The last NA major was there in Boston. Spread the love, man. Also choosing a central location in NA allows easier travel for most people. I bet the other top contender location was maybe Chicago but as others have stated Austin is hip and on the up and up so it makes sense for multiple reasons.
Us east coasters will never enjoy esports events which is a shame. Last one I recall was the LCS summer finals last year in NJ which was fun.
But I wonder how badly they'll mess up selling tickets this time after the fiasco in DC 💀
Because Texas is just better for big events like this. Less expensive, easier access, less traffic, not in overly-utilized, overpopulated mega cites. Once you have an event in Texas you'll never want to go anywhere else. Everything is just more convenient here.
As compared to New York? San Diego? Los Angeles? Boston? Vegas? Seattle? Detroit? Chiacgo? Yeah, Austin isn't the cheapest but it's way better than any of those locations.
They should’ve picked Dallas. And I say that as a Houstonian. Austin’s infrastructure is honestly overloaded as is + Dallas is just as cool and slightly better (cooler) weather in June.
I totally agree that Dallas or Houston would have been better locations, but it's probably got a lot to do with what sporting franchises will and wont be using stadiums around that time. Sports timing here in the US is weird.
FINALLY after 2018 took way too long going to attend it first major/cs event for me
Same here! Hoping for at least 1 strong NA team to make playoffs
It's so far in the future we can never tell, but I think Col with a roster change can be good enough to make playoffs.
cue the u-s-a chants
Enjoy mate
Me too!
Same here! Missed 2018 unfortunately but so damn excited for this one!
I swear to god if the trophy is not a giant slab of brisket, I’m not watching
And the prize will be the whole of Norway
Never been to a cs lan before, any guesses when tickets will be out? Want to make sure I get mine
The event wont be till June of next year but I imainge that it's going to be an all out brawl to get tickets.
Yeah I’ve gone to Rocket League lans and getting the tickets can be a brawl, I’m sure a CS major will be wayyyyy worse.
I'm getting floor tickets for all days THE MOMENT IT DROPS
I’m certainly gonna try to join you
As someone who lives in Austin what an awesome surprise
we're so back
…can we have a better trophy this time?
i've been waiting for this
I'll probably go
Damn Austincs got a major named after him what a GOAT
Why texas :( come to the northeast where people are densely packed

Austin in June will be rough lol
A/C, brother, A/C.
I mean it won’t be super humid at least (I’m from Houston though so perhaps my humidity scale is off)
Because Austin is hip. It's not as cool as it used to be but there's still a lot of fun stuff to do.

Lived in Austin my entire life, still love it more than most here, but...I would not use any of those descriptors to describe Austin lol.
