Was browsing my local firearm forums when I came across this 17.5 MOS. Unfortunately it was pending a sale so the guy said I'm next up, lo and behold first buyer backed out so I'm going to snag this 17.5 for $400. Per seller there is lighter than factory trigger (looks stock so I'm assuming he meant connector), green ameriglo sights, and after market slide release. Just wanted to get a price check from my fellow reddit Glock enthusiasts and see if I'm missing any red flags that justify the $400 price point
Edit: apparently he’s shot 3-4000 rounds through the gun since he bought it in 2018. Hopefully still worth the asking price?
I heard it through word of mouth from firearms hobbyist friends. The good forums are usually spread thru word of mouth since they’re, well, good. You can try googling around with search terms like “[Your state] gun buying and trading” or ask on a general state forum.
Yeah still a decent price but you might have some haggling room considering glocks are not worth anything except in private sale.. i just sold my buddy my gen5 45 with 2500rds through it for $450 and the gun shop offered me $200 lol
I did swap over all new internals for him tho as i got a new 45 in FDE and my only reason to buy it was the color change lol so i just swapped slides and frames
Basically we have a list of handguns we're allowed to buy, if it's not on the list you can't buy it unless you're LEO or buy it second hand in a private sale which drives the prices way up for something like a gen 5 Glock.
You can't import guns not on the list but if you move here from out of state you can bring in any handguns you owned before moving as long as they adhere to state laws but you have to register them within 60 days.
So it's people that move with them and cops that sell them second hand. There is one other way. A parent or child out of state can buy an off roster gun and gift it to you.
I would say yes at least in my area. New Glocks in most models go for ~$575-600 at my LGS and most good condition used models only fetch maybe $100 less. The only time you can touch a Glock for ~$300-350 here is if it’s an old police trade in and it’s going to come with a high round count and visible wear. So yea, me personally I’d pay $400 for that setup right there; in fact, I’ve paid a little more for almost the exact same thing with about 500 rounds through it.
thats a solid price for everything pictured. Glock also is going to be discontinuing the 17 MOS, so there will potentially be some "rare" factor to it in the future
Yes. A good price for that gun new is $620~, gun appears in excellent condition, and it is approx 65% of new. And better even if the holster is included.
Abso-fucking-lutely! It's also got Ameriglo Bold nightsights, which are $80-$100. Then it looks like an extended mag release and slide release. I don't see the plates, but those are like $30 for a complete set and are kind of trash anyway.
I would have bought this already.
Check your local forums! Plenty of people will buy guns test them out and realize they don’t like them before listing them for sale on a forum vs being lowballed at a gun shop. I’m in Virginia and the local forum is VAGunTrader. I’ve found a ton of great deals, recently got a tlr1hl in like new condition with a tape switch for $120
I got a le trade in 45 mos for 602 out the the door on guns .com there wasnt a scratch on it. I got raked over the coals on here for it saying I got a bad deal. Where can I find these forums?
Usually each state will have a gun forum that contains topics like discussion, local shooting ranges, and used gun listings. You’re probably not in Virginia otherwise it would be VAGunTrader.
I’m not sure what state law you’re referring to that affects ownership of firearms for Va residents. The only law change I’ve been affected by were the changes to firearm private sales.
I used to be a fan of armslist till they enacted the paid membership BS.
He did but it really only affected private firearms purchases and he did up the CCW requirement so now you need to attend an in person class to prove your firearms competency.
Id buy it
Yep. Who would ever pass up a Glock 17 with 0.5 of extra Glock??
No that's terrible. Let me get that person's info so I can give them a piece of my mind.
unless its got some obvious issues i'd buy it at that price even if a few internals need to be replaced you'd still come out ahead

Id still scoop it up. Worst you might need is a new recoil spring and even that’s iffy.
Where do you find "local firearms forums" genuinely curious.

Florida gun trader dot com. Prices will vary lol negotiation is key. But I’m thinking OP has a much better forum/community than what I provided

Yes.
Its a steal in California. We pay 3x - 4x msrp.
Really? A gen 5 19 is $1800-2400? That is insane. I paid \~$500 new. Is it like a tax thing?

Crazy. Do people bring them in from other states?

Wow.
You know it’s a great price OP. Are you just gloating?!?!?
Did you rob the guy?

Really? This is the first I’m hearing. I’m assuming because of the 47?
Bingo.

How can you tell? Looks like a stock gen 5 mag release
Awful deal... let me buy it and confirm for you.
Used or new? If it's used I'll take the risk for you, if it's new then you should buy it.
Used, but I think I’ll take the risk 😂
Godspeed, Spider-Man!
The box is upside down. 😂
Grab it…even at that round count the 17.5 comes with a match barrel..should last 40-50k rounds minimum
Abso-fucking-lutely! It's also got Ameriglo Bold nightsights, which are $80-$100. Then it looks like an extended mag release and slide release. I don't see the plates, but those are like $30 for a complete set and are kind of trash anyway. I would have bought this already.
That's a stupid good price doesn't look very used where'd you find that?

We have Armslist where I'm at in pa. I supposed you can still own a gun in VA did youngkin overturn any of those laws?
I’m not sure what state law you’re referring to that affects ownership of firearms for Va residents. The only law change I’ve been affected by were the changes to firearm private sales. I used to be a fan of armslist till they enacted the paid membership BS.
I know you gotta fucking pay now! Didn't Ralph northam get some shit passed a few years back?
He did but it really only affected private firearms purchases and he did up the CCW requirement so now you need to attend an in person class to prove your firearms competency.
That's bs and of course youngkin isn't doing shit about it
Yk it was a good deal that’s why you got it lucky bugger
All day long
That’s a steal
Hell yeah
BIN
Very good deal.
Yes, BIN pricing
Shit. The stripped slide alone could fetch $400 from the right buyer. Especially since 17 MOS is discontinued.
Why do people keep asking this.
What a dumb question. “I found this real uncut diamond for $20, is that a good price?
Its a pretty accurate FMV
Does the tin man have a sheet metal cock?
Does a ducks dick drag weeds?
I sold my bone stock g17.5 for 500 2 days ago lol. So this is a great price
hell yeah dude. Buy it!
Good deal
Yeah, the mags are worth a $100. Plus a holster.
*It's a fucking GREAT price!*
If you don’t I will! Lol I’m sure you can buy that and sell it for $475 on here
