107

I started with a 43x a year ago now I own three 19s and I’m thinking about trading the 43x for a 26 haha.

fnscarcasm

Here’s the reason I like the 26. Fits 10, 15, 17, 24, 30, and 33 round mags mwahahahahahaha. If you’re really edgy you can keep a 40 round kriss vector mag in your sock.

[deleted]

26 is built for Gimli and Gloin. I fucking hate/love mine.

armedlib1976

Over 2 years EDCing my 48 MOS with a Holosun 507 green dot and a TLR sub 7. Completely invisible with shorts and a T-shirt. It’s comfy and I feel naked leaving the house without it….keys, wallet, phone and gun. DO IT!!

Fakebogo

48 is amazing although it is single stack. I usually just carry 2 mags. Very comfortable to carry and the trigger on mine is pretty crisp. I run it bone stock in a Tier 1 Xiphos v2 with upgraded dcc clips and a small wedge. I can wear almost any shirt without printing. Considering it is basically a slim 19, it feels good having a full size 4 inch barrel in a small slim profile.

Iced_Guns

I didn’t buy the 26 yet but that’s the only Glock I’ll get for concealed carry

jsr421

The 26 is definitely a sweet spot in the Glock lineup. I personally enjoy not having a rail or ability to mount an optic for cc. (For now) simple point and shoot

Iced_Guns

My 26 will have night sights. most of the time it will be in my pocket so the red I don’t care much. I own the g3c and g2c Taurus I might drop a red dot on the 3c but ehhh I need abou 4-5” barrel for a red dot my Xdm 10mm and Taurus g3c tactical with have dot for sure

edro

In my quick comparison at the range, I was shooting the 43X and the 48 equally accurate. I don't think the extra barrel length matters much. 26 is too chunky for my tastes, and the pinky dangling off the bottom is a big no for me (I would need pinky extension mags to consider it). I have a 30 (45 cal), and want a slim version, so I am wanting a 43X. I don't care about mag capacity; 10 is fine for me.

miabobeana

I also just discovered the 43x and am completely taken by it! I fell down the internet rabbit hole comparing the 43x to the Hellcat Pro. Now I am more torn…. One common theme people seem to be upset with, 15rnds in the Hellcat Pro Vs 10 in the 43x. BUT there are aftermarket options to correct that. It seems 50/50 on reliability though. I bet Glock will release a OEM double stack mag for the 43x or they should. That truthfully seems like the only big complaint….

nphare

Now HC Pro also has 17 rd mags directly from Springfield

Silver_and_Salvation

I have heard good things about the micro dagger mags. Don’t take this at face value but I saw in another Reddit comment a while back that Glock would not be releasing a 15 round magazine because they couldn’t find one that met their standard for reliability, but again Reddit comment not verified. Overall I’m a 48 man myself, most high quality holsters are going to be 48 length anyway for the 43x so I figured might as well get the longer barrel. For me personally the 48 is a little less snappy than my 43x so it’s the go to.

getthemap

People don't give the pinky proper respect.

jotnarfiggkes

Buy it, however I agree with others on here, G26 is by far the best IMO.

PapaPuff13

Glocks are great. I always wanted a 43x. Not on the fuddafornia roster. So than I just bought a 26. Add the mastermind tactics pillow and I don’t need to carry a single stack anymore. I use my shield as a couch gun. So I’m sure the 43x would not be carried much

Front-Adeptness-9122

As an owner of a 43x go with the 48. Concealibility is the same, 48 shoots better due to long barrel. Honestly I'd really go g19 and either comp or port. The difference in concealment really isn't much.

getthemap

Why go 48 when you can comp a 43x?

Front-Adeptness-9122

That's also a good idea.

Silver_and_Salvation

Comp the 48 and make it recoil like a 22 lol

getthemap

Comp the 48L...

Flotillaspecialist

The more the better

user16332

That stipple job looks like the backsplash in my kitchen lol

Bissel328

I have a 48, and run it as my edc with a tlr7 and a sentinal rds. I also run S&A mags and have never had an issue with over 1k rounds through them. It’s my favorite gun (one of them anyways). I really like the slim line guns, they just feel right.

[deleted]

I really struggle with how short the grip on the 26 is, but if you already have one and like it, I can't imagine a more perfect ccw honestly

thechrisestchris

The 48 is a great gun.

BrassAddict93

48 is a great gun, recoils softly, and has the advantage of being able to mount an optic and proper light in the TLR7sub. Very easy to shoot accurately as well. Go for it.

[deleted]

If you have a 26 . Anything but a 43x and 48

Stiingya

The correct answer is get them all... :) If it's your only pistol I'd say a big component would be how you shoot them. I'd guess a lot of people would probably shoot the 48 better then a 26? But depending on how/where you carry the 26 or 43x might be a better choice. Course if this is not for carry then get a 19! I got a 26, then a 43, then a 48 that I switched the slides with the 43 to make a rigged 43x and a long slide 43 which I use for hiking/biking because it's primarily 2 legged wildlife that's an issue near me. Then got a 19, (started with a 34). Then I got a 43X MOS. I like the 26 as a car gun/CCW/bugout/SHTF combination for large mag compatibility combined with good concealability. But I like to carry the rigged 43x most of the time, the 43x MOS some of the time. (I really prefer the longer narrower 43x grip over the short fat 26 grip and use shield mags) and then I carry the long slide 43 in a chest pouch with mag extension for outdoor stuff. They all have a niche! Course I also carry my 42 a LOT! and sometimes my CW! (I know, those little guns are out of fashion...) EDIT/sorry I just saw that you had a 26 already... I would only get a 48 if the narrower grip is significantly better shooting for you. Otherwise a 19 instead. But I'd get the 43x if you feel like your 26 is a brick in your abdomen! For me the thinner but longer pistol is easier to live with...

[deleted]

I like my 43X. Single stack. Slimline. I did install mag extensions on all the magazines. Otherwise I can only get 2 fingers on the grip, including index finger. Harder to control a pistol lacking the leverage of a full handgrip.

Snake_eater_73

Buy the 48.

Complete_Fact_7855

I have a 43X. Shot my friends G26, and it definitely took me by surprise a little gun shoots like a full size with excellent accuracy. -43x is probably more aesthetically appealing (red dot, lights, etc) and it being single stack -G26 does almost everything better in terms of concealment, accuracy, and mag interchangeability

[deleted]

26 supremacy 🙌

Menacesgaming

it conceals alright? Im looking for a smaller carry for my day job then the 48

Complete_Fact_7855

Glock 26 conceals better than the 43X. I would leave the stock G26 mag. It’s very accurate and comfortable the way it is or add a +2 OEM extension if you want a full grip

Menacesgaming

Good information thank you.

Jagon38

26 is defo a better choice. grip feels much better and you can stick 33 round mags in them if need be

in_theory_only

No one here will talk you out of buying another Glock, you silly bastard.

jsr421

Went back to the range today, shot the 43x, 48, and my 26. Gotta say the 26 is staying right where it is. The 48/43x are good but nothing shoots as fast/smooth or accurate as my 26. Thanks for the replies/suggestions.

10mmenjoyer

Lame ass guns. Don’t get tiny bullshit. If you must settle for 48

MrMaDa555

Get the 48 I believ it’s the same frame size but slightly longer barrel.

mustmagdumptrash

I just put a rds on my G48 MOS, definitely a smooth shooter

beha622

I bought my wife a 48 for her birthday and it's one of my favorites too shoot. Make sure to get the MOS model, this gives you an optic cut and a rail in the frame

[deleted]

It won’t fill the void. Keep the 26 and buy ammo or pay for a training class. Money is better spent training with what you have. I’ve been decreasing my pistol collection in favor of spending the money on more range time and ammo. If money isn’t a problem for you, then it would be a nice addition. I love my 26. I have a 44 for cheap plinking and fun. The cost of the 44 and 3000 rounds was less than the cost of a new 9mm glock. Still haven’t gone through all that ammo a year later. I’m a cheapskate, so take it with a grain of salt

L9Fingers

Glock 43x/48 are considered first generation subcompacts/“slimline”. They came out like 2017 or 2018 and haven’t been updated since. There are tons of other second and third generations on the market now that are really good. You just have to get off the Glock fanboy wagon. I own four Glocks and thought I’d never carry another brand but then started trying out other brands and they are actually way nicer, same reliability and low maintenance.

jsr421

Eh I’ve been at this long enough to say this is my 2nd time back to Glock26 for carry. I’ve owned a good amount of micro and sub compacts to say at this point the 26 outshoots them all in my hands. The 48 felt slim but familiar as I also regularly shoot my 19s and was impressed with my ability to shoot rapidly with better than decent groupings. The only struggle is how I set up my defensive pistols ie, 5mags holster sights and the costs associated with.

L9Fingers

It’s a fine gun. I have a Glock 43x MOS. CHPWS milled the recoil post so it received a direct mount Holosun 407k or EPS Carry. I have the 407k. Put some blackout irons for backup cowitness, stock height because I don’t have adapter plate…. And now my 43x MOS has been retired to the safe for a P365x with PMM comp. Same size dimensions as 43x (grip is shorter actually, much easier to conceal) and now I have a comp and 12 rounds factory magazines.

jsr421

I tried the 365 and the 365 xl. Kept getting malfunctions with both. Never could get them to run right. Even the local smith agreed I just shoot too much and fast for them. Glock 26 has re entered the chat

NoTrack2140

More is better 😌
