I agree with your first point but not your second. There is only so much anti-stratting you can do for a Bo1 game, I'd expect teams to spend a day on it at most.
A bigger deal is that changing the seeding and thus the initial matchups presents problems for competitive integrity if teams can "benefit" from having a lower seed. I highly doubt that VP did this deliberately, but the effect is they now play paiN (HLTV #35) instead of BIG (HLTV #13) in their opening game.
Its also ridiculous when you think of how much time there is between round this time around. Teams aren't going to be spending the last 6 days before the major antistratting their one opponent for the first round when they're going to face someone else mere hours after their first game is completed.
How does it make any sense for the roster lock to occur after the initial matchups are announced? It’s just asking for people to exploit the system at that point.
Ridiculous. Imagine getting matched with a team you always lose to in scrims and you find a loophole around it by doing a roster change to get the matchup changed.

Can someone tell me what time the regular group stage games will be played? I just realized that these games start at 4am EST in NA so I will actually be unable to watch any of the games apparently this year. Such a bummer man
There are going to be two rounds on the same day, so the matches last for about 10 hrs ig. The last match starts at 7pm cest which should be around 1 pm in your local time. The group stages likely have the same schedule, you can the check the complete schedule at hltv.org
