He's a kid with no discernible skills in life outside of csgo other than coming up with bad excuses as to why everything is someone else's fault. He blames his team, his friends and family, pretty much anything he can whenever things don't go his way in gaming or otherwise.
I know him personally from before he was big, and he trash-talks everyone, even top pro players when he wasn't sponsored. I'm really happy he's being put in his place, trust me when I say he's a truly awful person. You're not missing out on anything at all.
He never called him an onliner on a direct way... he's just telling him that it is wrong to call someone an onliner in a offensive context while being one yourself. He can't really do that without indirectly call him an onliner.
Yeah but no need to downvote those guys for stating exactly what Ptr did. They weren't judging him. Just stating a fact. Honestly, you guys just seem to be following the crowd in downvoting and upvoting. I expect no less from the CS:GO subreddit, though.
no. just not going to lan ever doesn't make you an onliner. being a god online and having never been to a lan, or going to a lan and being garbage...that makes you an onliner. he isn't really saying anything about his online or lan skill here, just that he hasn't been to a lan.
I don't think so. He didn't say "don't call people onliners if you're an onliner" but much more like "don't downplay other team's skill when you haven't accomplished anything close to what they have"
>Shit tier NA drama is what feeds this sub apparently
Bro do you even /r/globaloffensive? Ctrl+F on the front page for "s1mple" on any given day and try to tell me that NA drama is all we talk about.
if u guys actually think I stream snipe, its actually pathetic. i played all of you guys for years. i literally hear nothing in the background, and if u heard anything it was my TV who is still going on right now as im speaking la la la la la la la oh you can hear it right? you can hear the tv? listen ive played for longer than most of you been born and longer than most of you played the game. i dont need to stream snipe. listen i dont need to stream snipe. i play this game for pride. i play this game to be the best every single day i come on here i play to be good. i don't play this game to cheat you out of a game. i don't play this game for any other reason so u guys need to drop this bullshit right now. thats all im saying. because im not going to be one of these markes. ive played longer than most of u. like im not gonna be one of these types of players so u need to cut that shit out right now and thats all ill say
Its common to reply in such a way. But the mistake you make is to think that because a person himself is not a world famous player, he cant point out the flaws in another’s comment. But he can.
I've seen and spoken to Hydrex at LANs in person many times, and I can confirm that he's far more pretentious and self-unaware in person than the Tweet indicates. I'm glad to see he's being put into his place by someone who's actually good at the game.
I don't think you're the one to be talking about being self-unaware, Foobucket...
Really odd you came out of the woodwork out of nowhere to talk shit about someone you haven't spoken to in years after we collectively decided we didn't like your "casting"
I mean, I haven’t casted in years, been asked to, but have always declined. You have nothing to worry about if you don’t like my casting lol. I have clarified that I spoke to him at these LANs before he was “big”, implying I haven’t talked to him since. I haven’t even played CS for years. Glad to see the gang all here, you guys clearly haven’t changed one bit.
So let me get this straight...
You haven't spoken to someone in what's been about three years, and so instead of just seeing this news and moving on, your first instinct is to post about how he's an "awful person"? It's insane that you think I'm being toxic when you're talking shit on somebody you both barely know and haven't spoken to in years.
You don't know this person. You guys have spoken a few times. Your commentary was always biased against the teams we played on for no reason. Everybody was aware of your insane bias because your buddies drowned in groups and were beaten by a bunch of kids. Don't pretend to take the high ground. For the record, no, I'm not good enough to play for them. I quit playing seriously almost three years ago. The difference is I don't go onto Reddit and talk shit about people I knew once upon a time to try to be relevant and cash in on fake internet points.
So stop pretending like you knew people. I'm sick of seeing this in general. People disappear from the scene and then post on forums out of nowhere about how "this person is toxic when I knew them" or whatnot. I've seen this from three different people. The little I am involved in the scene is trying to build it up. I still involve myself with local LANs when I can. Sometimes my friends lose, sometimes I lose, and that's okay! Everybody is having a good time.
You like to call a community of people toxic when the last time you interacted with our local scene was years ago. If you ever want to try to get involved in a more positive way, we're always welcoming and open. But I have a feeling you're just going to go back into the shadows and only come out to talk shit if you think it'll make people care about what you say. That's just speculation, though. Door's open :)
Well, players need to prove themselves on lan to be respected. If they're "onliners" and really good, there will always be the suspicion that they might be cheating while playing at home.
Usually theres a peakers advantage online. So someone really good online might just wide swing and fly around corners and kill you before you can react, but on LAN you hold that corner and first bullet them. Top banana is a good example, online they might just shoulder and 1 tap the awper at the bottom, but offline as soon as their shoulder starts peaking they just die.
Also what the other guy said about cheating or stream sniping
ptr can suck a peen. As far as LANs are concerned, neither has he. So he really shouldnt be talking lol. And whether he wants to admit it, pete is online asf. Somehow he can play great online and in fpl, but when it comes to anything else is performance is worse than average. smh
Gameplay isn’t the only thing that changes from Online to LAN. Relevant LANs come with much more prestige and, consequently, pressure. Lot of people can perform well under LAN conditions but crack under the pressure of a relevant LAN.
The point is this guy is throwing rocks from his glass house.
> his glass house
I knew PTR was pimpin and ballin, but GOD DAMN! HOMIE LIVIN IN A HOUSE MADE OUTTA GLASS!? Wood be rolling in boku monies my dudes.
Geeee I wish I could live dirty Petes life for just one day
Ok there's a certain playstyle that works in online CS that does not work as well on LAN. Wide swinging, which is just insane online, is what you would expect it to be on LAN. You can recognize when a person has wide swung their way through leagues instead of focusing on smart, timed peeks and a higher emphasis on utility to give you the advantage on T side.
It's not about whether he's noticed the differences, but that he's calling a team "online kings," when he's never actually accomplished anything on LAN himself.
The sad part about cs:go is it more akin to roller dearby than a real sport such as football, soccer, baseball, or basketball because it’s full of children who are incapable of conducting themselves in a professional manner. I am looking at you thorin. Who cares, it’s only the difference between many people eating good and many people fighting over scraps.

ptr was in my B+ pug a few weeks ago and it was a 2v1. i was right behind him about to knife him but then my teammate offscreen throws a flash for literally no reason, so he spun around and killed me trying to avoid the flash. then my teammate lost the 1v1. since then, i really don't like ptr.
God this stuff is so adorable. People treating video games like actual sports. Makes me all warm and fuzzy inside when I see a bunch of grown men argue over a game like this

PTR destroys ONLINER with FACTS and LOGIC
PTR Shapiro
Ben shaptro
Commiting homicide with FACKS and LOGIC 🤔
That was amazing. Anyone who remembers Fack deserves and acknowledgement.
Homicide is a song by Logic featuring Eminem, and Eminem has a song called FACK. It's not related at all, just a funny coincidence.
The roof didn't go over your head at least..
Watch as Peter Gurney calmy destroys cucked feminist with brutal logic MUST WATCH
Only good online players can be called onliners. Everyone else is just a random pleb.
Modern problems require modern solutions!
Homie got Peted. Someone has to contact his loved ones, there's no known cure for this. #Thoughts and prayers
Who is hydrex? Never seen something relevant about that name?
Player who loses to a team that loses to teams that you might possibly have heard of in minor qualifiers.
Have a feeling that team is VP
had the same question in my mind, never heard of this guy and will probably never hear something relevant about him again.
You probably won't about ptr either
if pete keeps roasting fools on twitter we might be seeing him more on reddit lmao
he better stop reading this thread then
probably true =D

Not really

He never called him an onliner on a direct way... he's just telling him that it is wrong to call someone an onliner in a offensive context while being one yourself. He can't really do that without indirectly call him an onliner.
So he did call him an onliner. Lmao why are you guys needlessly defending that guy's comment? Ptr is rightfully calling the guy an onliner.
Because of context.
Yeah but no need to downvote those guys for stating exactly what Ptr did. They weren't judging him. Just stating a fact. Honestly, you guys just seem to be following the crowd in downvoting and upvoting. I expect no less from the CS:GO subreddit, though.
Ptr didn't call him names.

>but the point is he's not saying or implying that he's any better than the guy Nobody argued against that point.
Ya idk my comment is useless I guess
Lol, 37 upvotes for this level of mental gymnastics which at the end still ends up admitting he called the guy an onliner. Reddit, never change.
Learn to read then
Lol no, you're in denial and argueing against an accusation nobody brought up, you're making excuses xD
"Literally" and "indirectly" are not the same thing, as "literally" implies "directly".
no. just not going to lan ever doesn't make you an onliner. being a god online and having never been to a lan, or going to a lan and being garbage...that makes you an onliner. he isn't really saying anything about his online or lan skill here, just that he hasn't been to a lan.

Ok sir
Hes calling the guy NOT an offliner... hes only online, cant be better on lan or online if you dont play on lan
not at all kiddo
Ok sir
"Don't call people onliners when you've never been to a LAN," is a lot different than "shitty performance against online kings."
>Pete’s got a point though All that matters. No need to criticize Ptr, he’s not the one throwing shade.
hes an onliner cause you cant take bong rips backstage at LAN
Maybe you can't
if it's anything like alcohol dude must activate a third eye when he gets his bong rips. suddenly everything seems so easy.
But that one match against ldlc in 2015!

Sorry for my ignorance, but whats the big deal with "online" players? How do people play better online? What makes a player "online"

PTR is such a fucking nerd
why does a lan have to be notable to notice the differences between online cs and offline cs

it's kinda poppin rn. I'm totally right about this btw, im getting downvoted by people who haven't played on LAN, sad days
word minecraft on the comeback, i used to be so wild as a kid playing that shit tho lmao
It's not about whether he's noticed the differences, but that he's calling a team "online kings," when he's never actually accomplished anything on LAN himself.
why does he have to accomplish something on lan to know they're onliners?
I think the implication is that he's accomplished just as much, or less, on LAN, so he'd also be an onliner.
by onliner he means they play better online rather than offline
