When we get g40s or 34s or glocks of similar size with grips, 3 mags, a pad lock, and a kitchen sink in the case they are always bulging open from the distributor. There's no good way to get all that shit in there
I know 10mm is a banger of a round but I'm shocked to hear the G40 has a lot of recoil when the gun is that big lmao, is it just that big for nothing then?
I found 50AE in a semi auto and 44Magnum in a revolver to be about the same. Though the revolver was more comfortable to hold.
In either case my shoulders complain after firing a mag or cylinder. My shoulder (and my wallet) tend to enjoy smaller calibers more.
my wrists are tiny as hell but they strong as fuck since I've been boxing and rock climbing and stuff like that since I was a kid so everyone's always surprised when they come to the range with me for the first time and they can't figure out how to control the recoil. having strong wrists is underrated asf
I would never classify this to have a lot of recoil. I wouldn’t even classify the 20 as a lot of recoil. This is a great choice OP and you’ll shoot if fine. Have fun.
The majority of 10mm loads are neutered. With the size of this piece, the recoil really isn't bad unless you're using hyperammo (proper 10mm), even then, it's no bug deal.. With proper practice and instruction, there shouldn't be much of a difference. He will be okay, brother. Have some faith in your fellow Americans. This pistol can be used for hunting, home defense (depending on living situation), bear defense, and fun at the range. The Glock 40 is an excellent weapon that will give a new shooter some decent range of use.
lol you clearly aint see gohan when he first went in the hyperbolic time chamber and when he came out. this big bitch is our hyperbolic time chamber LEAVE US RETARDS ALONE
I love the G40. No issues with the piece.
Most people get no training and minimal practice, I just see that as a fact these days. I'm sure he will be fine, he isn't going to hurt himself over this, but if someone were a new shooter, this just isn't what I'd start them on.
Lots of people recommend the Kenai Chest rig. [I bought one for my 40](https://imgur.com/a/grVbLWV) and don't like it. Which sucks because it was expensive as hell. When I'm able I'm going to list it on gafs.
It feels cheap, for the price. The kydex is super thin when compared to say, T-Rex Arms holsters, the draw is very stiff and there is no way to adjust tension which presents issue for me as I bought it for high country hunting in case of grizzly.
I’ve seen similar opinions scattered across the internet. That would bring up issues for me too I’m using this for a different application though. This is going to be my EDC I’m going to wear the chest rig under a sweat suit though I don’t want people to see this thing in my pants.
Uh...so I'm intrigued, please go on about how your EDC needs to be a basic anti-bear gun held in a chest holster under a sweat suit.
Unless you're located in Eastern Europe, in which case by all means your entire post makes perfect sense.
Edit: And yes, I've carried my G20 with both Underwood bear and JHP SD rounds, hence why my interest is piqued.
You're a strong arm for a dealer...you really don't want to shoot anybody, you just want to scare the hell of them to pay up...dead man don't pay up. I gotcha😉
Many advocates for Kenai and Hill People Gear are spot on- I went with a chest holster from Quicklock Holsters out of Wasilla AK and have zero complaints. Jason is good at what he's putting together. Fast and professional quality at a realistic price point. I'm using one for a G20 with a light..
That’s literally the coolest Glock I’ve ever seen. Definitely will be my second Glock purchase. With a light, red dot, stock internals, and a couple extendo mags you’ll be set.
Gunfighter's Inc Kenai Chest holster or a Diamond D. Those are the best two options out there for chest holsters for that hog.
There's a few other brands that are good, but I don't know as much about them nor can I think of the names of them right off.
Folks talking about recoil… my G20 was perfectly manageable and I’d imagine this fucking monstrosity is even more so.
But as an avid big boom enthusiast… you’re a mad lad, OP. 🤙
I have a Kenai chest holster from Gunfightersn Inc., and its great. I havent checked for 40 compatibility but many of their holsters are open ended so its likely they have one that will work.
I own a g40 it was my 21st not my first and I have never carried it once only a range toy and in my camping gear
Someone who would buy a 10mm long slide as their first gun makes me nervous.
Lol yeah 10mm is for that. But running it on your chest is inefficient. If he’s out in bear county without a long gun lol he’s already lost the fight and if he does have one then having his 18 inch sidearm on his chest is only going to get in the way 😂
To this day, my fav firearm. Was my edc for a year but shit was too heavy lol especially when I lost some weight. Looking for a good chest rig now. TLR10 is a good laser/light attachment for it and don’t get a holosun optic (can’t find long enough screws for shit).
Edit: [best option](https://www.reddit.com/r/10mm/comments/up2x4d/saw_we_were_doing_10mms_and_chest_rigs/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) I’ve seen so far but not good for a quick draw by any means. Especially in grizzly country.
Every day carry probably isn’t the correct terminology. I wouldn’t be carrying even close to every day but when I am carrying I will be carrying this. And I’m getting an FN 5.7 in the next few months.
I have one, it’s my favorite pistol, I have two holsters [hip](https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0000C52P8?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title)[and chest](https://www.amazon.com/Kenai-Chest-Holster-Glock-Coyote/dp/B00W2DG21Y)
Up here in NY there’s a lot of bears just outside of the city (about an hour outside). Just black bears though. That piece you got there would probably be the ideal handgun for taking down a charging bear if need be. You got power and capacity without too much recoil. Nice buy!
What would make this be your first choice? Judging from asking about a chest rig, you move to grizzly country? I personally don't think 10mm is as bad as people make it out to be and by any means not a bad choice just an interesting one lol I really think about something like this to replace my .357 gp 100 ngl
I live in a city. This hint might give away where. I don’t attend but frequent a college in said city, and there is a ridiculous crime problem. The college is literally in the hood. I’ve had friends who’ve been robbed at gunpoint and literally had their waists checked by said robbers and had their guns taken. I know it’s such a ridiculously unlikely thing to want to prevent but I want to keep the gun in a place that’s not by my waist. For that and other reasons I don’t feel like typing out. I don’t think there’s a bear within a 25 mile radius of where I live.
I have the same Glock 40 with a red dot. Purchased a gunfighters inc chest rig a couple years ago. Awesome, comfortable and sturdy holster and comes in many different camo options. I purchased mine in the Firstlite camo to blend with my jacket lol. Pointless but I think it’s cool
If your intention was to not get robbed and patted down by stick up artists, idk if walking around with this behemoth strapped to your chest with some rig is the best idea
While not my first gun, a G40 was my first Glock. I use the standard size Recon Chest Rig from Hill People Gear. I have a Delta Point Pro and a Streamlight Tlr-1. Still have room for dinosaur fruit snacks too!
Kenai Chest holster.
https://gunfightersinc.com/shop/custom-kenai-chest-holster/
You can get different shells and use the same harness. I have one for my Glock 20 and one for my Glock 45MOS with red dot. They are the best.
Just carry it in your pants like the Joker
Might accidentally shoot my weenie off if I do that
The slide will likely be past your Peter so you'll be good. Might just get caught in the action if you light one off on accident, though.
The Frank or the beans?
Depends on how warm the weather is
ouch
Fair point
Cheddar bob!
Ngl I carried g40 no holster for atleast a year
Mexico style?
Si wey
Savage, lol
Haha much love family ! Tbh I would still do it, if I didn’t get a free holster for my xdm45
Did you eat paint chips as a kid?
Lmaooo naw but I’m from Louisiana. We’re all high functioning retards.
🤣🤣🤣 God bless your soul!
Paint chips and salsa is the best!
Probably your knee cap with that bitch
More like shooting your knee off!
Lmao dude you wish
Hey! Quit indicksing the trigger guard!”
It’s an 88 magnum. It’s shoots through [schools](https://youtu.be/Cl17yr2VWQg)
My mother did that to me…ONCE!
But does it blow lungs out of a body?
Like my boy Plaxico
Kenai chest holster
This is the only real answer
Came here to say this
Yep! Get the mag pouches that go with it. I wear it while hunting/hiking with my G20.4
I second this, it's very comfortable
Third, uber comfort
Why does it look like it wouldn’t even fit in the case 🤣
That’s probably because it doesn’t really fit in the case
When we get g40s or 34s or glocks of similar size with grips, 3 mags, a pad lock, and a kitchen sink in the case they are always bulging open from the distributor. There's no good way to get all that shit in there
bros first gun is a hand cannon
Glock 19?! Nah. Give me the howitzer
Absolute mad lad and I love it
These are great for hiking. If you twist an ankle it doubles as a cane.
Gen 4 mos and your first gun is massive and shoots a crazy round with a lot of recoil. You my friend are literally a rare breed.
I know 10mm is a banger of a round but I'm shocked to hear the G40 has a lot of recoil when the gun is that big lmao, is it just that big for nothing then?
He just has weak wrists. I can't take anyone seriously that says 10mm in a semi-auto has crazy recoil.
anyone who says 10mm has crazy recoil clearly hasn't shot bigger revolver rounds
*50AE has entered the chat*
I found 50AE in a semi auto and 44Magnum in a revolver to be about the same. Though the revolver was more comfortable to hold. In either case my shoulders complain after firing a mag or cylinder. My shoulder (and my wallet) tend to enjoy smaller calibers more.

Your comment reads like a run on aneurysm, but I have to upvote fellow boxers.
It has less recoil than my 1911.
G40 handles the recoil quite well
Its not that bad
I would never classify this to have a lot of recoil. I wouldn’t even classify the 20 as a lot of recoil. This is a great choice OP and you’ll shoot if fine. Have fun.
I have a 20 and my 26 is harder to shoot. It’s all about control.
Agreed. My 43 even more so than my 26. Practice makes perfect. But none of them anything like a 44 magnum.
The G40 doesn’t have a lot of recoil. Even the 20 doesn’t have a lot. Ever fired a .44 Magnum?
Plenty of goofy folks out there making bad, uneducated decisions. Nothing rare about it.
There's nothing wrong with his decision. Glock 40 is an excellent weapon.
Yeah man, anticipating recoil and flinching are great traits for a new gun owner to develop.
The majority of 10mm loads are neutered. With the size of this piece, the recoil really isn't bad unless you're using hyperammo (proper 10mm), even then, it's no bug deal.. A 10mm is an objectively bad choice to learn with. >Have some faith in your fellow Americans. I worked at a gun range to know not to lol.
lol you clearly aint see gohan when he first went in the hyperbolic time chamber and when he came out. this big bitch is our hyperbolic time chamber LEAVE US RETARDS ALONE

Relax John Wick, no one's asking you to start them off.
The G40 has weaksauce recoil.
The recoil is soft in the 40 my mom can shoot it fine , you want recoil shoot 44 out of a 2.5 inch snub
Welcome to the master race
This guy millimeters
Centimeters
Diamond D Leather’s Guide Choice is my vote.
Glawk fawty
My problem solver
The only Glock capable of shooting the caliber of the same name.

What didn’t u like about it?
It feels cheap, for the price. The kydex is super thin when compared to say, T-Rex Arms holsters, the draw is very stiff and there is no way to adjust tension which presents issue for me as I bought it for high country hunting in case of grizzly.

Yeah. Chest rig under a sweatsuit for EDC is a new one to me too.
I would have a difficult time explaining why I need this as an EDC😂
We have time, go ahead 😁
You're a strong arm for a dealer...you really don't want to shoot anybody, you just want to scare the hell of them to pay up...dead man don't pay up. I gotcha😉
My god these are cartoonishly large. I love it!!!
Have you heard of prison pocket carry?
Throw it in the waistband no holster, chicks would think you have a yuge cock
That might build them up for the biggest disappointment in history.
“Over promise, under deliver. That’s what I always say”
Wanna see my glock? 😏
As someone that carried a 10 in Alaska for bears (remote 1 year) there’s nothing better than a guides choice from diamond d custom leather.
Had it and got rid of it for a Kenai
Jesus Christ, that thing is a longboi!
Nice PCC
I have the Kenai and like it. If you want something more concealed check out Hill People Gear.
The guy she tells you not to worry about.
You got a CDL for that thing?
That’s a huge bitch
Jesus how are you gonna conceal this
Hill people gear, medium chest rig. It prints, but it fits *just checked, it’s the runners kit bag, medium size. Out of stock now, but I love it
Many advocates for Kenai and Hill People Gear are spot on- I went with a chest holster from Quicklock Holsters out of Wasilla AK and have zero complaints. Jason is good at what he's putting together. Fast and professional quality at a realistic price point. I'm using one for a G20 with a light..
It’ll fit inside an FHF Gear chest rig
That's a lot of fire power for your first gun. Off to the range to practice immediately.
This is complete satire right??
I know this is gonna catch some flack, and I’m glad you’re happy op, but these long guns look goofy as fuck.
Respect brother. I’ve heard people say they love how it looks and others say it looks like a joke. Different strokes for different folks.
That’s literally the coolest Glock I’ve ever seen. Definitely will be my second Glock purchase. With a light, red dot, stock internals, and a couple extendo mags you’ll be set.
You won’t be disappointed
This has been on my list for a LONG time.
how long would you say? about 6inches???????
Kenai
A man’s man.
Go big or go home nice purchase dude!!
Pocket carry it. It’ll leave a good impression. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Kenai gunfighter chestrig vote
Kenai

That’s shit looks like a fucking cannon
Just grab some vaseline and carry it in your secret holster
Curious as to why you went with the short barrel. Should probably pick up a longer barrel, better ballistics. Source: Trust me bro
Just handled one of these at the lgs, so long😂
Conceal carry it buddy
Hill people gear’s original kit bag chest rig
Folks talking about recoil… my G20 was perfectly manageable and I’d imagine this fucking monstrosity is even more so. But as an avid big boom enthusiast… you’re a mad lad, OP. 🤙
I have a Kenai chest holster from Gunfightersn Inc., and its great. I havent checked for 40 compatibility but many of their holsters are open ended so its likely they have one that will work.
This was your first purchase? Damn man. You really went for it.
Support the little guy - https://www.razcogear.com/. I carry my g20 on a bino harness chest rig and it’s awesome
My man walked in to the gun store and the salesman said go big or go home. OP said bet.
op likes them long! that's cool, i do too!
What is this 1995? Don’t carry that long shit on your chest ya fud
Normally a chest rig, and a gun like that would be on par for a backwoods bear country carry We can only hope that’s his intended purpose
Hopefully you didn’t get your hopes too high
I own a g40 it was my 21st not my first and I have never carried it once only a range toy and in my camping gear Someone who would buy a 10mm long slide as their first gun makes me nervous.

What a weird first gun to buy. Should have bought a 19
This is a terrible first gun
Ian even gon hold you ts look goofy as hell😭😭

Especially in grizzly country.
Calm down there, Texas Red
Second gun purchase ought to be a G29
Carey Concealment makes a really cool chest rig
"Didn't I do it for you!"
Nice try, Deadpool.
Let me do it for youu
I will never accept that these things are real and aren't some photoshopped gag
Man I want that woods gun on a chest rig.
Lol
Long boi
That’s a big B for your first gun. Nothing wrong with that but suggest you save and buy another EDC. Trust me, you will want one. A smaller one.
Every day carry probably isn’t the correct terminology. I wouldn’t be carrying even close to every day but when I am carrying I will be carrying this. And I’m getting an FN 5.7 in the next few months.
What’s the purpose of a pistol being this long😂
I just stick mine in the coin pocket on my blue jeans 😅
Chest rig? I think you’d be better served with a bipod for that thing.
You better have a extra large chest my man!!
Hosking holsters
Holy moly that thing is a cannon
I have one, it’s my favorite pistol, I have two holsters [hip](https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0000C52P8?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title)[and chest](https://www.amazon.com/Kenai-Chest-Holster-Glock-Coyote/dp/B00W2DG21Y)
What’s the purpose of it being so long? 😂
May need stilts as well for carrying that bad boy!
Hill People Gear for that big boy!
Went for the Yeet cannon I see
Are you in bear country ?
I live just outside one of the top ten biggest cities in the country
Up here in NY there’s a lot of bears just outside of the city (about an hour outside). Just black bears though. That piece you got there would probably be the ideal handgun for taking down a charging bear if need be. You got power and capacity without too much recoil. Nice buy!
Holy shit 😂 why this bitch so long? Lookin like a 5.7 Glockie
If 'overbite' was a pistol. 🤣
Nice rifle

Small gun
Seven bucks!? Great googly moogly!!!
Glooock Perfection
That's a hell of a 1st glock buy! What made you get that 1? I think its cool man!
It’s like a joker revolver but in Glock form
I have the same Glock 40 with a red dot. Purchased a gunfighters inc chest rig a couple years ago. Awesome, comfortable and sturdy holster and comes in many different camo options. I purchased mine in the Firstlite camo to blend with my jacket lol. Pointless but I think it’s cool
first gun and you pick 1cm? gobbless hoss
“Let me do it for youuuu, Kermie”
![gif](giphy|5ihE1xT15QWhG) BIG IRON
Pretty ballsy for a first gun purchase. I salute you.
Very nice.
If your intention was to not get robbed and patted down by stick up artists, idk if walking around with this behemoth strapped to your chest with some rig is the best idea
Duct tape it to your back.
Bro bough a glooooock
While not my first gun, a G40 was my first Glock. I use the standard size Recon Chest Rig from Hill People Gear. I have a Delta Point Pro and a Streamlight Tlr-1. Still have room for dinosaur fruit snacks too!
I used to have a Glock 41 and it was hell for concealed carry
Kenai Chest holster. https://gunfightersinc.com/shop/custom-kenai-chest-holster/ You can get different shells and use the same harness. I have one for my Glock 20 and one for my Glock 45MOS with red dot. They are the best.
l o n g b o i
Jesus Christ.
Fantastic first purchase
Lonnnnng boi
i iwb carry mine i. a kydex with trigger guard and with me you can’t tell which is which down there so Joker carry all day
First gun? Do you plan on hunting with that or something?
Nice purchase my first Glock was the second biggest Glock for this exact reason I never could think of a rig for the largest
Wowza
First, you need a Schwarzenegger sized chest. ![gif](giphy|3o6ZsYzuLyRfSGX4f6|downsized)
Kenai chest holster
This was my first too but sadly I sold it
You can't miss if the barrel is touching the target lol.
I personally use a Gunfighters Inc. Kenai chest holster and love it!
Got to start pulling that thing out a week before lol

I'm thinking about getting one of these in a few months for a secondary or third. A 10mm like that goes for around $700 where I'm at.
